Everything about the house was fantastic, and we got amazing weather to boot! The proprietor was very communicative and helpful. Highlight was a sunny 12 mile beach/bluff walk up to Ebey's landing and around Parego's Lake and back from the beach house. I would absolutely recommend this vacation rental.

This house was great for our family. It was very spacious, in good condition, and a great backyard and private beach area. We saw an eagle, seals and even a pod of Orcas Saturday evening! Thanks, Tom! Matthew and Kelsey

We just enjoyed a long weekend at this lovely home. There were 5 adults and 2 small children and we all had a fabulous time. The property is well maintained, the kitchen is very well equiped. Comfortable beds and jacuzzi tubs were enjoyed by all. The beach is great; there are two fire pits with seating around them. We will definitely be going back.

We were two families reuniting for a weekend, and this house was the perfect place for all of us. We spent hours on the beach building with the driftwood and playing with the round stones. It was quite therapeutic actually, to be so close to nature, and for the kids to play with all-natural elements. We walked over to the ferry landing, and crossed over to Port Townsend for an ice cream treat and a stop in a toy store. The weather was amazing and we had views of the snowcapped mountains. The whole scenery made me terribly homesick for my home country, Norway, where I grew up in this type of landscape with ferries passing, snowcapped mountains, the sea, the landscape, everything. I understand why Norwegians settled in this area when they emigrated to the new world. The location of this house, being the last one before the park was really great. A couple of people had amazing jogs in the morning. You can get coffee from a cafe at the ferry landing in the morning, or do a quick drive into Coupeville for groceries. Very convenient. And the way the house is built gives you great views even while cooking or lounging in the sofa! The kitchen was great, the baths and bedrooms comfortable. Check-in and check-out easy. We would love to go back.

This property is very easy to find with directions given and very well marked with address etc. After exploring the house and unpacking the car we naturally found ourselves in the kitchen. We are all Mom's who met when our 20 something children were in pre-school. We all went to breakfast for the first time when they went to kindergarten and the rest is history. We have had quite a few weekend get-aways and this one was probably the best yet. This home is very well suited for a group of people who want to be in the same area to all watch a movie, eat or just hang out. The living, dining and kitchen areas are all together and very spacious. Several people can be in kitchen at one time cooking and prepping food. The kitchen is well supplied with utensils and pots, pans, and items for baking casserole dishes. We all brought food which worked out well. Anything we didn't have we were able to get at Red Apple just a short distance away. I would highly recommend this home for a mixed group of people, some who want to stay put and those who are very outdoorsy and adventurous. When one or two want to have a quiet time there are several places to go and have that time. Beds were very clean and generously supplied with pillows and blankets. The private beach is close at hand and has plenty of opportunity for beach combing. We agreed that we would love to come back again! A big Thank You to the owners for making their home available to us.

We went with two families (4 adults, 5 kids) in February, 2012 and had a great long weekend. The heating issue mentioned in another review has been fixed. When we couldn't find a lighter to start a fire in the firepit the owner responded to an email within 15 minutes to help us. There are a couple of houses to the West, but the great room looks right over them and privacy really isn't an issue. Views from the house are fabulous, with nearly 360 degree views of water, mountains, the ferry, and the beach. Between Coupeville, the nearby fort, the backyard firepit, the hot tub, and the beach there are lots of outdoor activities. If the weather keeps you indoors for a day or two you can play some of the many games and videos available. The diversity of local sea birds and eagles was a pleasant surprise. The kitchen is fabulous. The bedrooms are not lavish but are certainly comfortable. Overall, this house is a great deal.

