Manualoha has 11 buildings situated in the Poipu Kai Resort on Kauai. These are the closest vacation rentals to Brennecke`s Beach. Featuring a unique architecture, the spacious units range in size from 1000 to 1700 square feet and have beautiful tropical garden views, ocean views, and ocean front, unobstructed views from Building 1. Manualoha has a beautiful pool that is just 100 yards from Brennecke`s Beach and the Pacific Ocean.
Brennecke`s Beach is one of the top body surfing and body boarding beaches on Kauai. Waves break consistently throughout the year, but it is usually best during the summer months.
The Poipu Kai tennis courts, pool and hot tub are right across from Manualoha, and walking paths lead through the resort`s well-maintained grounds to beaches in both directions.
Just steps away, the world famous Poipu Beach offers a beautiful spot perfect for swimming, snorkeling or laying out in the sunshine. While snorkeling in Poipu, you will discover a variety of colorful fish, including the state fish--Humuhumunukunukuapuaa. There is a wading lagoon for toddlers and young swimmers. Poipu Beach also has a large grassy park with children`s play area, picnic area, showers and restrooms. Across the street, Brenneke`s Beachside Deli offers cold drinks, snacks, and the South Shore`s most popular shaved ice! Stop by the deli for delicious sandwiches, all kinds of snacks and treats, and the cool relief of shaved ice.
There are many restaurants less than a 15-minute walk from Manualoha vacation condos. Casa di Amici`s dining room is open-air, casual, romantic, take-your-time dining at its finest with grand piano music on Saturday nights. Brennecke`s Beach Broiler overlooks Poipu Beach where you can enjoy steak, seafood, pasta, sandwiches and an assortment of organic salad selections. Their bar is a great stop for pupus and to watch a game. Kalapaki Joe`s sports bar is a few minute`s walk. And, half a mile down Poipu Road, is the Poipu Shopping Center--home to Roy`s, Keoki`s, Starbucks and many other restaurants and shops.

I recently traveled to Hawaii with my two children (12 and 9) and we loved staying here. It really felt like we were guests in someone's well-loved home; not staying in a generic rental property- wonderful furnishings, plenty of towels, well stocked kitchen- I can't think of anything we needed but didn't have. The view! The view! Unbelievable. And we so miss the smell! Surrounded by beautiful flowers and fruit trees. I loved walking outside every morning to the sights and smells. And the location is general was great! We weren't sure what part of Kauai to stay in, and were so happy we picked this area. Swam with sea turtles at Poipu Park, saw a monk seal where we took surfing lessons nearby- and even enjoyed the chickens everywhere. (well- we came to love them...and still giggle about them) The pool is right next door and we enjoyed swimming most nights while watching the sunset over the ocean. And my children loved the loft area they had to themselves. We appreciated the fans that were available for every room that kept us comfortable. Overall, this was a perfect property for my family and we hope to come back one day!

Just got back from a 10 day stay in this lovely condo. It was even better than the pics. Best part was the amazing view from the living room wall of windows. Sitting on the back deck and just gazing at the breaking waves was such a treat. We enjoyed being on the ground floor and being right next to the pool. The furnishings and decor in the condo were of good quality. It felt like being in someone's home - very warm and welcoming. Linda, at Great Vacation Retreats, was right on when she told us that this condo was quite special. Thank you for a fantastic getaway. Would love to come back.

My husband and I were married at Kee Beach on the North Shore and visited the island several times after. We used to manage vacation rentals in Lake Tahoe and many of the owners also owned property in Kauai and asked if we would be interested in starting a business here. After a couple of years, we finally made the move and have been blissfully happy ever since. The island has so much natural beauty and outdoor activities, yet it still doesn't have that 'big resort' feel. It is a great, safe place for children and also makes for a perfect honeymoon or anniversary destination.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
There are so many outdoor activities to enjoy here -- going to the beach, surfing, stand up paddling, horseback riding, hiking, sightseeing, taking a boat charter along the Napali Coast, kayaking, camping, biking, etc. I enjoy getting a spa treatment at the Anara Day Spa at the Hyatt. If you enjoy going to a spa, their facial is perfect. My husband and I met at culinary school and consider ourselves 'foodies'. We love the Kilauea Bakery for a great cup of coffee and the bialys (stuffed bagels) are amazing. Some other restaurants that we enjoy are Josselins, the Kalaheo Café, Postcards, Roy’s, Tip Top Café and Kauai Pasta just to name a few. There are some wonderful farmers markets here and fish markets (Hanalei Dolphin is the best) with their fresh local catches of the day. Ahi is, of course, an island favorite and can be found at many of the restaurants throughout the island. Whale watching is from December - March and is quite a sight to see. Some of the best golf courses in the US are located in Kauai. We work with some activity providers that provide personalized hikes and activities that are 'off the beaten path' and truly show you what Kauai has to offer.
