The cozy Mama Bear's Cabin up the hill from Papa Bear's Timber Lodge (see listing #46584), is now available year round. The cabin has two bedrooms and 1 bath. There is a queen-size bed, A double bed and double pull-out futon (in liviing room) to accommodate up to 5 people. In the living room is a gas hearth stove. the kitchen is fully equipped. Enjoy the new hot tub which awaits just off the back deck.
Some games and books are provided for your leisure. This is a great place for the the honeymoon couple or small family. If you are booking Papa Bear's Lodge for a larger event, this is the perfect place for overflow guests who want a little more privacy.
Hiking and biking trails are right here. Gold Panning, Golf, miniature golf, and go cart rides are close by. Kayak and canoe rentals are availabe for use on nearby Scotts Flat Lake or Rollins Lake. We are only 3.5 mies from the beautiful South Yuba River.
Swimming, tennis and a children's play ground are in Nevada City and Grass Valley. We are just a 45 minute drive to the nearest ski area for downhill or cross country skiing, and sledding. Nevada City is two and a half miles away, where you will find fine dining, wine tasting, great theater, musical entertainment, art galleries and a fun shopping experience in this charming historic gold rush town.
Historic Grass Valley is just another three miles away with more of the same, and we are 1 1/2 hours drive from either Sacramento or Tahoe.
Amenities: Down comforters on some beds (in winter), fully equipped kitchen. Satellite TV, DVD/CD player, DSL with Mac computer, gas hearth stove, ample parking. There is a phone for local calls, bring a calling card for long distance calls. Cell phones do not work well here. (This is a non-smoking property.)
If you are celebrating a special occasion, let us know and we will gladly make dinner reservations for you, or obtain special items such as Champagne, Chocolates, or a Special Bouquet.
Activities: Theater, fine dining, wine tasting, musical events, shopping, galleries, hiking and biking, boating, fishing, swimming, ping pong, tennis and other outdoor activities are all located within a short distance.
Come join us for the Fourth of July small town parade. It is wonderful, as is the Constitution Day parade in September. In June on Father's Day weekend come see the famous bike races down the middle of town. In July we have three "Summer Nights", the last three Wednesdays in the month. The streets are closed to traffic and lined with food craft vendors.
Don't miss the Bluegrass Festival, World Music Fest, Music In The Mountains, Halloween, Mardi Gras, Shakespeare Festival, Fall colors, etc., etc., etc.
Enjoy Victorian Christmas, the first three Wednesday nights, and the last Sunday before Christmas.You'll find artisans, food venders and all the shops open late. The gas streetlights, Victorian carolers, and friendly merchants make this the place to visit and shop for the holidays.
Area: The Yuba River,, with many deep pools and massive smooth boulders is only minutes from our home. A beautiful trail meanders along its banks for miles.... |
