If you are looking for a home away from home, look no further than the Sioux Lodge. It has all the amenities of home with all the charm of Montana. We've taken great pride in all the details to make our home warm, friendly and inviting. This four bedroom, three and a half bath home is perfect for families and for entertaining friends. Located on a gorgeous bluff just above Big Sky Resort's Mountain Village our home is just a few miles from the newest ski resort in the West, Moonlight Basin. Sioux Lodge has direct ski trail access to the White Otter ski lift to Big Sky Resort. Every single room has stunning views of Lone Peak.

Containing 3200 feet of luxury living on two levels, the home includes a first floor master suite with jacuzzi tub and separate shower. The stunning great room has expansive windows and views of Lone Peak, cozy furniture, and a floor to ceiling fieldstone fireplace. On the lower level, you will find a guest suite, two additional bedrooms (including a special 'kids' room with two sets of bunk beds), full bathroom, and a recreation room with satellite TV. (Crib and high chair also supplied). The house also has over 900 feet of deck space in five different locations for privacy and enjoyment during the warmer months.

We have stocked the home with literature, board games, videos and video games so you will always have plenty to do. And the views of Lone Mountain are dramatic from every room in the home. Since the home is on two levels, there is always a quiet spot to read or kick back. The Sioux Lodge has an instant charm and comfort that wraps you in luxury.

The house is also our second home so you will find all the comforts including a fully stocked gourmet kitchen with all the tools, a complete spice rack, satellite TV, a desk for quick office tasks, a two car heated, attached garage, and so much more!

Big Sky has two... Yes two... Ski resorts to choose from. The established Big Sky Resort centered around the mountain village has 4350 feet of vertical, 400 inches of dry, light powder snow each year, 3812 skiable acres, and runs as long as six miles!

Big Sky, Montana is also famous for short lift lines and tons of open, light powder skiing in beautiful country. Montana is all about open space and elbow room and you will find this at Big Sky!

You will also find the brand new Moonlight Basin resort adjacent to Big Sky. Moonlight's trail network's predominantly north-facing exposure keeps the snow will stay drier and fluffier than that found at most other resorts. Most of our guests find that they can ski different runs each day if they desire with short lift lines and mountains all to themselves! Between Moonlight and Big Sky, you will find 5812 skiable acres of light, dry powder skiing. This makes Big Sky/Moonlight the #1 resort in the US in skiable acreage and vertical descent (4350 feet).

Summertime activities are endless with Yellowstone just 45 minutes down the road, blue ribbon, world class fly fishing, horseback riding, hiking and biking in the mountains, and so much more! The summer season in Montana is dream come true!

What a great time we had at the Sioux Lodge!

Hi Tim The Lodge certainly met all our expectations! What a beautiful house, beautiful view, great weather - we loved the constant variety - lightning and thunder, beautiful clouds, brilliant blue skies, starry nights - quite a change from sunny southern California! I took a picture of Lone Mountain from the master bed my first morning - I could not believe the view even before getting up. My teen-aged sons really enjoyed having the bottom floor to themselves after long days of hiking, biking, rafting, and visiting Yellowstone, and we enjoyed having the space upstairs and on the deck to enjoy the wonderful views. A cute little family of marmots visited us regularly, and on our last evening deer strolled through the yard right next to the deck to have a bite to eat. We would love to visit again sometime, and hope to convince some of our California relatives to join us, as your house would make a great place for a bigger group - 2 families would be very comfortable. It would be great to try Big Sky for skiing, though it might be a bit of a trek for us from LA in the wintertime. Yours, Liz

Owner response:LIz: So glad you had a great time. Hope to see you again soon at the Sioux Lodge. Tim H.

What a great time at the Sioux!

We just returned from spending a week in your beautiful home in Big Sky. Our children treated us for our birthdays to a week in Montana. There were 7 adults. We had plenty of space and the house was so well stocked with anything we could need. The weather was delightful in July and the views of Lone Peak were exceptional. There was plenty to do. We went flyfishing with guides from East Slope Outdoors. They were very attentive and a lot of fun. We did the Whitewater Rafting with Geyser for 1/2 day, as well as horseback riding. Yellowstone is just down the road and definitely a worthwhile day trip. We saw a lot of wildlife as the sun was starting to set. We stretched and went to the Grand Tetons in the middle of the week. It was a long trip for a day but the park is spectacular. We are happy that we made the effort. Big Sky is a wonderful place for a vacation. We felt suspended in time and enjoyed every minute of it! Your home is very welcoming and comfortable. Thanks for sharing it with all of us.

Owner response:Thank you so much Judy! My family made our first trip in 2004 and it captivated us so much that we invested in Big Sky first and eventually moved to the Gallatin Valley full time! Tim

Super stay at the Sioux - thanks Tim!