Our annual girls getaway has been held on Whidbey Island for the past 17 years. The Keystone Beach House has been voted as the best ever!! The owners were very easy to work with and extremely helpful and eager to accommodate our needs. The kitchen in truly modern and fully stocked. The upstairs living area/great room is large with windows on 3 sides allowing amazing beach views. There were 10 ladies this year and we were all very comfortable. This home has been built to accommodate the spectacular scenery of Whidbey Island with the comfort of a luxury hotel. Our getaway has always been held in the winter so we enjoy the beach at a much different time than most vacationers. There are miles of beach to walk in both directions. A summer visit to this Keystone beach house must be truly remarkable! We have already reserved our 2013 weekend and highly recommend this lovely home.

We were a large group fairly comfortable in this 4 bedroom house. The views are excellent but you are not on a private beach since there are several neighbors right next to the house. We did enjoy a short walk to the Keystone Ferry and wandering Port Townsend. The space was large enough for us to have jigsaw puzzles, sitting area and everyone at the dining room table. The large bedrooms were very comfortable. Problems were that the heat did not work the first night (not so good in December) and there were not enough extra blankets in the house for all the beds. The twin beds are not comfortable for adults. One of the kitchen faucets was broken along with the barbecue grill that did not have flame control. The owner offered to give us a discount for the first night with no heat but after a couple of emails just never responded, so, no discount.

Our family (5 adults and three children under the age of 4) spent a most enjoyable long weekend at this lovely Whidbey Island home. We especially enjoyed the view from the huge windows facing the water, the great kitchen, the beach, cooking s'mores at the fire pit, the dvd collection). The weather was mostly wonderful. Even though it rained one of the days, it was warm enough to be cooking outside at the firepit in the evening. We went kayaking from the beach and I even got a slight sunburn on Saturday. We toured Langley where we discovered some primo ice cream. The home was well equipped. It provided environmentally friendly soaps, shampoos and lotions in the bathrooms. It even had wood for the fire pit and sticks for the s'mores. We tested the smoke alarms by neglecting to turn on the fan while cooking the first night and found out they work great. Fortunately the fan works great too. We all LOVE the stove. The accomodations were as stated and the owner was extremely easy to deal with.

The Keystone Spit is a lovely slice of God of God's green earth; our favorite places. We decided to stay here in mid Sept with our adult children /family pets for relaxation & a little salmon fishing from the beach. The home has a great 270 degree water / mountain view, is spacious, & has nicely separated bedroom areas. Out back there is an immense fenced play area (partially concrete & partially grass that is great for younger childern & / or dogs. Everything we needed for a comfortable stay was provided. Catching a salmon casting from the beach was the icing on the cake. Thanks Tom, we had a very enjoyable stay.

This beach house was the perfect place for our family reunion/vacation. We had quite a large group for 4 of the 6 nights of our stay, and the house accommodated us quite well. It was comfortable and spacious, with a beautiful master suite, 3 very nice and roomy bedrooms downstairs, and comfortable couches for additional guests. Tom was helpful and responsive as we planned our stay, even purchasing a deck umbrella at my request. We are a family that loves cooking, so especially enjoyed the large upstairs with kitchen, dining area and living room all-in-one. We enjoyed the beautiful view from the living room and deck, and made good use of the patio and fire pit. The location is a great base for walks, bike rides, time on the beach, and the ferry to Port Townsend. After a day of activity, the jacuzzi was a welcome indulgence. We had a very memorable time, and I'm happy that we found this special house on the beach.

The Beach House provided an exceptional venue for our family reunion this summer. We all enjoyed having our own space each night yet loved the large kitchen and great room. Our evenings were filled with card games at the table, snacking at the kitchen counter, and lively conversation while we were all upstairs. Lazy walks along the beach, geocache hunts to neighboring landmarks or a stroll to the Keystone Cafe for ice cream were merely a step outside. The Beach House had all of the amenities and a great location that made for a wonderful family vacation.

