Quaint Beach Cottage
Quaint Beach Cottage
We absolutely LOVED it. It was immaculate and completely equipped. The owner has many paintings and pottery works that make the house seem like home. The instructions were clear and understandable, and everything worked like it was supposed to. We were very pleased with the house from the moment we walked in. The location was convenient, with shopping and great restaurants nearby. The water was obviously treated, soft and tasted great. The only slight improvement I could suggest would be to add a foam mattress topper to the queen bed, as it was a little hard for my old bones. I would gladly recommend it to family and friends. Thanks for a great stay.

Owner response: Hi Barbara, We're so glad that you and your family enjoyed our home. We totally agree with you about the master bed and will purchase a pad to make it softer. Thank you for the suggestion and your comments. Life's a Beach! The Parish Family
Loved the beach!
Loved the beach!
We had a great time at St. Augustine Beach! The home was perfectly located and definitely met the needs of my family. It's a short 2 blocks from the beach. No need to drive. The home was kept well enough for my family. My only thought was that it was not young-kid friendly. Everything in the house was breakable from the dining room table to all of the knickknacks. Overall we had a great time and can't wait to return!

Home away from home
Home away from home
My husband and I stayed at this house for vacation the last week in June. When we arrived we were extremely pleased with the home as well as the location to the beach. You can walk out the front door and be on the beach in less than 5 minutes. If you prefer to drive, there's a parking lot w/bathroom directly in front of the beach entrance and parking is always available. The house was very clean and had everything we needed while on vacation. All one needs is clothes and food, it was perfect. I loved that it was stocked with the normal things you need from home, for instance fully stocked kitchen, extra towels, sheets, toilet paper, paper towels and for those of us who hate that after vacation you have to go home and do laundry, well good news there's a washer and dryer. The house does have a phone but cell phone service worked great. There are tvs in the livingroom and both bedrooms and you have a dvd player as well as a redbox right down the street. There's cable but its basic however we rarely watched tv so this was not a bad thing. I also want to mention another great thing, two full baths so no waiting for the bathroom. This house also has a small back deck and a screened in back porch as well as a front porch with a swing, just in case you like sitting outside early in the morning before starting your day or late in the evening to relax after an exciting day out and about. An FYI about a trip to the beach, no matter how hard you try sand comes with you...thankfully once you are back at this house and before you go inside there is an outside shower which I thought was pretty great. No one likes having that stuff all over them once they get home and trust me it sticks like glue and gets everywhere, so the outside shower thing is a nice touch. To describe the location of the house itself well you do have neighbors but you would'nt know if you physically didn't see them because its very quiet despite the fact you're only about 1 block from the main strip called A1A Blvd. While you are visiting the St. Augustine area remember not only do you have the beach but also an amazing and beautiful historical district with plenty to see and tons of awesome places to eat. All in all a great vacation spot. I would highly recommend this house and will rent again, not to mention the owner Pat is awesome, very helpful and will get back to you in a very timely manner. She even calls to check on you to make sure everything is as promised and for that I give this an A+.

This is the best value on the beach! Cute cottage is pleasant, clean and tastefully furnished. Lots of new linens and a full sized washer and dryer. The kitchen has everything needed for "vacation cooking."No noisy neighbors and a great sense of privacy. Lots of things to do within walking distance... shops and restaurants and a beautiful beach! Historic St. Agustine is only a 10 minute drive. All in all we are counting the days until we can come again!

Owner response: Thanks for the review Martie and Jim..Glad you all had a good time! Pat and Bill Parish
The house was clean and as described. There was a nice kitchen with a good selection of cooking pots and pans. The bedrooms were comfortable. The loication is right in the middle of the St Augustine Beach community. The beach is about two blocks down the street (check google maps). However, there is a small community parking lot with bathrooms (on the same street) that we drove to every afternoon. We never had a problem finding a spot. The beach has soft white sand and was not too crowded. St. Augustine is only 5 minutes away with TONS of things to do. The only factor that kept me from giving this a 5 starr rating is that there was no WiFi and my ATT&T W / 3G got very limited reception....but thats a good thing right :) The Direct TV is basic with limited channels. We had a GREAT time and the owner is very nice and accommodating. The value for what you get is impressive. The location is great. We would love to come back and I would reccommend this anyone going to St Augustine beach.

Year Purchased: 2004
About the owner: My brother-in-law Greg, husband Bill, and I bought the beach house in 2004. After visiting the area for over 30 years . We looked for quite some time until we found this little jewel. My husband and his brother grew up in Sarasota and wanted to get back to their Florida roots. We currently live in the mountains of Western North Carolina and hope to one day retire to the Beach!! Life's a beach!!!
Why the Owner Chose Private Homes:
We visited the area for over 20 years prior to buying the cottage......Great beaches, antiques stores, good bike and walking trails, good music in the Summer at the pier and wonderful restaurants. We love riding our bikes into the historic district and looking at all the old houses.
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage:
We fell in love with our home because of the way it sits back in the trees and is really pretty private. It's the 3rd house from the end, on a dead end street. We love to sit on the swing on the front porch!
