Seaview is located an easy 150 yard walk down the adjacent beach access path to miles of beautiful white sand beach of the Gulf of Mexico. The beaches at St. George are never crowded. For your convenience, we provide beach chairs, umbrellas, umbrella stands, and sand toys that you can take to the beach......a huge savings over renting them!
A short walk behind the house leads to the National Estuary Preserve where you will see wildlife, nature trails, and sandy bayfront beaches. You may catch a glimpse of ospreys, egrets, or even bald eagles. Or just stay home and take a dip in our solar heated,private pool - there are lots of lounge chairs and a table for outdoor eating. We have a hot tub---the nightime stars are just fabulous!-----to unwind your life.... and a fire pit (get marshmallows & firewood locally).
Seaview is located adjacent to the bike path for a five minute bike ride into "downtown" St. George with shops, seafood vendors, and Chuck's Market,a small but well-stocked grocery store with fresh seafood, meat, deli & breads now located at the BP "blue store." Also a 1/2 mile fishing pier, bait stores, a liquor store and restaurants. Rentals are available for boats, bicycles, umbrellas, kayaks, & surreys on the island as well as fishing or guided tours. Walkers and joggers can enjoy a safe place to keep up with their exercise program on the 10 mile bike path (across the street from SEAVIEW) or the beach.
We don't want you to work but ,if you have to, we try to make it easy. We have a small office with a table, chair, and free high speed ,wireless internet service.
The first floor has a master bedroom and bath with a Jacuzzi tub, a bedroom with two extra long twin beds + an ottoman sleeper (this room has a VCR and lots of Disney videos as well as a Super Nintendo), bath, and a bedroom with a queen bed. All bedrooms open out onto a decks with a view of the Gulf of Mexico. It is a great place to sit and read a book or take a snooze. There is also a laundry room on this level. Linens are provided FREE.
Upstairs in an open floor plan is the completely furnished kitchen, an island and the dining and living areas and powder room. There is also another master bedroom with bath and a large walk in shower. Once again these rooms open onto a covered front deck that is the entire width of the house. When you walk out to the porch you will see a ship's ladder that can take you up to the Crow's Nest where you can snooze in the hammock or just look at the view. We like to sit on the front porch and rock and watch the clear blue water and the dolphins in the mornings and late afternoons (binoculars provided). We have provided great amenities in the kitchen from sharp knives to pretty dishes and glasses.
Bring the baby--we provide a Pack N Play (bring baby sheets), a 2 level booster seat with tray (attaches to chair) and three safety gates to block the stairs.
There are multiple TVs,two DVDs,two VCRs and multiple number of games in our home. On the ground floor, there is covered parking for at least three cars as well as the expanded outdoor entertainment area with the private heated pool, hot tub, fire pit, a fish cleaning table, an outdoor shower with hot and cold water, and a park-style grill.
Pets are NOT allowed and for the enjoyment and health considerations of all our guests, smoking is NOT permitted.
Our rates INCLUDE added amenities: paper towels, bath soap, toilet paper, garbage can liners, dish and dishwasher soap, general purpose cleaner, coffee filters, AND beach chairs, sand toys and umbrellas. Other homes do NOT provide beach chairs and umbrellas....you save you $160+ !

Why the Owner Chose Gulf Beaches
We bought our home at St George Island after looking at several other areas. St George offers the best combination of very low population density (no high rises), one of the top 10 beaches in the US, one of the top fishing spots in the US, and a nice variety of local stores that offer all we need when we visit. Additionlly, it a nature lovers area with lots of estuary areas as well as a 7 mile long state park that is nationally known. It is common to see egrets right on the beach and SGI is known for its turtle nesting areas.
The Unique Benefits at this House
When we go to SEAVIEW, we enjoy the vast beautiful beach and our private pool and hot tub. Words can not describe the beauty of the nightime skies from the hot tub.....SGI does not have any street lights so the skies are more visable. And the sunrises and sunsets are simply unbelievable! We also like to take walks on the beach or in the estuary which is one block back of our home. And then we like to bicycle on the 10 mile long bike path in front of our home that is mostly flat and easy to bike! And of course, we often do nothing at all but relax on the deck in our chairs! We also like the quality and variety of the numerous restaurants on St. George as well as those in close by historic Apalachicola.
Historic Apalachicola is only 11 miles from Seaview. Named as one of 12 Distinctive Destinations by National Geographic..lots of nice restuarants, shops, and the largest estuary in north America!
The historic SGI Lighthouse is only 1 mile from Seaview. Climb 90 steps for an incredible view. Tourist info center is next door.

