"Memorable moments with Family and Friends" I loved Casa Del Mar. It had everything we needed and more. Gin and Tonic's in the pool at midnight, playing cards in the living room, cooking some great breakfasts in the kicthen and rested well in the comfortable bedrooms! We came to akumal for a freinds wedding and we had the most amazing time. On arrival to Cancuun aiport rent a car. There are many places to visit so if you like to be independent go for it. Do not exceed the speed limit, you don't want to get caught speeding in Mexico. Make sure you spend a day/night in Cancuun, visit Tulum which is just 15 minutes from akumal (go early - 9 am before the tourist coaches join you). Akumal Beach is only a few mins away from Casa del Mar. Akumal is a family friendly town. So if you have young children its is a very safe place. We loved Casa Del Mar as we were able to relax and really enjoy our family time together. Jose the gardner is lovely, very helpful. Maria the housekeeper is lovely too, although we never asked, we have been told she can cook a really good meal, just give her 1 day notice. Overall we had an incredible time and I am already missing my time there.

my family loved this place.pool in front is a big plus no wind.fantastic views from 2nd floor balcony. 2nd floor smaller br room has the best bathroom in the house,great view.nice layout tons of closet space. observatory on third floor best views in the beach out front but nice walking to explore the pools of water and interesting creatures in them. 3min walk to beach. maria maid and jose gardener will take care of all your needs. maria does laundry well. jose will wash your car daily.fun place we will be back.

We really enjoyed our stay in Akumal at Casa del Mar. The house at everything that we needed and was in excellent condition. I would highly recomend Casa del Mar to any family looking for a laid back vacation in the Riviera Maya.

I have been meaning to write to Marcia since we returned but my reentry into real life has been harsh. Marcia was incredibly helpful in assisting in vacation planning and made an extra effort to ensure that our stay was perfect. Perfect it was, the house was simple but very adequate. The staff was friendly and informative. We felt safe, well-cared for, and Akumal truly became our temporary home. We are two families with children and the house was perfectly accommodating. The children loved the pool and the location between the two points in Akumal (half moon bay and Akumal Playa) was optimal. We walked everywhere and loved our days where the car was obsolete. I do not make high recommendations lightly. I truly thank Marcia and her staff for helping us plan and implement a dream vacation for our families

We rented this house with a group of 6 people (3 couples) in Feb 2010. The house was wonderful!! One upstairs bedroom is huge and has its own balcony with a wonderful view of the ocean. The other two bedrooms are very comfortably sized. There is a separate bathroom for each room (sort of small bathrooms but who cares?). There are tons of closet/storage space if you are staying a while. The house is very clean and the housekeeping is great. The pool is perfectly kept and fun to have. There is a great view of the beach from the pool because there is a lot of space between Casa del mar and the next house. The kitchen is not huge but has everything that you need. Plus, Maria can cook you an EXCELLENT meal for a small fee. The one small downfall to the house is the ants in the kitchen. I think that there was air conditioning but we didn't need to use it! Just cracked the windows and it was perfectly cool. The back of the house has a porch area with lounge chairs. There are rocks leading up to the ocean. You can easily "hike" through the rocks with good shoes on if you want to be closer to the ocean-but you probably can't get in to swim there! That is OK because about 2 minutes walking to the north, you will find a beautiful fun, quiet beach with a wonderful restaurant/bar (La Buena Vida). Or, a 10 min walk to the south you will be in the small town of Akumal. The town has dive shops, a bunch of restaurants, grocery stores, Lucy's homemade ice cream shop, and a beach which was more crowded. The location is really great. You can easily walk or ride bikes to Yal ku chico (north of the house) which is a fantastic snorkeling spot (for all levels, even small kids). If you didn't want to rent a car or drive a lot, there is plenty to do/see/eat within walking distance. Alternatively, several really great attractions (Dos Ojos cenote, Casa Cenote/Manatee Cenote-my favorite!, Tulum, Playa del carmen, etc) are all a very short driving distance away.

This is our third time in Akumal. We stayed in Nicte Ha,the sister house next door, several years ago and couldn't wait to get back. Casa del Mar is a wonderful place. Just right for the 6 of us. Nicte Ha's rooms all face the ocean, but Casa del Mar more than took care of us. Having the pool on the street side has a bonus - no winds! We all had a terrofic time and will surely return.

I have recommended Casa del Mar in the past and will do so in the future--a wonderful tropical paradise, very foreigner-friendly! This is my 4th visit to the villa and Akumal!

We had a fabulous stay at Casa del Mar! I may be spoiled for all future travel, since we loved the house and Akumal as well. I was so fortunate to find you for a last minute vacation. I hope to come back and bring my husband along next time. I will definitely contact you about a place to stay and I will always ask about Casa del Mar first. All of your travel tips were very useful. Mari and Jose, the Maid and Gardner are lovely people. Angel, the manager made contact with us right away, and let me know where to find him if needed.