This home is ideally located in an area that provides easy access via ferry (walk on) to an enjoyable day trip to Port Townsend for great shopping and dining; a short and scenic drive to the "artsy" town of Langley for unique shopping; easy accessibility to historical sites and a short drive to fine dining in Coupeville. The home easily sleeps four couples or a reunion of friends of 8 or more with extra sleeping arrangements on couches, etc. The view is out of this world, a great patio and deck to enjoy the scenery, large patio for kids play, steps from the water and a fire pit to enjoy a beach-side hot dog and weiner roast. Totally enjoyable.

Just a word to tell how marvelous the accommodations were at this beautiful Whidbey Island house! The ten women all delighted in the site, the views, the comfort, and the spaciousness. The table seated all of us comfortably. We assumed that the bag of coffee and the bottle of wine in the center of the table were a welcome gift to us, and that was quite thoughtful. We did drink the wine, but left the coffee for the next guests! The layout of the Great Room made it possible for us to meet comfortably in a circle, to be present with the others while preparing a meal, or to find cozy spots to read, play a game, or just gaze out the three walls of windows. We saw at least 5 bald eagles and several hawks, and watched spectacular sunrises and sunsets. Looking at this fantastic property, I could picture the most beautiful weddings being held out on the lawn area and on the artistic patio where I could even imagine space for a tent! Though I have no weddings to plan in the near future, I hope that we will be able to hold our women's retreat there again, as we all found it most enjoyable.

Tired of security lines, baggage claim & long lines? So were we! We decided to getaway in early March to Whidbey Island instead. It was exactly what we needed. No early morning tours, no crowds, just the quiet surf, magnificent eagles, the Keystone ferry and the mountains to wake up to. We met friends there and even though the weather was overcast and cool, we had a blast venturing out to see the charming towns that surround Coupeville. We never quite made it to the lighthouse, but there's always next time. In 63 years I've never really relaxed on vacation. This one I did. The owner's home is just my style, the pictures on-line don't do it justice, oh, and the kitchen? It was made for the IRON CHEF in all of us. The only setback coming from home was the Keystone Ferry run, cancelled due to high winds. We turned & headed for the Edmonds Ferry and then north to Mulkilteo. Guess it wasn't a setback afterall. Turned out to be the beginning of a great adventure. I still sit back and smile thinking about finding this GREAT GETAWAY so close to home. This been there, done that doesn't apply. I want to go back and you will too.

My family rented the Keystone Beach house for 3 nights in January to celebrate my parents 50th wedding anniversary and we had a fabulous stay. The kitchen was well stocked, there was plenty of room for 10 people and the layout of the house was perfect for socializing in the living room/kitchen. The views were fantastic with a nice walkway from the house leading down to the beach, and views of the Olympics, Keystone ferry and a 10 minute walk to Fort Casey. Tom was very accommodating!

The Keystone beach house was great, and my family and I hope to return soon. We rented the home for 6 days in October to celebrate my fathers 80th birthday. The location was ideal, since it was easy to get to from all directions. Over the 6 days, we enjoyed all kinds of weather, and the home was perfect for both storm watching and sun worshiping. It's the perfect location for day trips to Fort Casey, Port Townsend (an easy walk to the ferry), local wineries (we hit only 2 of the 7 on the island), or to just relax in isolation. I was pleased to discover that some of the things I worried about when renting this house, turned out not to be a problem. The home is far enough from the air base, that we didn't hear a single plane in 6 days. I was concerned that the ferry would be an eye/ear sore, but it was far enough away, that it was actually fun to watch it come and go. Althought the house is set back from the beach, that doesn't detract from the view at all. The great room has big bay windows on 3 sides with a fantastic view in all directions. But best of all, we enjoyed the well equiped kitchen. We cooked some big amazing meals for 9 adults + 2 kids, and the kitchen had everything we needed. And the open floorplan allowed the cooks to socialize with the rest of the family. We look forward to returning.