Welcome to SEAVIEW! We have been coming to St.George Island since 1992 when our kids were young. The initial appeal to St. George Island was the vast, beautiful white sand beaches with no crowds and the overall laid back atmosphere. And you know what? St. George is still like that! A "crowded" day at the beach is seeing 20 people in either direction.... for miles! Additionally, St George is a safe place...from the Gulf waters being gentler than the Atlantic to the fact that most people on SGI do not lock their car when they go out...because they do not need to.
For 10 years, we rented homes at SGI and then decided to purchase. Seaview is our 3rd home and we purchased it in the fall of 2004 when the home was 1 yr old.
We love SEAVIEW and try our best to be sure it is always in excellent condition. We have had, and continue to have, fun decorating SEAVIEW and selecting colors and artwork that make SEAVIEW a cheerful and relaxing place to visit.
Suzy and I are retired and live in Decatur,Ga (a small town 6 miles east of downtown Atlanta) in a historic neighborhood in a home we designed and built in 2007. We do get to SEAVIEW several times a year as we find it our peaceful and relaxing retreat.
Our three kids are now grown and live all over the world. We try to make SEAVIEW our gathering point for those occasions when we can all be together at the same time.

This was a fantastic way to bring in the New Year! Seaview is a beautiful home..useful facilities; we really made use of the hot tub and campfire pit. the island's remoteness gives it an easy calmness. It was a great way to relax and brought everybody in the house closer together. David, thank you for everything.

After a hectic week at Disney, this home was just what we needed to unwind. The family relaxed at the pool, went to the beach and just laid back. It was Easter week, so the kids had a great time looking for their Easter baskets! Everything that you could think of to need was there. Every night after the kids went to bed, we relaxed outside on the top balcony with a nice glass of wine, rocked in the rocker and just listened to the surf and watched the sun go down. The lighthouse was going and we saw the fishing boats out on the water late at night. The breeze was just right. We spent a day in Apalachicola just walking and seeing the sights. David, the owner called us while we were there to check to see if we needed anything. He was great to work with. Very professional and personable. The only thing you need to take into consideration for this home is the amount of stairs. If you have someone who has issues with stairs, just realize that this home has 4 flights. The kids and I loved the stairs and it is a good workout! My mom and aunt had a little harder time. The internet was great and used my computer while I was there to keep in contact with work. The local pizza place had great pizza. We took a tour of the lighthouse and my son and I climbed all the way to the top. Awesome views at the top! The little park by the lighthouse was fun and the kids enjoyed it. The only thing that was disappointing was that the putt-putt had closed down and my son was looking forward to playing. Overall, the island is very relaxing and the home was wonderful. I would recommend this home to families with children. This home was way more than five stars! One of the best places I have ever stayed at. Thanks David for allowing us to stay at your beautiful home.

As we prepared to spend the month of December at Seaview, our family was extremely excited and enjoyed looking at the pictures on the website and anticipating our trip. When the time finally came and we arrived for our stay, we welcomed a month that was even better than we had imagined!! Seaview was beautiful, well maintianed, well equipped, and comfortable. The Crenshaws have created an environment that most certainly makes guests feel welcome. From the day-to-day basics of how to unlock the doors to the luxuries such as how best to operate and enjoy the hot tub, the owners provided clear instructions that made accessing the amenities a snap. If you're considering St. George Island and Seaview for an upcoming vacation, all we can say is DO IT!! You won't be sorry. Christmas 2011 won't be a time any of our family will forget. It was everything we'd hoped and more.

