Arnold chalet description
We love both the fun and serenity that our home in the mountains offers. The chalet sits up on a hill providing great sledding during snow season. Plenty of parking in a lower and upper driveway. First floor opens to a recreation room with pool table, computer with wifi, sofa, television, twin beds and lots of games and puzzles. Washer and dryer are located on this level too. The second floor boasts a large wood burning fireplace, seating for the entire family at the dinner table, another television with sofa and love seat, kitchen and seating for 4 at the bar. This area has a large deck off the front of the cabin and a smaller one on the side. The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes, utensils, appliances and some basic paper goods. A full bath is located on the 2nd floor with two bedrooms. Both beds are queen size. All towels and linens are provided. Walking up to the third floor loft, you will find another full bath, twin bed and king bed. In the sub-basement you will find baby gates to protect young ones from the stairways. Well mannered pets are welcome and you will find a few dog toys and a large crate. Membership privileges to Pinebrook are available to all guests, which include the lake, beach, piers for swimming, floats, fishing, basketball, tire swing, and horseshoe pits.
NO SMOKING ALLOWED INSIDE OR OUTSIDE OUR HOME.
You take your garbage with you. Directions to the nearby refuse center are included in your rental packet.

Pinebrook Lake a hidden gem!
Pinebrook Lake a hidden gem!
We had a wonderful 3 night stay in Arnold. Our party included 3 couples, 3 toddler boys, and 2 large dogs. The house fit us comfortably, and there was enough room for everyone. The dogs spent alot of their time lounging on the back deck, which was perfect. The large table fit 9 comfortably, and made meal times easy. The downstairs playroom was great for morning cartoons, while the adults were still sleeping. Everyone (except the dogs, not dog friendly) enjoyed Pinebrook Lake. The beach and water were ideal for the kids, and even the adults had a great time floating on the intertubes. It was a unexpected highlight to our trip. The owner was very easy to deal with, and promptly refunded our security deposit with 12 hours of departure. 3 things to take note of: The drive way is steep. We arrived at night, and didn't realize the sharp right hand turn at the top, and we got stuck on the uphill grade (tires spinning out even in summer). We put the car in 4x4 after that. Secondly, there is no AT&T reception anywhere in area. The neighborhood can be a maze, so be prepared with a paper map, especially if you rely on your phone for directions. The directions the owners provided were great for getting to the house. But getting to the store was another issue. Lastly, if you have small kids, keep an eye on them on the decks. There seemed to be bigger than normal openings between the deck boards and bottom of the railings. Probably intended to help get snow off easily, but it worried us that a kid could slip through. Overall, a great house and mountain location. We're already planning our next trip!

Fantastic Week at the Livingston Cabin
Fantastic Week at the Livingston Cabin
We spent 4 nights here in June. It was fantastic. My wife and I took one of the Queen bedrooms. The bed was super comfortable and there was enough space in the room for a porta-crib for our baby daughter. One teenager slept in the other queen room and the other took the King in the loft. Both said their beds were great. We really appreciated the baby gates. The kitchen is right at the top of the stairs down to the first level so having a way to block our toddler from the stairway was a must. We were fore-warned that there was no cell service at the home, but my Sprint Blackberry received a moderate signal. However, the wifi access worked throughout the home so the teenagers were able to "stay connected" with friends. We appreciated the dog crate on the first level, it allowed us to leave our crate in our truck and not have to move it back and forth from the truck to the house when taking the dogs out with us. Also, the large second story deck also has a gate to restrict access to the stairs down to the ground level. It allowed us to let our dogs lounge outside and not worry about them taking off after squirrels. The home was clean, comfortable and ready for guests. Everything was in working order. Our family of 5 had more than enough room as the cabin easily accommodates several more. Thanks for a great get-away.

About: We have built many great familly memories at this cabin. We have enjoyed it during every season of the year. We hope you will love the cabin and the area as much as we do.
We rented properties up and down the Highway 4 corridor and settled on Blue Lake Springs. It is close to all amenties and a short drive to skiing, lakes, shopping, wine tasting and the caverns.
The Unique Benefits at this Chalet:
We can bike from our home in the spring, summer and fall both road and mountain bike and we can sled down the yard in the winter snow. You will notice a 'jump' in the front yard. This is great fun when snow covered. We have many videos of all of us 'getting air' over this sled jump. We love this area because we can drive from the hustle and bustle of the Bay Area within 3 hours, park the car, and enjoy everything nearby without getting back in the car.
