Boca Grande condo description
We were very fortunate to have DC 204 become available in early 2013. It is the center unit in the Dunes Chalet building at the Boca Grande Club. It's a great location right next to the pool and restaurant and only steps from the beach with stunning, unobstructed, views of the gulf and sunsets. We had been searching for a 1 bedroom BG condo for years and have finally found a great one and we are so excited to share it with you. You will find our warm and welcoming condo a great place to relax and rejuvenate. It has a fully equipped kitchen with a new stove. You will also find Comcast wireless internet and cable television, a Keurig coffee maker and 2 flat screen televisions.
• 0ver 100 sq. ft larger than 1-bed/1-bath condos at the BG Club. The enclosed porch adds even more space to spread out.
• The Dune Chalet building is centrally located with a westerly view - perfect for sunsets and access to the pool and restaurant. Outstanding morning views as the sun come up and shines on the Gulf.
• 2nd floor – great view, easy access by elevator or stairs.
• Middle condo on the floor – unobstructed view.
• Reduced rental rates through VRBO
Our condo is a 1-bed/2-bath condo, which is over 100 square feet larger than the 1-bed/1-bath condos at the BG club. The extra room goes a long way – giving you more space to spread out in the foyer, the kitchen, the living room, and in your bedroom. Our lanai is also enclosed for even more A/C room. It is on the 2nd floor, which gives you a better view of the gulf than being on the ground floor and the 2nd floor is still an easy access up only one flight of stairs or by using the elevator. There are 7 condos on each floor – and ours is located in the middle, which means that it is bumped out approx. 5 feet on both sides. The Dune Chalet Building is centrally located, next to the pool and the clubhouse restaurant. We have reduced our rates from what the BG Club normally charges for 1 bedroom, 2 bath condos.
UPDATES: We continue to update the furnishings in the condo in an effort to provide a first class experience and keep things fresh. We are very happy with these changes as well as the location of the location of the condo. In 2013 we have added 2 flatscreen televisions, a new queen sleeper sofa, a new king headboard, a bedside table and dresser, TV console, new kitchen cabinets and a new walk in shower in the master bath The dining room table now sits comfortably with a 42” glass tabletop – situated so that you can enjoy your morning breakfast overlooking the amazing gulf view and watch the magnificent sunsets while you eat dinner. master bath and updated many other items to keep things fresh. The lanai is set up so that you can kick back and relax with a good book with a great view of the gulf. You will find a small library of DVDs and Paper Back Books for your enjoyment. We will be happy to provide you with additional information to make your stay more enjoyable if desired.

Why we love the Boca Grande Club
• North beaches quieter - perfect for relaxing, long walks and searching for shells.
• Lunches at the Club
• Evening cocktails at the Tiki Bar
• Fabulous Club restaurant
• Hot tub, tennis courts, exercise room, swimming pools
• Gate House – added security
• Dog friendly and people friendly
• Free WiFi
We feel the north beaches are quieter, more secluded and perfect for long morning walks looking for dolphins and manatees, or with your head looking down for sand dollars, shark teeth and other interesting shells and creatures. We love the lunches on the BG Club’s lanai overlooking the blue turquoise gulf water and listening and watching the waves roll in. You can not beat cocktails at the Tiki Bar while enjoying the evening sunset. Check to see if Manny is working. He has been the bartender since we started coming to BG in 1987 and as our niece says – the biggest decision she wants to make during her vacation is whether to ask Manny for a Strawberry Daiquiri or a Pina Colada. There is also a fabulous restaurant on the property in the Clubhouse. Upstairs is a little more casual with floor to ceiling glass facing the water. We would recommend the Tuesday night pasta dinners during the winter season or lunch on the pool deck near the Tiki Bar. Steps away is also a hot tub, 8 clay tennis courts, a fully equipped exercise room, two swimming pools and lounge chairs on the pool deck. We enjoy the lounge chairs on the beach under a supplied umbrella, where it’s hard to stay awake. One of the most peaceful environments you could ever imagine. The Boca Grande Club has a Gate House for added security and is dog friendly. Actually your dog will learn to love going by the Gate House, where they might just get a dog treat. Also free WiFi on the property.
The club’s website is wonderful with lots of photos of their amenities. There is a bike path that runs the length of the island - which we have biked, walked, roller bladed, jogged, and driven a golf cart on that path.
BOCA GRANDE: BG is actually the town on Gasparilla Island, but the island is more commonly known as Boca Grande. If you are not familiar with the quaint little town of Boca Grande - please email us with any questions you might have or Google “Boca Grande.” The Boca Grande Chamber of Commerce has a great short video on the area. It’s like stepping back in time where you’ll find the charm of “Old Florida”. There are no traffic lights, no high-rise buildings and no malls. Yes, the beaches are really that quiet and yes, we love Boca Grande and love talking about it. There are not many places like this left in Florida or anywhere else for that matter.
Finally, a little bit about us: We are from Michigan and were first introduced to Boca Grande in 1987 and have been coming here ever since. We have dreamed of owning a condo at BG and are thrilled to finally have it become a reality. It’s our place to escape - relax and not feel rushed. We want to invite you into DC 204 and hope you find it warm and welcoming. Hopefully you will come to love Boca Grande as much as we do.

