North Side house description
Your tropical tranquil oceanfront vacation home is just feet from the Caribbean waters, and far away from the maddening crowds and the bustle of tourist-saturated areas. While you sunbathe you can enjoy the ocean breeze and be mesmerized by the turquoise Caribbean waters and sapphire surf only feet from your door.
Cayman brac is a sister island to the highly developed island of grand cayman and has managed to remain unspoiled, making it the perfect antidote to the over-programmed resort vacation. Explore the island’s many hidden treasures while relaxing in your own private retreat. Whether rock-climbing, caving, shelling, diving, fishing, snorkeling, bird watching, hiking, walking the shore line or simply relaxing is what you desire, you will have a vacation to remember. Enjoy the peace and quiet and the laid-back island pace in a thoroughly modern and comfortable house that will immediately become your home.
Listen to the never-ending rhythm of the gentle rolling waves and feel the cooling breezes as you enjoy the warm sunshine and stunning sunsets any time of the year. There is plenty of privacy and you'll enjoy the small yellow songbirds and the island's native brown booby and frigate birds that seem to enjoy the lush, tropical surroundings. The visibility in the water is incredible and the coral reefs endless. The low temperature of the water in mid winter is 78f so you can swim all year long. We call cayman brac 'detox from life'. The most difficult part of your vacation will be packing your sandals and leaving this absolute tropical paradise and the fine comfortable accommodations of the house.
This oceanfront beach property overlooks the Caribbean and little cayman and has access to some of the best diving and snorkeling in the world.
Stretch out twenty feet from the water on a lounger or hammock in the 360 square foot beach cabana with silver palm thatched roof. Byob.
Swimmers, snorkelers, and scuba divers can take advantage of the outside shower, freshwater rise tank, and dive equipment drying rack.
If there are any issues i will be there to help you. I only live five minutes away. If you have any special requests -- be it for snorkeling gear, horse shoes, bicycles, movies -- i can usually help you out.
If you’re vacationing with friends but still want your privacy these units are perfect because you'll be close when you want and still have the privacy when you desire it.
I offer a food option at an additional cost, providing food and alcoholic beverages. For $100, when you arrive you can find your accommodations stocked with the following: coffee, tea bags, sugar, creamer, 2 dozen eggs, frozen toaster waffles, syrup, frozen breakfast potatoes, bacon, 1 loaf of wheat bread, butter or margarine, chips, 6 pack coke, 6 pack diet coke, 1 bottle of champagne or a fine sparkling wine, 6 pack of heineken, and 1 bottle of rum. Of course other sundry supplies will be available to all guests and is included in the price of the rental. Isn't it nice to know you can arrive any time of the day, put your belongings down, and begin to immediately unwind and enjoy your surroundings?
For your convenience i have also arranged a special deal with a local car rental agency for those who might desire it. For those who will be renting for seven days you will get your seventh day free. Additionally, if you pay with traveler’s checks or cash you will receive a 5% discount.
Bicycles and fishing poles come with the property rental. You can also use the kayaks, underwater sea-doos, snorkeling gear, horse shoes, forn hole toss and more
There are public tennis and basketball courts, a full spa, and a full fitness room just minutes away. Inexpensive maid service is also available.
This Property has a common owner with the property next door and many of the amenities listed here are just feet away including the pool and beach cabana.
Swimming pool with a view of the sea covered by raised shade sails to protect you from the uv rays, surrounded with cushioned chaise loungers and chairs. The swimming pool has an in-pool sitting area to hold six. Underwater lights (pick a color) for night time dips.

Great VacationGuest comment entered by owner
It was wonderful. We want to go again. Do you have a lot of people that want to rent the cottage in June or late May? Had a very romantic dinner at Captain's Table. They decorated our table and Lennie drove us home so we could really celebrate. Met an expat in the Miami terminal (Darlene). Very nice lady and we saw her a couple times during the week. The logs were very helpful. We did find one exceptional information sheet at the Chamber of Commerce. Some local had just run it off. It's called shore diving /snorkeling spots and has all the info you could want -Where it is, Entry, What's to See and Depths. It is 6 pages long and I brought it home and made a copy to mail to you. So please send me a mailing address. Went snorkeling and diving and I rented an underwater camera from Ed Beaty. Nice man. Got some nice photos. Divi was inundated with a charter dive group-100+ the week we were there. So we just rented gear a Reef divers. Mark gave me another refresher course and we did progressively deeper dives which helped my ears tremendously. I just need to dive more. Got lots of beautiful sunset photos. We did quite a bit of take out as we liked eating on the screened porch. Aunt Sha's may not continue to be in that location, We heard the man who owns the property may put a different restaurant in that spot. They have very good food there and we ate there twice. I hope that is just an unfounded rumor. Hope to email you some photos later. Mary & Mark

Year Purchased: 2013
About the owner: I grew up in south New Jersey in the States and always loved being in the sun by water and palm trees. I've always traveled and I vacationed here several years ago. When I retired at age 48 I returned to purchase a property. Now I have three properties one on the south side and I am renting the two on the north side. The water is just incredible and now I'm a certified Scuba Diver and just can't get enough of it. The Coral Reefs are amazing and can be experienced by just snorkeling. I can't ever imagine returning to the States. This place in nothing like Florida with its millions of people and chain retail.
Why the Owner Chose North Side:
Cayman Brac is a magical place where you can walk about in the middle of a star lit night and have not a single worry of crime or annoyances. Your family is safe here and you can feel it as the locals will wave to everyone including you. Very few people lock their houses and almost everyone will leave their car keys in the ignition 24/7 and that’s a fact. This Island is so special it has become a vacation destination for folks who live on other Caribbean Islands. The stars will make you stop in your tracks as there is very little background lights to dim the skis. You will see shooting stars and satellites orbiting the earth, you can clearly see the band of the Milky Way. This is a Scuba divers paradise with several dive boats operating daily. The visibility in the water is incredible and the coral reefs endless. This is an island of a thousand people but we do have a hospital and a few police officers. An officer's job here on the Island is the only job better than that of the old time Maytag repair man. They have to be bored out of their minds. If you want to vacation with thousands of other vacationers and to eat at the chain restaurants this is not for you. If you want tranquility and peacefulness with eighty degree weather and sunshine almost everyday this is your island. If you come once you'll be back. I am well traveled and retired from the US at age forty eight and I now live here full time on the Island. I could have moved anywhere but I wanted to live in true paradise and remove myself from the busy world out there. We call Cayman Brac detox from life. Many people come once and end up buying property before they leave. Come here and you'll see why. This property is in a great central location nearby to all the activities, stores, restaurants, and the best public swim area on the island which is just 400 yards away.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
If you see more then two other couples walking on the beach in front of the house in the course of a day that would be way more then normal. The Beach is private to the water line and all yours. Talk about you having the only footprints. The peace of the island will ground you and make you feel whole with the earth. It’s a simple and magical place in this crazy world. Hammocks. Lounging - 360 square foot, silver plam thatched roof, beach cabana - twenty feet from the water. Hammocks and loungers provided - byob. For the swimmers / snorkelers / scuba divers I have an outside shower, a fresh water rinse tank, a dive equipment drying rack. Charter fishing available Caving available Rock Climbing available. Book Library - 400 books
