Hiker no go
We enjoyed our stay the this cottage. The pictures and information on the website were correct. My favorite was sitting on the porch for my morning coffee. It is within minutes of Waynesville and Maggie Valley and only 25 minutes from Asheville. There are many good restaurants in the area our favorites being Frog Leap Public House, Sweet Onion, Panacea and Smokey Mountain Subs. There were 4 of us and we had plenty of room. Vickie was wonderful to deal with and very quick to answer questions we had via email. We hope to rent again very soon.

Cozy and Romantic
Cozy and Romantic
After a 12 hour long drive, it was nice to arrive at this Cozy Cottage. The cottage was very clean, comfortable, welcoming and tastefully decorated. Everything you need for an enjoyable stay is there, including lots of brochures on area attractions and restaurants. I appreciated that the owner does not allow pets which makes it allergy friendly. The living room was very cozy and beautiful with all the art work and rugs. The front door opens to a screened porch which I enjoyed every morning while I had my coffee and read a book. Even though there isn’t a view of the mountains (nor was there one promised), I did not missed them. During our stay it was quiet and could not hear any noise from cars coming up the mountain. The bathrooms were also as described. In the guest bathroom, I loved the footed tub and enjoyed soaking my worries away.. The air conditioner worked as promise to completely cool the home when needed. The kitchen is wonderful, fully equipped with everything you would need to prepare anything from a simple meal to a gourmet one. Our location was very convenient for visiting Waynesville, Maggie Valley, Cherokee, Sylva and Asheville. We had the option of preparing our meals or going into town. In Maggie Valley we enjoyed Joeys Pancake House, Country Vittles, and for dinner we had a wonderful meal at The Moonshine Grill. In downtown Waynesville, we truly enjoyed The Sweet Onion, Nick and Nate’s Pizzeria, Tipping Point Tavern, Bogart’s, and Bocelli’s Italian Restaurant and our personal favorite The Chef’s table. This home was a perfect place for a peaceful vacation in the mountains. On the Fourth of July, we were lucky to enjoy The Lake Junaluska singers followed by a beautiful fireworks display. The only CONs my husband had was the double bed (too small) and the couch is a Love seat and he couldn't take naps. :^) Vicki Starr the owner was excellent to deal with and even considered a couple of suggestions that I had left for her. We loved our stay at the Cozy cottage and definitely will stay again.

Owner response: Thank you for writing a review of "Cozy Cottage". Glad you found everything to be just as it was described and that you enjoyed your stay. We strive to make our cottage comfortable and treat you as our house guest rather than just a vacation renter. For those who are accustomed to sleeping in a Queen/King size bed I understand that a double bed seems small. With advance notice the twin beds can be put together to make a king size bed. We welcome you back as you were the perfect guests. Vicki
