Asheville cabin description

Plush mountain cabin with beautiful year round mountain views! The property includes a hot tub, waterfall, two large decks, a gazebo, and bountiful gardens for guests to pick their own fruits and vegatables during growing seasons. The cabin has a full kitchen stocked with all equipment needed to prepare gourmet meals, woodstove, queen bed with luxury bedding, large walk-in closet with dressing room, flat screen TV with satellite package, wireless internet, gas grill, and much more.
The cabin is located just minutes away from Asheville, the Blue Ridge Parkway, Mt Pisgah, and the Biltmore Estate. Also, there are many nearby outdoor adventure activities: hiking, whitewater rafting, kayaking, flyfishing, mountain biking, climbing, and waterfall tours.

Spend the day in downtown Asheville dining, tasting our local beers, shopping or people watching.

Great day trips to nearby small towns: Waynesville, Hendersonville, Brevard, Flat Rock, Chimney Rock, Highlands, and Cashiers. Scenic routes to each, with great lunch spots. Enjoy shopping for locally made crafts in the quaint atmosphere of small mountain towns.

Make sure to watch the sunrise over the mountain and try to make it back to the cabin at least one night before dark to see the sun set over the mountain.

March to November you can enjoy breakfast at the Pisgah Inn on the Blue Ridge Parkway. A favorite downtown shopping spot in Asheville, Hendersonville, and Waynseville is Mast General Store. Our favorite restaurants are the Admiral and Curate', you must make reservations early though. Other great plances to dine in downtown Asheville include Limones, Salsa, Zombra, Tupelo Honey and Mela....moreless

We had a wonderful time at the cabin. The hot tub, hammock, fire pit, and near by trails made our stay enjoyable and relaxing. The ammenities were clean, tidy, and thoughtful.

Owner response: I am so glad that you enjoyed your stay. As spring arrives the yard and gardens will be beautiful. I am sorry that the asparagus was not ready. The long cold winter and the snow last week has caused the garden to be a little behind. Hopefully, you will be able to return to the mountain soon. Peace Always, Tammy

This cabin is perfect for a couple looking to get away. Beautiful mountain setting with so many extras to enjoy: hiking nearby, relax in the hammock and garden, or soak in the hot tub. The cabin itself is very comfortable; there really is no reason to leave. However, it's only a 20 minute drive into Asheville to enjoy all it has to offer. Our meal at Curate was amazing. Thank you for sharing this lovely cabin!

My husband and I stayed in this lovely cabin from 2/21/14-2/23/14 and my only regret is that we didn't stay longer. The cabin is a perfect size for two and is clean, comfortable, and has so many thoughtful details. It is "off the beaten path" so you really get a feeling of escape and peace, but it is still so convenient to everything in downtown Asheville. The views are amazing and Tammy was more than accommodating. Can't say enough wonderful things about this place and can't wait to visit again soon!

Owner response: Thank you! I hope that you will visit again in spring or summer. The yard and garden are AMAZING! Asparagus will be ready in March, strawberries, blueberries, kale and lettuce in May and raspberries and the salad garden in June.

We felt privileged that the owner has chosen to share this immaculate cabin with renters. She has thought of every little detail to help you enjoy your visit & get the most out of the property during your stay. The pics just don't do this cabin justice. There are several gems that come with this property & I won't ruin it for you bc the pleasant surprises should be enjoyed by every guest. We are in love with this cabin & can not wait to return!

This was a wonderful cabin! The pictures do not do justice for this little piece of heaven. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Tammy we appreciate all the efforts made to make this such a wonderful experience. You have thought of everything -his and her robes, picnic basket and nice music playing upon our arrival just really sets that relaxing atmosphere and was a nice change from the regular rat race of life! I can't wait to visit again! Also thanks for making it so easy to add an extra day to our stay!

We had a wonderful time! It was a surprise weekend for my wife's 40th Birthday! Very peaceful and relaxing! Asheville was close enough to visit on Saturday and then back home for dinner with a Vegetables picked from the Garden. We did not want to leave on Sunday! Already looking to come back soon!

We had a wonderful 3 night stay at the cabin. The features of the property are wonderful; the gazebo and sitting area overlooking the valley and ridge line; the hot tub, the gas grill, the decks and porch swing, and the fabulous garden. And the cabin itself was clean, comfortable, and nicely appointed. The location is prime; tucked away, yet within 20 minutes of grocery stores, etc. in one direction, and only 4 miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway in the other direction. The owner was very responsive to questions we had. Have already recommended this property to several friends, and we hope to stay here again in the future.

The kale, collards, beets, lettuce, muscadines and culinary herbs are all ready to be picked from the side garden by the guests and used as sides for your meals. Sitting by the fireplace and looking over the mountain is a great way to spend a romantic evening!

My wife and I and our dog came to visit the cabin in July, 2013. It is a beautiful place and is very serene. I would absolutely go back again. It's convenient to downtown asheville and close to some great hikes. Wonderful place.

Owner response: I look forward to having you stay again soon! Tammy

                              Owner info

About the owner: Tammy is from North Carolina and has directed non-profit youth programs and a local Americorps program. She is currently on a sabbatical while starting a business to assist seniors in navigating the adventures of aging. Tammy has worked to be a good steward of the land, these mountains and our mother earth: growing her own fruits and vegetables, preserving them for the winter, recycling and composting all garbage, trying to reuse instead of buying new when possible. Efforts are always made to buy local and American made products. After a great deal of planning and hard work, Tammy is excited to invite you for a luxurious, romantic stay in the cabin!

                              Why the Owner Chose Asheville:
Why the Owner Chose Asheville: Tammy planned and renovated this cabin with her own two hands over the last twenty years, while continuing to work full-time. She started the project with the goal of renovating a cabin with a small carbon footprint and utilizing many materials from the mountain. WOW, what a project! With lots and lots of hard work and the loving support of her family the cabin is ready for guests. Why the property? Tammy spent most of her childhood in this area and fell in love with the beauty and majesty of these mountains in the Pisgah National Forest at an early age. When looking to move back to the area and purchase a home in 1991, she would only look at homes in the Candler/Upper Hominy area believing this to be the most beautiful community in the Asheville area. Twenty years ago Tammy began to clear land and landscape the 4-acre property. The project was worth it---she built a mountain oasis beyond belief.

The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
The cabin provides all of the modern comforts in a peaceful wooded setting at the base of Mt. Pisgah. The yearround views of the mountain through the large glass windows are spectacular. Couples can enjoy both the sunrise and the sunset over the mountain tops. The property is a certified wildlife habitat proving the four basic elements needed for wildlife to thrive: food water, cover and places to raise their young. The wooded canopy of oaks, poplar and maple cover the mountain view during the summer months, and provide cool shade for relaxing outside on the decks, gazebo or in the hammock beside the waterfall. The cabin is positioned so that passive solar assists the heating and cooling.
