This lovely cedar cabin - "Oak Shadows Cottage" - is located on country acreage, just south of Hempstead. Completely hidden from the road by lovely & mature oak trees, there is relaxing enjoyment in nature. The cabin is perfect for a romantic getaway, or use it as your home base to go antiquing and exploring the countryside. In the spring there are beautiful wildflowers to enjoy.
The cabin is furnished with antiques and hunting/fishing memorabilia. Included is a nicely furnished kitchen, and we provide for you a selection of cold sodas, bottled water, coffee, tea, and snacks. A small pond is just steps from the front door - relax on the deck over the water with a glass of wine and a good book! There are also comfortable rocking chairs and ceiling fans on the front porch.
The cabin's bedroom has a queen-size bed, and there is a queen-size sofa sleeper in the living room, so four people can sleep comfortably. The bathroom has a large, antique footed bathtub for the best bubble bath you'll ever enjoy! Also included for your convenience is a laundry room with washer and dryer.

The owners, David & Melissa Newcomb, have lived on this property for over 20 years. In 2000 we built this cabin as a guest house to share with visiting family and guests from near and far. We furnished it with antiques and interesting rustic decor that appeals to everyone!
