The stone fireplace lends warmth to a cozy family room with a wood-beamed ceiling, skylight, hardwood floors, and a stunning view of the lake. Some of the amenities you will find include a 27-inch cable TV, VCR/DVD, CD player, computer with high-speed Internet, games, books, magazines, videos and free long distance service.
Bake some goodies in the country kitchen, which houses all the necessary appliances, supplies, and modern conveniences. Dine indoors looking out bay windows or grill outside and enjoy your meal on the deck with a spectacular view.
Plenty of sleeping quarters with three delightfully decorated bedrooms (king, queen, and two twins). The king-size and queen-size bedrooms have lake views, cable TV, ceiling fans, comfortable mattresses, quaint antique furnishings and mountain decor. The twin-bedded room also includes cable TV and a ceiling fan. There are two full baths with showers and tubs, plenty of space for toiletries, a half bath off the queen-size bedroom, and a separate laundry room with washer and dryer.
Lakeview is only one-and-one-half miles from the center of Highlands, a great place to shop or dine in some of North Carolina's finest restaurants. Located just minutes from hiking trails, scenic waterfalls, and lake access for canoeing or kayaking. You can ride ATVs, go rappelling, llama trekking, horseback riding, or picnic at a public beach that is less than five minutes away. The winter months are the time for downhill skiing, snow boarding, and tubing, which are all within 15 minutes.

We live in Atlanta GA and have been coming up to Highlands since 1999. It didn't take long for us to fall in love with this magical mountain community and we are sure you will too. We have two charming rental properties in Highlands; Stone’s Throw Log Cabin and Lakeview Cottage. My friends and I came back in August this year after staying at the cottage in Sept. of last year (see "Druid" comment in the reviews). We had another wonderful visit. Such a comfortable, well-maintained cottage - always clean and welcoming. We spend a great time together - this is a wonderful place to renew acquaintances and spend time with loved ones. We are friends of more than 50 years' duration and this has become our "go to" place to spend relaxing moments together, and no better place than on the back deck overlooking Lake Sequoyah! A glass of wine, some snacks and great companionship - who could ask for anything more? Mark is, as always, great to work with and so accommodating. If you go, remember to bring bird seed - the feeder on the porch is a great place to watch them congregate!! God willing, we will be back again next year, and hopefully for a longer visit. We always leave wishing for more time at Lakeview!!

This was our first visit to Highlands and we could not have been happier with our accomodations in the Lakeview Cottage. It was very clean, well stocked and came with a lovely view of Lake Sequoyah.It was very convenient to town, and numerous scenic attractions. We had a wonderful time, and will stay in the Lakeview Cottage next time we come.
Recommended for:Girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

The brilliant leaves, the crisp air and the charm of Lakeview, all made for the perfect vacation. Sitting on the deck overlooking the lake was a slice of heaven. The stars were so bright and full that you felt as if you can reach out and touch them.

My husband & I just loved your place! We were lucky enough to be here for the big snow and enjoyed skiing and tubing. The fireplace and heaters kept us nice and toasty. This was our first trip to Highlands but definitely not our last.

This was our first experience renting a cottage. I don’t think we will ever stay in a hotel again. Lakeview provided us a comfortable and much needed vacation. What a perfect setting for spending quality time with the most important people in my life.
