Our property offers an array of wildlife and natural beauty... with its sights and sounds....there is always something amazing to see on the river.
A quiet and serene birder's paradise where there are frequent sightings of bald eagles, red-tailed hawks, blue herons, snowy egrets, cormorants, mallard ducks and a variety of birds visiting our year-round feeder.
Perhaps you'll watch the historic sloop Clearwater set sail, see one of the local riverboats, private yachts, fellow kayakers or one of the many barges or tugboats that pass by. The Port of Albany and New York Harbor are the destinations of many of the vessels we see on the river, transporting quarried stone, wood pulp, cement and food products.
For those who want to spend their time on the river, bring along your own kayak or canoe...follow the path down to the water...and you're off to experiencing this mighty Hudson River in a most intimate and unforgettable way. You'll see our local Kingston and Esopus lighthouses that are just to the north and south of us, the Kingston-Rhinecliff Bridge is also a nice excursion, nesting herons and cormorants are nearby and passing trains and historic estates will bring you back in time.
If you want to get outdoors for some hiking...many of the beautiful Scenic Hudson parks are nearby, some are only within a 15 minute drive. Esopus Meadows Preserve is just down the street, offering 96 acres of marked trails along the river, Black Creek Preserve with 130 acres, Poets' Walk is a beautiful stroll and is just over the Kingston/Rhinecliff Bridge and Scenic Hudson's newest park is Walkway Over The Hudson, just south of us. Mohonk Mountain House and Preserve and Minnewaska State Park offer great hiking, biking, rock climbing and swimming just within a 30-40 minute drive.
This is truly a one of a kind property.
Come ... relax and slow down.
Take time to notice what nature offers with each season.
Start a tradition.
Organize a reunion, workshop or retreat.
This can be your destination....
or a jump off point to experience all that this area has to offer!

We saw a bunch of eagles! We saw amazing, amazing lightning storms every night! There are views from almost every room (it's huge!). We were with a wedding party and everybody had plenty of space and privacy with a big group. The screen porch provided shelter from the heat and mosquitoes and was a great place to hang out, both day and night. Whoever built and/or remodeled this place did it with a lot of love. This is a great base from which to explore the Hudson Valley and we will be fortunate to find ourselves here again soon. Thanks very much, Angela!

water and insects issue
The house is really big and can accomodate more than 8 persons. great view of the hudson river. the only thing that really bothered me is the cleanliness of the place, it is clean but there are lots of spiders, insects and frogs enjoying the house!. another thing is the tap water. it smells and tastes bad as if it was sewer water. I don't know but maybe it's the way the water is filtered. I have to say I couldn't brush my teeth over there because of the smell and the taste of it!.

Manager response: Thank you for your review and for the opportunity to address your concerns. Since your stay, we have installed a water filtration system that removes all naturally occurring odors that can be present in well water. Our water continues to be clean and safe to drink and now it smells and tastes great. We clean our house thoroughly before each guest arrives, yet we are located in a wooded area, so insects can be present. We do our best in keeping the house clean and free of insects. We request that guests contact our on-site property manager to report any dissatisfaction during their stay...we are always happy to address any problem or concern. Thank you, again!

This is a great property - I would give it about a 4.5. I have never actually filled in a review for a property before, but we had a great weekend here and Angela was very nice and helpful. The property has a very impressive main room overlooking the river plus a nice balcony and a covered verandah both with river views. It is spacious and easily fitted 3 couples each with one small child as it has three separate rooms with queen beds (1 was a sleeper but apparently was comfortable) with separate bathrooms plus a room with single beds. The only real downside was the water which smelled of sulphur and had a strange feeling on the skin - there was perfectly fine water to drink that was filtered, but the well water used for the place was a bit cloudy and smelly. We saw lots of eagles and little birds. We did walks and hikes. We would love to go again.

Manager response: We're glad you enjoyed our property and saw some of the many birds that frequent this area. We are pleased to say that since your visit with us, we've added an additional filtration system to our well water for the property, that now removes any unpleasant odors that may be present, so our water now smells and tastes great! Thank you so much for your feedback, it is appreciated! We hope to see you again in the future.