- The Historic Village of Boca Grande, on the island of Gasparilla, is located at the southern tip of the Cape Haze Peninsula on Florida’s Southwest Coast midway between Sarasota and Ft. Myers. Nature has blessed this lush barrier island with seven miles of powdery white beaches stretching the entire Gulf side and surrounded it with cerulean waters—the kind one usually finds only in the Caribbean. The adjacent estuaries fed by the Myakka and Peace Rivers converge to form one of the most pristine and productive coastal ecosystems in the world. Just north of the island is Placida where “Old Florida” flourishes. An artists’ enclave of brightly colored cracker cottages are filled with creative delights. At the south end of the island lies Boca Grande (Big Mouth) Pass, one of the deepest natural channels in Florida where tarpon congregate to feast on the abundant nourishment provided by the waters of Charlotte Harbor before spawning in the Gulf of Mexico. At the center of the island lies the nucleus of this little community, The Historic Village of Boca Grande. Here, “Main Street” still exists with no stop lights, no billboards, no high-rises and no fast-food chains. You will find, however, unique shops and art galleries, casual and fine dining establishments serving fresh seafood just caught by the local fishing captains and prepared by any of the island’s classically trained chefs. A favorite of photographers and movie producers, this is the secret island that presidents, dignitaries and celebrities sneak away to, because the island denizens have a low-key attitude regarding celebrity and fame. So, leave that “off island” world behind and come rejuvenate and recharge your senses where Florida is unplugged – come lose yourself in days gone by, for an hour, day, week or a lifetime. Whether you’re looking for day trips or planning an extended stay, the Chamber's website will provide you with the best Boca Grande has to offer. We’re sure you will return again and again, and each time you’ll wonder why you ever left in the first place. Come spend a little island time with us!...moreless

Boca Grande - a hidden jewel
Boca Grande - a hidden jewel
I will make this review brief. This was a wonderful place to stay! That should be enough, but it's not. The town is filled with history, is beautiful, and is VERY QUIET. We thoroughly enjoyed the stay, and will be back. Our only complaint is the lack of rear access to the beach, but that was only to save us from going around the building to the beach. I'm sure the reason is to protect the sea turtles and the pristine dune environment. Unfortunately, the water conditions were horrible due to the tropical storm that had passed through, so much so that we bumped into a reporter that was covering that story. By the end of the week; however, the water had cleared considerably and we were able to enjoy the beautiful beaches even more. The unit was very clean, and was actually better than the description and photos showed. We'll definitely be back.

We had the best relaxing vacation we have had in years. The most spectacular views and sunsets right from your window. Beautifully furnished, decorated and comfortable condo. Well kept and very clean. Everything you need is right at hand, including great thick beachtowels. The pool was so refreshing. We took bike rides and long walks on the gorgeous beach - right outside your door. The staff at the club and the gate keepers were so friendly and helpful. The resident Gopher Turtle was out every evening to say hello to the guest. We had breakfast at the Outlet (at the Innlet) Restaurant and would recommend it to everyone. Great food and choices. We had dinner at Sisters, Temptations (also called Temps) and SouthBeach. I recommend the first two for dinner, Temps especially for a romantic dinner and SouthBeach for drinks and appetizers. The club has a restaurant also, but was closed Sunday - Thursday for the season. I'm sure it is fantastic also, like everything else at the club. So many more restaurants to go to, but we were too busy being beach bums and this is the perfect place to be one.

If you are looking for the perfect vacation, look no further. This beautiful condo has it all! My wife and I wanted a few days to get away and luckily chose this condo to stay in. It is the best condo in the development by far. Located in the center of the building on the second floor, it enjoys a view to die for. The furnishings are esquisite, as are everything else from bath towels to kitchen utensils. There is a new flat screen TV in both the living room and bedroom. But who needs TV when you have two leather swivel chairs to sit in while enjoying the best show around...the sunset! As an added bonus, the building is located next to the beautiful clubhouse, pool and Tiki Bar. So you don't have far to go when you want to enjoy Happy Hour. The resort itself is immaculate with exquisite landscaping and amenities. And of course it is on one of the prettiest beaches you will ever see. When you are ready to explore the island, the resort will provide you with a golf cart and off you go. The village is a short drive away down a meandering golf cart trail. Also, I don't want to forget the tennis courts. There are 12 hardtru courts that are meticulously maintained and they have lights for night playing. Lastly, the owners of the condo were very helpful and genuinely concerned as to our well being. We were sad to leave but happy to know we will be returning and when we do, we will absolutely stay in this condo.

Thanks for letting us stay in your beautiful condo. We thought it was decorated nicely and well equipped. It was a nice surprise (and very helpful) to receive by email the packet of information on the area. We used some of your suggestions for dining and especially liked eating at South Beach and right at the Club. It was great knowing where all the grocery stores were also. We can't believe all the shark teeth you have. We almost started counting them, but decided it would take too long. I'm happy to say, we found a few ourselves on the beach. My husband especially enjoyed the Keurig and your large flat screen TV. Can't wait to come back. Thanks again for answering all of our questions. I would recommend this condo to anyone who is looking for a nicely furnished condo that feels warm and relaxing. Great location - perfect to see the sunset.

We stayed at your condo this week and really enjoyed ourselves. This was our second year staying at the club while we were tarpon fishing. We were happy to get your unit. We hope to return again, and hopefully we can stay in DC204.

Our waters teem with plentiful game fish including flounder, pompano, snook, grouper, redfish, mangrove snapper, spotted trout, sheepshead, bluefish, kingfish, mackerel, and of course, in the spring and summer, the mighty tarpon. Borrow a kayak, which are available seasonally, directly at our beach and enter the smooth blue waters of the Gulf of Mexico. The Boca Grande Club has 8 modern clay courts for your tennis game.