My family had a small family reunion at this lovely Keystone beach house. Twelve of us, including 2 small children, fit comforably in the 4 bedroom 3 bath house. The house was perfect for our needs with a fenced yard to keep 2 small children safe, and give a couple of family dogs a place to play. We walked for miles along the beach with almost no one else in sight, and had a great time exploring. The hikers and runners in our group found lots of beautiful hiking and running paths, and the more "couch friendly" folks loved the gorgeous views, and the interesting water traffic, from the living room and kitchen. The dining table was large enough to accomodate us all for dinner together, and the kitchen was well stocked. We all loved walking to the Keystone Ferry for coffee and/or ice cream, and it was great to be so close to the grocery store in Coupeville. We could not have asked for more. Thanks so much Tom for a lovely vacation!!!!

I stayed in this house for 5 days. Very beautiful views and accommodated for vacation. Clean. Tom the homeowner provided fair customer service. I also had a 50 person event in the backyard. Pros: Military discount, beautiful area, well stocked kitchen, Tom was pleasant, next to Keystone ferry Cons: Difficult to coordinate with (does not answer phone calls or responds in a timely manner), said he would do things “soon” or the next day but took very long (as far as contracts); when it came to the event, in a previous e-mail he stated he would have the portable toilet out of the way, but it was in the way and not out of sight; the bathroom was leaking and a utility person came, but Tom was not answering his phone and utility person asked us everything (very inconvenient and irresponsible); you would expect someone to water grass if you would be having a nice event outdoors; safety hazard: wires coming out of walls, and outlets; trash not enough for an event of 50 people; fireplace wasn’t working; didn’t return my cord when he said he would Overall, would recommend to a friend with a larger party, but not for an outdoor event

Our stay at the Keystone Beach House was fantastic. It was a great place to go to get rid of the wintertime blues. The layout of the house is great, private bedrooms and plenty of bathrooms for us and our friends. The upstairs great room (kitchen and livingroom) with the wrap around windows gave us a fantastic view of all of the goings on of the waterways , beach, and next door park. It was a great place to relax and walk the beaches in search of beach glass, unique pieces of driftwood and a fantastic assortment of wave action smoothed gem like rocks. The central location of the beach house is ideal as a base of island exploration, close enough to explore and shop the nearby towns and villages and return back for lunch (or partake of the excellent diners, restuarnts, and bistros in the towns). So many places to go on the island that we really need to return for more exploring. We may even find time to view a few of the many many DVD movies available to select from - but first we really want to travel every road on the island and the Keystone Beach House will be our choice. Adventure, relaxation, and pure enjoyment describes our stay in a nutshell or clamshell!

We only stayed two days at the beach house over the weekend (12/4) but we will return since it was at great place. Very convenient location within walking distance to the Port Townsend ferry, quick drive to almost anywhere on the island and stores, etc. and you can't ask for a better view. We have two children (boy and girl) and the kids loved their room with the 'boat beds' and the yard/beach. The outside temperature during or stay was in the 20’s and the house heated up to a nice temperature in about 30 minutes. It’s a pretty big house. Would certainly recommend this house to others and we'll most likely be back to visit again this summer!

The most wonderful beach house to rent. As I was searching for a beach house and came accross the this house, I knew this was the one. More than thrilled that it was available. Tom does such a great job of displaying the house. Found him to be wonerful to work with. The large living room funiture is relaxing and comfortable, fireplace very cozy in fall months. The open kitchen with large counter top, appliances over the top. Kitchen very well stocked for preparing meals and serving. We love to cook and enjoy food, and in this kitchen it was pure joy. The view as your cooking is unbelievable, as well as be in the living room and dinning room. All the rooms are spacious, we enjoyed every space in the house. The kids and adults enjoyed all the toys, games and DVDs Wonderful time walking on the beach collecting rocks and drift wood. My family had the most wonderful time. We have rented other beach house's in the area and were disappointed each time. I would rent the beach house again, and again. It has everything and more than you would want. The location is perfect for activities. Tom, Thank you

