My friends and I came back in August this year after staying at the cottage in Sept. of last year (see "Druid" comment in the reviews). We had another wonderful visit. Such a comfortable, well-maintained cottage - always clean and welcoming. We spend a great time together - this is a wonderful place to renew acquaintances and spend time with loved ones. We are friends of more than 50 years' duration and this has become our "go to" place to spend relaxing moments together, and no better place than on the back deck overlooking Lake Sequoyah! A glass of wine, some snacks and great companionship - who could ask for anything more? Mark is, as always, great to work with and so accommodating. If you go, remember to bring bird seed - the feeder on the porch is a great place to watch them congregate!! God willing, we will be back again next year, and hopefully for a longer visit. We always leave wishing for more time at Lakeview!!

This was our first visit to Highlands and we could not have been happier with our accomodations in the Lakeview Cottage. It was very clean, well stocked and came with a lovely view of Lake Sequoyah.It was very convenient to town, and numerous scenic attractions. We had a wonderful time, and will stay in the Lakeview Cottage next time we come.

We spent 2 very comfortable nights in this cottage--very well equipped, clean, all the amenities for which we could ask. An owl taking up residence in a tree outside the dining room window was great added entertainment. Many nearby hikes and waterfalls.

While the world was watching Kate and William get hitched, we come to Highlands to participate in my brother's wedding at the Farm. It was amazing, beautiful and the cabin served as the central hub for our whole family. My parents came from pa, my brother and his girlfriend from France and my husband, 2 yr old and 3mo old from Houston. The cabin was a great distance from town and the Farm and kept us all comfortable and entertained. No complaints. The owner even sent me some clothes we left there. When's the last time a hotel did that?

Our second visit to Highlands was as awesome as our first. We’ve stayed at other places in Highlands but once we found Lakeview, we won’t go anywhere else. Your place is stocked with charming décor and in a great location. We’re already looking forward to our next visit!

My husband & I just loved your place! We were lucky enough to be here for the big snow and enjoyed skiing and tubing. The fireplace and heaters kept us nice and toasty. This was our first trip to Highlands but definitely not our last.

We stayed in the this quaint mountain cabin over a long weekend to attend a wedding in Highlands, NC/ The cabin is very close to town, but yet you feel miles away from the hectic city life! It was peaceful and beautiful with freshly fallen snow for our visit. The cabin is furnished just perfectly and we absolutely loved our stay there!

This is a cozy little cottage with everything provided for a comfortable vacation.Three adults and two children found it just big enough.The owners are nice and accommodating. We look forward to returning some time soon.

The brilliant leaves, the crisp air and the charm of Lakeview, all made for the perfect vacation. Sitting on the deck overlooking the lake was a slice of heaven. The stars were so bright and full that you felt as if you can reach out and touch them.

My friends and I enjoyed every minute of our stay. Mark and Chris obviously put the needs of their renters at the top of their list. From the call from Mark asking if we got there ok and asking if we had any questions about the property to the convenience of the location to the absolutely peaceful and wonderful deck overlooking the woods and lake - it was a wonderful experience and one we are repeating this august! Everything was comfortable and clean and inviting. No negatives - period.

This was our first experience renting a cottage. I don’t think we will ever stay in a hotel again. Lakeview provided us a comfortable and much needed vacation. What a perfect setting for spending quality time with the most important people in my life.

We were not directly on the lake but the lakeview we had was spectacular. Sitting on the large back deck at sunset made you not want to leave. Even though it was not far from the main road, it had a secluded feel. The rooms were spacious and I loved the decor. You can travel to different waterfalls that are not very far away. It was just a peaceful and relaxing place to get away from the everyday hustle and bustle. I could have stayed there forever. When you go into town, Fressers eatery is a must eat at location.

What a great time we had!! Even with lots of rain we went exploring the area, saw beautiful waterfalls and enjoyed the peace and quite of this cozy cabin. The area is great, loved the town of Highland and ate great as well. The cabin was so clean, and decorated so nicely I just loved our stay. Being away with 2 other couples there was plenty of room for all of us to relax and enjoy each others company.
