- ATV tours take you to hundreds of trails, valleys, lakes and alpine peaks in the West Harrison area. World class golf is only 20 minutes away while horseback tours are nearby as well. Hike the alpine at Hemlock Valley Ski Resort, take a leisurely walk around Weaver Lake, or take a scenic tour down the Fraser River in the comfort of a jet boat. Only 30 minutes from the back country, you can spend a day watching eagles, humming birds, ducks, geese, swans osprey and, yes, the occasional bear....moreless

A very enjoyable stay on a beautiful lake in the Fraser Valley. We arrived on a Friday and were met by the manager (we were a little early, but so was he...so that was appreciated). It's a very nice bright house with views of the lake from the main living area. There were 9 of us with 3 kids and we never felt cramped. The beach is pebbly, which is the norm for Harrison Lake, so bring water shoes if you have sensitive feet. Swimming was great...the water was a little cool, but refreshing, even though the weather was not super hot. Thankfully, Harrison Lake is not glacier cold. A couple of constructive comments: BBQ: The bbq is way way too small for a house advertised as sleeping 12. The owners need to invest in a proper full size bbq with a proper propane tank (not the ridiculous and wasteful mini camping propane tanks). Better yet, plumb in a bbq for natural gas, as the stove is gas, so it should not be too difficult to run a gas line to the deck. Also, there needs to be bbq utensils. Outside Seating: I guess after the previous review, the owners purchased outside furniture, but still not enough for 12 people. We'd suggest adding another seating area on the grass, or even better, expand the deck to accomodate a seating area for 12 people. The main feature of this property is the view of the lake and it would have been nice for everyone to sit comfortably outside while eating dinner. Sleeping House: The small sleeping house near the driveway was a little musty. My guess is there is an air circulation or venting problem. We opened up the windows to air it out while we were there. Garbage: There was a garbage bag left outside after the previous guests left and the local critters got in it and spread it all around the side of the house. That's a management issue and other than that the place was clean when we arrived. Neighbours: The neighbours know when people are staying at the house and we got the impression they don't appreciate the noise and strangers in their neighbourhood, so if you want to stay outside until all hours of the morning, this place probably isn't for you. We stayed inside in the evening, so never had an issue. One neighbour did come over to tell us there was a campfire ban, so they are definitely watching. Other than that, a good stay...

EXCELLENT PROPERTY BUT NEEDS MINOR IMPROVEMENTS
EXCELLENT PROPERTY BUT NEEDS MINOR IMPROVEMENTS
This is a beautiful property, nice home and needs a few items. There is no wireless that works and the property owner/manager was useless to respond on this issue, never had it our whole stay even when I texted, phoned etc. It says it sleeps 12, and can if people sleep in living room but no beds for them. There are only 2 chairs outside for 12 people! No table to enjoy eating outside and view of the lake. Towels are minimal for 12 people, no beach towels provided. Cooking pans need to be updated as food sticks to them. Curtains in master are sheers. No garbage cans. NEIGHBORS DONE LIKE RENTERS! beware, they are rude and will complain, do not park anywhere on road near their house...not enough parking for 12 people provided and neighbors wont let you near their side of road. This place would be terrific with its own dock and these improvements I listed above and BETTER COMMUNICATION BY MANAGER/OWNER. We had no idea what to do on checkout so just left back door open and keys on counter and text them a message...still have never heard from them, no one came to take keys, there was no check out time provided or instructions.
