Perfect Relaxing Getaway
Perfect Relaxing Getaway
My family of four stayed in this charming historical home for about a week. We found it to be quite roomy and comfortable. There are three bedrooms upstairs, each with its own bathroom. We loved the large bathtubs, as well as the large shower. My husband enjoyed playing the piano. The view from the living room window is beautiful looking at the river, especially at sunset. The view of the stars at night is also spectacular. The house is a quick drive to the beach and shopping, but far enough away from town to have peace and quiet. You are definitely getting your money's worth at this place, and the owner is very sweet and helpful.

Wonderful charming house
Wonderful charming house
We ended up here after finding that the owner's Swedish House was unavailable. Do not be put off by the lack of reviews for this house. The owner has restored 4 old houses in a tiny little neighborhood along the river outside Bandon. Read the reviews for her other properties to see the comments. They are all within a block so the setting is the same. I guess this is the newest acquisition so has no reviews yet. While this is a 120 year old house it has been lovingly restored and updated. The beds, sheets, and towels are all great and the bathrooms are up to modern standards. The profile says this is a 2 br but it actually has 3 bedrooms, each with a private bath upstairs, two of which have a twin and double so there are actually beds for 8. It is a big house, bigger than we expected. The kitchen is large and modern with all the conveniences and has coffee and tea provided. It is summer so we are not using the wood stove but there are stacks of wood and kindling. Oh, and the place is spotlessly clean. One of the best and most interesting VRBO rentals we have encountered. Oh, there is wifi which is good because the AT&T signal on my iPhone was pretty weak. You have to get the wifi password from the manager who lives next door.

Lots of Room and Well Located
Lots of Room and Well Located
The Danish House is a very clean, roomy vacation rental with lots of perks. After traveling out of a suitcase for a week, it was great having a large laundry room. We also put the spacious kitchen to the test, as restaurant food can get old after a while. While the kitchen was well stocked with plates, utensils, glasses, and stove top cookware, it could use some more oven proof dishes. So we resorted to cooking on the stovetop, but the lack of an overhead light and vent hood made it a little more challenging. We had our pick of beds with ensuite baths, which is amazing for a historic house. My husband and I chose the full bed with ball and claw tub/shower. The bed was super comfy and tub shower was surprisingly great. All bath amenities were provided and we loved the Meyers soap(our favorite brand). Our daughter chose the room with a full and twin bed at the front of the house. She loved the light filled rooms especially the natural light in her full bathroom. After reviewing the pamphlets and handouts at the house, we decided to spend our first day hiking to the north of Bandon. We hiked the trails at Golden and Silver Falls and then went to Shore Acres State Park south of Coos Bay. Both parks had amazing views and well maintained trails. Although Shore Acres was my favorite because of the seals and botanical garden. The next day we hiked Coquille Point, with wonderful beaches, visited the quaint town of Bandon, had a picnic lunch on the docks and finished the day with a hike at New River. The Danish house was well located to enjoy the beauty of Oregon's southern coast. The views of the coastal marsh from almost every window were beautiful. The only downfall - mosquitos! So we could not enjoy the huge deck on the front of the house. Thanks for a great time.

Why the Owner Chose Bandon:
This property was my husband's idea. I thought it was too large to tackle, but I am so glad we got it! It has a very calm, serene, and stable feel to it.
The Unique Benefits at this Bed And Breakfast:
I love sitting on the front porch with my morning coffee, watching the birds fly low along the river. Even rainy days are magical.