Date of Stay: 02/26/11 Review Submitted: 03/25/11

I contacted a lot of properties in Big Sky before booking Sioux Lodge. I was highly impressed and would definitely stay there again. The owner (Tim) was very responsive and informative via email. He even hooked me up with an incredible rental car discount through Enterprise at the airport in Bozeman. He will send you a packet of information about the house and area, which I found very helpful. The house was in excellent condition and fully stocked with towels, paper products, and even some food items like condiments and spices. There were 3 couples and 4 singles, so we fit perfectly in the bedroom layout. The roads were easy access, but the driveway is a little steep, so you may want 4wd in the winter. The double garage helped a lot when we had to replace a flat tire and we thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub every evening. The side facing the mountain was full of windows, which allowed fantastic morning views of Lone Peak. The access trail was convenient, however since Big Sky has virtually no crowd, so we preferred to drive over the parking lot (1/2-mile) at the base in Mountain Village. This way we could stay at Whiskey Jack’s after the lifts closed. You won’t find a better deal this close and certainly not through the resort. Chris Recla

Tim. We has a great time. There was plenty of room for all of us. We cooked most of our meal in the house. The Kitchen had everything we needed. The Living room and Dining area got plenty of use. The sking was great. Lots of Snow, which made up for the lack of sunshine. We found Big Sky and Moonlight Basin to be great Ski Areas. We also enjoyed the Big Bear Bar and Grill. We took over the place, having Cheese Steak Sandwiches and Beer, and competint in our own pool tournement. You have a great place and we enjoyed it. Bill Groff.

Beautiful..Beautiful..Beautiful

Date of Stay: 10/04/09 Review Submitted: 05/29/10

I have always wanted to see the mountains and this trip certainly endulged my want. It was beautiful, I think we had neck kinks all week from looking around so much, but then we'd just go sit in the jacuzzi tub or the big hottub and the kinks were gone. A large bull moose came meandering through the property the first day we arrived, which Tim told us he had sitting ready for release when we got there, all for ambience/mood. LOL If you are wanting to see the mountains and looking for a beautiful/comfortable place to stay while seeing them, this is a sure bet. The ride from Bozeman was beautiful as well as the ride to West Yellowstone. Gorgeous! Have camera? Will need! Tim was available when we needed him. There is a local grocery, but limited. Bozeman had larger stores for more shopping, but at least a 20-30 minute drive away. Yellowstone Park was great, but plan some time to drive through it and see everything. I did not realize how big Yellowstone Park actually is. The Grizzly and Wolf center in West Yellowstone was very interesting also. Just an FYI, we stayed in early October and we did encounter quite a bit of snow. It was lovely but pack accordingly. As Siskel and Ebert would say "TWO THUMBS UP"!

Sioux Lodge was warm haven in a winter wonderland of beautiful vistas. The Lodge is beautifully decorated in western themes and completely equipped to be a home away from home; we did bring the Wii, some videos and books. Each room temperature is controlled by thermostat , including the baths which easily handled our large party. We ate out only a few times -- the Sioux kitchen met every need for daily breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The large crockpot alone was terrific; setting and leaving large stews or chili to be ready for the end of the day. We always had fresh baked cookies or brownies ready--first try forgot altitude adjustments. One trip to Bozeman provided all the foodstuffs needed for our two week stay -- Chevy Suburban was full loaded. The hot tub got a great deal of use. We could be a noisy bunch without the fear of disturbing hotel neighbors -- there is real freedom in that. Big Sky is virtually at the door step, with a trail, a lift one street up or a few minute trip to the Big Sky itself. We most highly recommend the Sioux and Tim Hart's hospitality.

We went expecting some nice views, we got TONS MORE!!! We were floored at the beauty that this lovely Lodge has to offer. My family was captivated by the beauty and taken back by the hospitality of Big Sky. We drove from Houston, Texas and took a scenic route that my parents always wanted to do when we were smaller. We loved it and want to go back as soon as we can. There is no place like Texas, except Montana

Hi Tim, Thanks for the return of the security deposit - we did our best not to break anything! We had a great time on our trip to Big Sky. The Sioux Lodge was excellent - we were very comfortable, and enjoyed all the little extras. Thanks for all the detailed touches - the well stocked pantry, hot tub ready to go, Bathrobes in all the closets, Ski boot dryer, all the tools a chef could want to prepare a gourmet meal, CD's and movies, and on and on. We would definitely recommend the Sioux lodge to others heading to Big Sky - Thanks again. Best regards Patrick Molloy

Tim, We are now home and settled back into our home here. Thanks for letting us rent the Lodge. It is indeed a comfortable place. It was wonderful to be there last week over Christmas. Our kids really had a great time. Javan spoke about his secret longing to go to a ski resort and stay and ski with out making the long journey home after a rigorous day of skiing. I think that I also had that same fantasy and it was fulfilled at the Sioux. After a good day of skiing, a prime rib dinner and some fermented drink we enjoyed a dip in the hot tub. Marie was first thrown into the snow and quickly returned to the warmth of the tub. Then she climbed the hill and back to the tub on a dare. Then a snow ball fight ensued with all of us and back into the tub. I do hope that Laurie found the house in order as we exited. Thanks again. Craig Druckenmiller
