Large Condo with Lots of Room for Everyone!

Why the Owner Chose Emerald Isle

I was looking for a condo on the beach for myself. I knew I found the right place when I saw the great view this condo provided. With its two balconies both having views of the beach and the inter coastal waterway it has very unique views compared to other condos.

The Unique Benefits at this Condo

It is very large unit with lots of extra living space. Having the extra living space is a nice extra with kids and/or larger groups. There are a total of five TV's in this condo. The pool is on the beach side of the condo rather than on the road side of the condo. Over all we enjoy every chance we have to go and stay in it.

Owner's Map of Emerald Isle

Having grown up in Fort Walton Beach I spent a lot of time at the beaches on Okaloosa Island. I always dreamed of owning a condo on this white sandy beach paradise. I am lucky enough to have acquired this unit in 2003. After living in it for two years I decided it was just to big of a unit for me. I ended up buying a smaller unit down the beach and putting this one on this rental program.

Wonderful, relaxing week in an amazing condo at a great location!

We had car problems on the way down and so everyone was a bit on edge when we arrived, I had booked the condo and hoped we wouldn't be disappointed -- and we weren't!! The first thing I noticed was the gorgeous tile floors and the contemporary beach decor. Then, I saw the commercial-sized refrigerator! It was perfect for three families! We bought groceries for the week and still it wasn't full! The two terrace's were great for enjoying morning coffee or dinner at night. I knew the condo was gulf-view, so didn't expect much of a view, but was happy that I could sit out there and not only hear and see the ocean, but could also see the bay! The 5 flat screen TV's in the condo worked out perfect with 4 teens! They could hook their gaming systems up and we adults still had places to view television. As for the sleeping situation, the room with the bunks, was perfect for the 4 teens, and the sitting room easily made a 4th bedroom at night or a 2nd living area during the day. My friend said the King bed in the Master Bedroom was probably the most comfortable bed she'd ever slept in! She had no problem sleeping through the night even though she was away from home. (Actually, We meant to look and see what brand that mattress was before we left and never got around to it! (: ) We grilled two nights, and my husband enjoyed being right on the beach while doing so. He said he's never had better scenery while cooking! And the pool and grounds, though older, are well-kept and clean. We love Okaloosa Island because while you are close to everything Destin has to offer, the beaches here aren't crowded! The little shops in Fort Walton were fun to walk through one day when the seaweed took over the ocean and we even rented a pontoon, just a few minutes down the road, and went out in the bay on another day. Scott was friendly and helpful and we can't wait to come back next year!!

Beautiful Condo!

This condo was incredible! It has been newly remodeled and beautifully decorated! The rooms are all spacious and there is plenty of room to get away from each other if you go with other families. The kitchen was fully stocked. All the appliances looked new and the refrigerator was huge. The Wifi worked very well too! I would definetly rent this unit again. And as previous renters have stated, Scott is great to work with! Thanks for the enjoyable stay!!!

Best Deal on the Beach

Guest: Ready for the Beach!! (Dallas, TX)
Date of Stay: 05/15/10 Review Submitted: 08/25/10

This 3 bedroom condo was very spacious. We had to total of 7 people and there was more than enough room. We really enjoyed the sitting rooms and the dual balconies...worked out perfectly for us! Yes, it's an older condo but we were right on the beach!!! Everything we needed worked fine and if it was broken we didn't even notice. Scott was a phone call away and was very helpful. We will definatley rent this condo in the future. Thanks Scott!

Not our best choice.

Guest: Vacationer (Blue Springs, MO)
Date of Stay: 07/11/09 Review Submitted: 07/03/10

An aging, poorly maintained, huge condominium complex with practically no gulf views. The 180 degree view from our unit was about 30 degrees of beach/gulf, 10 degrees of Santa Rosa Sound, and 140 degrees of parking lots, other condos, and streets. Peeling paint, aging caulking in the bathrooms, mismatched dishes, mostly plastic glasses, dirty carpet, broken lamp, and dated fixtures. The exhaust fan in the bathroom looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in years, the louvered doors were covered with dust, and the switch and outlet covers didn’t match.

Owner response:I am not sure what happened with the cleaning and I never got a first look when these renter were there. I wish the renters had reported this to me at the time of checkin instead of waiting a year to write this review. I do use a another cleaning service now and they live on the property. The condo is being/has been remodeled in the beginning of 2011. Anybody looking for a unit with a fresh new look should be happy with this condo. As for the view, this as an east facing unit with a view of the gulf to the south. If you are looking for a unit facing the beach this is not the unit for you. This is the difference in beach view verses beach front. Properties of this size that are beach front usually list for a much higher price. Since it is a beach view it list for a lower price than beach front units of this size. I am always glad for review and will take the good with the bad. Thanks, Scott

we had a great time, everything was to our liking (bedrooms-bathrooms-kitchen-etc...) all of the pools were easy to access and were clean and kept. we have visited many parts of the world with this being our first to the destin area I can honestly say that the beaches in the destin-fort walton area are just as nice if not nicer. GO SEE FLORIDA!

Large but Very Poor Condition

Guest: Gdogs (Gainesville, FL)
Date of Stay: 08/12/09 Review Submitted: 09/02/09

This was a clean, large condo, however, it was not well-maintained. Many things broken or didn't work in the condo. For example, vertical blinds that did not open or close; lamps and fans that did not work. Also, not a good view of the beach. We reported all problems to the owner, who was suppose to "fix" things. Would probably not stay at Emerald Isle again. Would rate it between a 2 and a 3.

Owner response:I have gone away with the vertical blinds. I had to buy new ones every year. They are very delicate and would break very easily. I have decided to go with curtains and conventional blinds instead and hope this fixes the problem. I also did have a light switch problem in this unit, prior to remodeling, you may have to cross the room to turn on the overhead light and fan. I am happy to report that problem has been fixed and switch for the overhead lights and fans are by the entry door to the room. Thanks for the review, Scott

My family really enjoyed our stay at this condo. It was large, clean and had everything we needed, and Scott was really nice to deal with. We were on the beach, the pool area was really nice, no complaints from anyone. We would definitely come back again!

The first thing my wife and I said upon entering the condo was "Wow, this is HUGE!" There is so much room to spread out, we felt like we were at a beach house. Everything was wonderful - a nice view from the balconies, quick access to a non-crowded beach (without having to cross the street), and proximity to all the fun stuff in the panhandle made for an excellent spring vacation. Thanks, Scott!
