This traditional, updated, two-story "Nantucket upside-down Colonial" offers striking panoramic ocean and sunset views. The home is across the street from the ocean and adjacent to conservation land, with miles of quiet, unpaved paths for you to wander. It is close enough to town to enjoy its many fine shops and restaurants, yet far enough away from this island's busy town to allow for peace and relaxation while enjoying the ocean view or a star-filled sky.
Our smoke-free home is also close to 'Sconset' and all of its charms. Dine on the spacious deck and enjoy the sights and sounds of the ocean. The house also offers an enclosed outdoor shower and a gas barbecue grill.
The first floor has three bedrooms, full bath with tub and shower, and laundry. The master bedroom has a queen-size bed, the second bedroom also has a queen bed(new 2007), and the third bedroom has a set of twin beds.
Walk upstairs into the large A-frame open floor plan with updated kitchen (including range, microwave, blender, margarita maker, coffeemaker), dining room, living room with comfortable seating for up to 7, HD cable TV and DVD player, home theater system, desk/workstation with high-speed internet, and half-bath.
There are two sets of linens provided for each bed as well as a full set of towels and beach towels. Beach chairs are also included. The yard is very private with naturally landscaped borders.
Our home is not far from the bike path from town to Sconset, where you can enjoy biking, jogging, rollerblading, or pick up the shuttle to town. It is also just a short leisurely walk (about 8 minutes) to the uncrowded beach at the end of the street, where there is also a playground and ball field.

My parents own this house, so I got to be one of the privileged few to stay there for Thanksgiving. :) I hadn't seen the work that had been done since we originally looked at the house (I'm in college out of state), and I loved the house! It was comfortable and cozy, and the view of the ocean was breathtaking. The distance from 'Sconset was entirely manageable, and even town was a pleasant ride (by bike or car). I cannot wait to stay there again later!

My husband, Tim, and I have had the pleasure of renting this house for a weekend getaway for 5 years in a row. Being able to see the ocean from the living room is my favorite thing! We also love that the house is quiet and remote - it is a wonderful change from the bustle of Nantuckettown. I cry everytime we have to leave the house and the island. :(

We were so glad we chose this property to rent for our stay on Nantucket. It has everything you'll need for a memorable vacation. It's an easy walk to the beach and it has an unbelievable view of the water. The owners were very pleasant to deal with and there is a local caretaker if you have any problems. I would definitely stay there again. Even my brother who lives on the island was impressed with how great everything was in the house. You won't regret choosing this place for your vacation.