A last minute decision to take a break was rewarded by our stay at Seaview. Everything promised was here. At first, the pool seemed an unneeded add-on, but much to our surprise it was well utilized and added very much to our overall satisfaction. Perfect water temperature of water at 88-90 so we could have been enjoyed at anytime. House and pool were spotless and well maintained. The Beach Pit provided our first meal--owner was from Georgia. The State Park was wonderful worth our two visits there. Clean, uncrowded, beautiful. Took a trip to PCB 'cause the kids had to see Pineapple Willys--what we do for our kids! Overall, an excellent experience with an involved owner that seems genuinely concerned with our satisfaction and enjoyment.

Hi David, Just wanted to tell you and your wife that we had a wonderful time at your lovely beach home! The house was great, and we all enjoyed your pool/patio area! We spent so much time visiting and hearing my father-in-law tell stories of their travels in Europe while floating in the pool and cooking on the grill. We watched the dolphins nearly every day from either the balcony or the beach. We did get fresh shrimp and oysters from Doug's, as you suggested, and they were wonderful. You couldn't have been nicer as you handled the couple problems we had. We had a memorable week and I hope we can return next year to do it all over again! By the way, we rented bikes and my 92 year old father-in-law rode twice! It was a sight to behold. He rarely puts his bathing suit on, but, he did join us in the pool one late afternoon. My mother-in-law, on the other hand, loves the water and our routine became the beach in the morning and the pool in the afternoon. It was a blessing to spend the week with family and we made many wonderful memories. By the way, your directions were extremely well written and easy to follow. There was hardly anyone on the roads once we got off I-185. Very enjoyable. It took us 10 hours including stops. Thank you again for a wonderful vacation! Blessings, Margo

Happy Family Memories Made!! This is our third family trip to beautiful st George. Our first stay at Seaview. The house was perfect for us. We (Mamaw and Papaw) enjoyed our master suite upstairs. Beautiful shower and bath area included. Well equipped kitchen with all the extras. Our son and daughter-in-law occupied the downstairs queen bedroom. Their two girls shared the king master with bath. There was plenty of room for baby's Pak N Play. The laundry was accessible to them ...so helpful with all the baby items. The pool was wonderful. Spent most of our time at the beach but loved returning to Seaview for a dip in the pool before dinner. The outside shower was perfect for rising the sand off. Many extras at Seaview: beach chairs, umbrellas, sand toys, floats. Perfect place fro a family vacation. So love being away from the high rises.

Awesome Beach/Pool Rental with Small Children Seaview is a wonderful house with all the amenities. We stayed there with my 2 children (ages 4 and 2) and my parents. The kids had a room to themselves with a TV (and videos). We loved opening the doors in the afternoons & evenings to let the sea breezes come in. The pool and hot tub were great. The walk to the beach was very easy with our tow little ones. Seaview had everything we needed!

Seaview is a fabulous vacation home. Our family loved SGI, the house and the pool. The solar heated pool was outstanding. Our 5 grandchildren and their parents were with us for the week. I cannot say enough about what a great house this is for a large group. We had everything we could possibly need. The kitchen is very well equiped. The house was very well maintained. We took the chairs and umbrellas to the beach and left them there all week as David recommended. It made going to the beach so easy. Because we had small children, we walked along the street and down the side road to the beach. It may have taken a few minutes more but it was so much easier., We had a professional photographer come to the beach at sunset and take the family pictures. This beach was pefect for the background. We loved the park at SGI. We took the children to the park and they had a wonderful time We walked down onto the beach at the park and saw the turtle nest. The children really enjoyed learning about the turtles. After the park we went to the ice cream store and had ice cream on the deck. We enjoyed using the grill at the house many times. We ate at SGI (BJ's), Eastpoint (The Hut) and Apalachicola (Papa Joes). All these restaurants were vey good. David is an outstanding owner. He was very informative about the house and the island. He answered all our questions. We have rented many houses and condo's for vacation and David is by far the best owner we have worked with. We are looking forward to returning to SGI and to Seaview.

What a great vacation! Our extended family of eight stayed at Seaview for a week, and all agree that it was the best vacation we have ever had. The house was very large with lots of space for everyone to either group together or to go off and have private time (there was a teenager in our group). The house was the best equipped rental we have ever had and the owner has thought of everything to give his guests a great vacation.
