We stayed at the Chaney Residence in July of 2011 and had the best vacation of our lives. We were two families with 4 adults and 5 kids and it was a great space for two families. The living room opens up two stories with cathedral ceilings and two story windows that look up at Aspen Mountain and out at the river and field. The huge gourmet kitchen is open to the dining room and living room so it was great for entertaining and cooking together for all of the adults who love to cook. There is also a family room with a giant big screen tv, game table, stereo system, popcorn maker, and even toys for toddlers and pre schoolers. We had two teenagers with us and they loved the parlor/bar room with a large pool/snooker table. The house sits directly on the river and has a gourmet grill outside and seating for 10 so you can sit outside and enjoy the sounds of the river and have some burgers and watch the sunset over the mountains or enjoy the paragliders jumping off Aspen Mountain into the wildlife preserve that borders the property. My son even caught several trout right out of the river there that we were able to cook on the grill for dinner. He was thrilled and that was certainly the highlight of his trip and probably the whole summer. The absolute best part was the location. It is right at the start of the 2 and 1/2 mile trail along the river towards Independence Pass and at the end of the Mountain Valley bus route. This gave the older kids the freedom to take the bus (which leaves every 30 minutes) into and out of town. I personally loved to walk into town, less than a mile, also along the river. This is truly the best place for a family to stay in Aspen and one of the best family vacations we have ever had.Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

I have been fortunate enough to stay at this amazing property a number of times over the past 6 years and must say that my expectations are exceeded each and every time! This is truely a year round destination, with world class skiing, fishing, and hiking just a few short steps out the door. Also the energy inside and outside the home gives one a real sense of piece, and relaxation. The photos shown on this website are updated and accurate, but it's hard to describe the majestic beauty of this property until you experience it firsthand. One word.... M-A-G-I-C-A-L Last but not least, Linda (homeowner) keeps the Villa immaculately maintained, and fully stocked with all the comforts that one would expect at home. Thank you Linda for sharing your amazing home with my family and I.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, people with disabilities, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Wow...What a great place to spend my first visit to Aspen. The house sits 10 feet away from the Roaring Fork River. We had a wonderful time with 8 friends over President's Day Weekend. The house has flat screen TV's in every bedroom, a Jacuzzi the is 2 feet from the river and a wonderful fireplace. We will most definetly be back to stay.Recommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers.

I have been to this home on several occasions and have always admired the setting, furnishings, well-stocked kitchen pantry (appliances) and the great hospitality of the owner. Whenever I go to Aspen, I hope the home is available. Otherwise, I just reschedule for a time when it is.Recommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.