This place is owning a home on a island resort. The views were fantastic, especially at night we got to see the refelction of the moonlight on the waters!!! oh what a sight!! took my breath away. The water added a very calming effect.. Our kids love the Boat room giving the kids a world of pretend play. the middle bedroom downstairs gives us an illusion of being outside from inside, the 3rd bedroom is a cozy cove with huge windows with the waterview. Upstairs, the living room is the best place ever, it has a feeling that you are outside yet inside. The KITCHEN makes you feel like a chef, the only thing missing was the HAT! We loved it. "the jacuzzi's", I don't know where to start. This house has a double effect added to every room. Carefully decorated and made us feel totally at home. We felt pampered and refreshed when we left. One of our children started to cry telling us we should buy this house!! ALL IN ALL, never miss this beautiful house. We will definetly come back.

The house was the perfect size for a family reunion of eight people (though 10 or 12 could have easily fit), with four large bedrooms and two sitting areas (one upstairs, one downstairs). My wife and I have rented vacation houses all over the country, and it is so refreshing to find a house like this where the owner uses the property frequently and is continually making new investments. The high end six burner stove and well-equipped kitchen was great for our food-obsessed family, there were plenty of toys and games for our kids to supplement the few that we brought and a whole library of 50+ DVDs and board games. The location near the mid-point of Whidbey is ideal, particularly if you have people coming from all directions (in our case, we had folks coming from Seattle, Oregon and BC). There are wonderful Saturday farmers markets both in Coupeville and some of the other surrounding towns that are worth a stop if you are coming in on Saturday.

Our husbands enjoyed their stay so much, that they brought their wives for stay #2 at the beautiful and relaxing Whidbey beach home. We were a large group and found ourselves delighted about how wonderfully the house accommodated all of us. The large family room with the panoramic view was exactly the setting we needed in order to relax and spend quality time together. For this room to be attached to the kitchen was an extra added bonus. We hope to make it back sometime in the future -it was fabulous! A running hot tub would be the only hope for next time.

Our church leadership team used the Whidbey Beach house for our yearly planning retreat and we're blown away as soon as we arrived. The view was fantastic with windows all the way around the main room the kitchen was great for preparing meals for all of us. The collection of movies and the home theater was great for relaxing at the end of the day. There were plenty of very nice sized bed and bath rooms. Everything was very clean and we really felt like we got away. It was nice to be with-in walking distance to the local coffee shop and Fort Casey. I enjoyed the 6 mile run around the adjacent lake. We can wait to come back and next time look forward to bringing our wives.

My family enjoyed a great week at the beach house. Nine people and our little terrier fit comfortably in the space. The living area has wonderful views and is an attractive gathering place for socializing and eating. The kitchen had plenty of space and a fancy stove. The teens loved the large screen media center for DVDs. The adults liked the internet access. Location was convenient - walkable to Port Townsend ferry and to Fort Casey State Park. Coupeville is nearby and Deception Pass a reasonable drive away. This rental house exceeded our expectations - it had a warm, welcoming atmosphere, the ammenities were good and the views fantastic.

Hi Guests, Thanks for posting comments on your experience in our beach house. We hope you love it as much as we did. If you could address common questions that potential guests might have such as whether my description of the home is accurate, that would be great. Any real experiences that you can relay would be great too. I am doing my best to keep the description of the house accurate and we are updating and upgrading all the time. Whenever we are up there, we have a great time just watching the wildlife. There are several families of rabbits with baby bunnies and numerous birds all around. A sandpiper has a ground nest about 15 feet from the driveway with 4 eggs that keeps my boys attention. I hope you had a great time and that you try to come back sometime in the future. Tom

We very much enjoyed our time at the beach house. The view is amazing. It's right by the ferry terminal to Pt Townsend so we got to watch the ferries coming and going and it was easy to walk on and enjoy the shopping and dining there for a day. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are open and spacious. It was a bit chilly downstairs where most of the sleeping is but the view and rooms upstairs are so inviting that we spent most of our time upstairs anyway.
