Accommodations:  Apartment, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 1.5 Baths (Sleeps 4-6)

Keywords:  Riverfront 2 bedroom apartment

Located by the Arno River (riverfront), this spacious apartment offers a wonderful view of "Parco delle Cascine," where most Florentines go every Tuesday for its open market featuring fresh fruits and flowers, local arts and crafts, among other beautiful things.

The apartment (1800 sqft) is one flight up in an 1800's building. It's very tastefully decorated, fully-equipped, and all rooms are bright and sunny. It's very comfortable with two bedrooms (one with a double bed, one with two single beds), one full bath and one half bath, fully equipped kitchen with everything you will need to cook a delicious Tuscan meal, living room with sofa bed ( sleeps 6 people confortably) and dining room. A cot and high chair are available with no extra cost.

Whether you are looking for a romantic getaway or a friends and family special reunion, this apartment offers you an excellent value for money and quality.

This is for sure a very typical Florentine, non-touristy rush-rush area!! It is easy to see clothes ranging outside the buildings to dry, old ladies going to the local mart with their grocery baskets, and patient fishermen trying for luck by the Arno River during Sundays.

It is well served with public transportation, with regular buses and electric buses that go directly to Florence Historic Center. The Metro Station is at only 2 minutes walk and it goes directly to the Santa Maria Novella train station in 5 minutes.
Or if you choose to walk, it is only 15 to 20 minutes nice and easy walk along the Arno River with a stunning view of Florence.

There are metered parking spaces (about 18 euro for a day ticket; sunday free) in front of the building and the access to main highways are within 10 minutes drive.

Cooking classes and/or Cooking services are also available on request.
Fun cooking classes on Tuscan Recipes, good tips and the pleasure to have learned and cooked your own Tuscan meal!
Or if you just want to relax and enjoy a wonderful typical meal at home, just choose from different menus and let me know.

Very nice experience!

We stayed at this very nice apartment in September 2011, and only wish we had booked for a longer stay. Nice, relatively quiet surroundings with groceries, restuarants and a supermarket close by. Parking right in front of the building. Easy access to the Historic Center. The flat itself is large and quite nice. And Christina, our host, really went the extra mile (I'd say several extra miles) to make our stay confortable and memorable. Will definitely go back, and stay longer!

Owner response:Gracias, it was a great pleasure to have met you and your lovely family. Fantastic guests!

Comfortable apartment by the Arno

Guest: fairfaxal (Fairfax, Virginia USA)
Date of Stay: 05/12/11 Review Submitted: 06/02/11

We stayed in this apartment for one week during May 2011. It was truly an excellent experience. The front window view of the Arno and the Cascine Park on the other side of the river is pleasant indeed. The area was quiet at night, with traffic noise being confined to rush hours. The apartment is well equiped and the air conditioning, when needed, worked just fine. A supermarket is two blocks away, with pizzarias and a kebab outlet a half block away. Excellent restaurants are abut a third to half a mile away in the vicinity of San Frediano and Piazza del Carmine. We especially recommend Sabatino's Restaurant right by the San Frediano gate. It's an excellent family-run trattoria - and reasonably priced too. Christina Farina, the landlady, was most pleasant to deal with and most responsive to any requests for assistance or information. A very helpful aspect of this location is that the relatively new tramvia line has a station just a block from the apartment. Taking the tram (which runs every 10 minutes) puts one into the center of Firenze after an easy ten minute ride. Otherwise, the walk to the center from the apartment takes about 20 minutes. This is a very comfortable, well-located apartment.

"We adored our stay in Florence at this apartment. We loved walking along the river to get downtown, and did that walk basically every day. It was an easy tram ride to the main train station where we were able to take day trips to Pisa, Lucca, and even Cinque Terre. We had our baby (11mos) with us, and a crib was provided. There is a lengthy, very narrown staircase up to the apartment the was a little bit difficult with the stroller, and there are little step ups, and step downs into every room which was a bit tough with a crawling baby. Otherwise, the place was fantastic. A lovely view of the river from the window. A grocery store, bakeries and restaurants

Our family of three enjoyed 5 nights in Christina's comfortable and convenient apartment. The kitchen is small but fully equipped. The living area is spacious and the bedrooms have adequate storage. Christina speaks fluent English and was eager to help us find our way around. The apartment is located across the Arno and downriver from the historic center, in a local's area. The market is about 3 blocks away. We strongly recommend this apartment.

Good spot- 20 minutes walk from S. Maria Novella Station. Stairs are steep - wheelchair users wouldn't make it. Property's clean; has all the facilities needed for a good break, except a garden - but you don't many of those on the first floor. Customer service is good, friendly and well-informed. Place would benefit from some minor DIY, but is better than adequate for all but the most discerning - but they'd be staying in a five-star hotel over the river (and paying the price that goes with it). Would return again to this apartment - it's homely. Road's a bit noisy, but hey, this is the centre of a busy city. Parking's easy but expensive. Would suggest that you read and fully understand the parking restrictions, especially the night-time road sweeping in Florence. Easy access to city, bus routes to the centre, or a nice walk along the riverbank. The pizza place on the corner (Sancho Panza's) is good - far better on the inside than it looks on the outside. The park's getting trashed by the tram system that'll run through it, once the buidling work's finished in the city as a whole, and the park in particular. Which is a pity, since the park was once one of the city's pride and joys. If you've made your mind up to stay in Florence on a budget then this place is a really good base. If you really want the fruit and veg experience then go to the Mercato Centrale - it's not "local" - it's a 20 minute walk away (and has become geared for the tourists to some extent), but it's the mutt's nuts for fruit, veg., meat, fish - whatever's edible (the flowefr stalls are pretty too). The city's the nicest I've ever visited - we've come here (Florence) five times now, and it seems to just get better.

A quiet, clean and well maintained property with waterfront and view and centrally located. Easy access to bus station, super markets, restaurants. The apartment has all facilities that you would need. The owner is very pleasant, friendly and speaks fluent English and does not invade your privacy during your stay. You only see her at check in and check out. However she welcomes your queries and is always available on her cell. Excellent value for money. My kids loved it. Definately recommend this place.

This Wonderful Apartment on The Arno suited me and 4 of my friends superbly for our short stay in Florence. It was a spacious apartment in a beautiful part of the city, within walking distance of all that Florence has to offer. Christina was a wonderful host that made sure we had everyting we needed. I would recommend this cozy apartment to all. Thank you

This apartment was in an excellent position for visiting the centre of Florence, without having to stay in the busy, touristy centre. April in Florence was gorgeous, with lovely weather and Spring flowers and new growth on the trees. The apartment was roomy enough for 3 adults to spread out. The kitchen allowed us to cook local dishes and the proximity to a very well stocked supermarket made everything easy. The easy walk into Florence along the riverbank was a joy and the buses were frequent and easy to use on the days we didn't feel like walking or the weather was inclement. The markets on the opposite side of the river were well worth a visit too. All in all a great experience made all the better by being able to stay in this apartment. Fiona Roger and Becky
