In Barnstead, NH. Located in Private Locke Lake Colony, in the midst of New Hampshire's Lakes Region, on cozy grounds and hidden among the trees you will find your peaceful and private retreat. Relax, unwind, and enjoy yourself in our brand new 3-bedroom home. Plan your day's activities over a hearty breakfast. The fully complemented kitchen has a refrigerator, stove, microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker, and even coffee. If on Sunday you want to leave the cooking to someone else, there are some great area breakfast places.
Which onsite activity should you choose? Swimming at one of the two pools (lifeguards on duty), horsing around at the playground, relaxing on one of the eight sandy beaches near the house, playing some tennis, golfing a few rounds, or maybe taking the canoe out for some fishing or site seeing. Whether you decide to try one or all of the activities, we provide the passes and the equipment that you will need. (Fishing requires a NH license)
If you venture outside of the colony, the list of things to do is almost endless; Skiing at Gunstock, NASCAR Races at NH Speedway, Shopping in Historic Wolfeboro, Cruises on Alton Bay, Water slides at Surf Coaster, apple picking at one of the nearby farms, and much more. Back at the house, listen to some music, enjoy the surroundings from the deck, or if you are hungry fire up the gas barbeque grill.
Are you tired yet? If not, then head on downstairs to the game room. Pool, foosball, darts, Play Station, and plenty of board games await you. If you can't get the kids, big or small, to come back up, there is futon that converts to both a full and twin bed. If you still have a little energy left, turn on the big screen, pop in one of the DVDs in our collection, grab some popcorn from the cupboards, and enjoy the show. Finally, if you are tired, enjoy a soothing Jacuzzi bath followed by some quality time relaxing by a warm fire.
When it is time to turn in, lie back on the fresh linens and listen to the soothing sounds of the stream behind the house. The master bedroom has a queen bed, warm comforter, lots of closet space, and a clock radio to make sure you get up in time for another fun filled day.

My family and I traveled from RI to have a quiet weekend away. We arrived in under three hours. For my kids it was love at first sight. The video games, foosball table, pooltable and big screen tv complete with movies was exactly what they wanted to see. The home is very comfortable and relaxing. The deck was very comfortable to eat on and there is no traffic as you are at the very end of a dead end road. The lake is gorgeous and BIG! It was fun to explore the different shops and parks on route 28. Peace and quiet with the relaxing sound of running water ushered us to sleep each night. We had a wonderful time at the house. Four adults and four kids (ages 10, 7, 6, and 3) and we had plenty of room. We went skiing and tubing at Gunstock which was less then 30 minutes away and had great ski conditions for an east coast resort. Getting to the house might be an issue immediately after a heavy snowstorm. The roads leading to the house is unpaved but we had no trouble on it with front wheel drive mini-vans even though it was partially snow covered. This was a great place for a weekend getaway. We enjoyed our stay at your wonderful home and loved the private setting! The amenities provided were great...just about everything you could ask for. We had such a good time and the house was much more than we were expecting, so clean and so nicely decorated too! The weather was absolutely perfect...beautiful sunny days and cool nights. I had forgotten how wonderful the weather in NH was and how clean the air is (lived in NH years ago). I'm really hoping to be able to go back to your home at Locke Lake in the very near future. What a GREAT home for a family vacation. For the young and old(or those who like to call themselves young at heart) there is something for everyone. The owners are wonderful and provide many extras!
