We thoroughly enjoyed our time at A Bear's Den - the cabin is so cozy, well furnished, close to everything, yet very private. We all enjoyed the porch from early mornings with the birds singing to late evenings with the starry sky. Even the one rainy day was enjoyable in front of the fire. Thank you for sharing your retreat with us and our pets! We are already looking forward to next year!Recommended for: Age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, sightseeing.
Owner response: We're so glad you loved your stay!! thank you

We rented "A Bear's Den" primarily so we could bring our two pups on our trip with us. Our expectations were exceeded. The cabin sits high on top of a hill and has a beautiful covered front porch with several rockers. The porch was well protected from the elements and provided a beautiful view. The interior of the cabin is very comfortable and was well equipped with the essentials for preparing meals. There is shopping very close by and its only 5 minutes to main street in Blowing Rock. We loved it! Thank you very much for a terrific experience all around.Recommended for: Families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

Great time at a great cabin over the weekend. Plenty of room for both families. Kitchen had everything you need, nice bed linens. great rocking chair front porch. Close to Blowing Rock and any of the restaurants. Pictures are exactly the way it is, great open plan for main living area. Owner answered my emails quickly and was very helpful. I would recommend me this to families wanting to get away. Could be a little cleaner. Great heat system for it was very cold when we were there. Great directions to cabin.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway.
Owner response: Thank you so much for your review. We're glad you had a great time at our cabin. If you have a moment, we would really like to know what you found that could have been a little cleaner. We will address that with the housekeeping staff immediately. Please give us a call or email if you can. Thanks again!

Thank you for such a wonderful stay! You definately take care of your cabin, and we enjoyed it all week. We were close enough to town to get a quick bite to eat in the evenings, but it felt as though we were deep in the woods when were were back at the cabin. Such a peaceful place. When we weren't relaxing, we were hiking! One sunny morning, we all walked over to the Blue Ridge Pkwy for an early morning stroll with our coffee - we had such a good time, we almost forgot to turn around! Another morning, we took the creek trail that you recommended, and we saw an entire family of deer beside the water. Priceless! Roy, the kids, and I all agreed that we need to make this a family tradition. We'll see you again next year! Thanks again!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 9/9

We enjoyed another perfect weekend in the mountains for our 3rd Annual post-holiday/New Year Girl’s Weekend! The house is so warm and cozy and we all slept like logs! The location was perfect for us! We enjoyed a great dinner at The Best Cellar in Blowing Rock and a fun night letting loose at Twigs. And what would a girl’s weekend be without a morning at Westglow Spa! But the most important part of the trip is reconnecting with dear friends and talking until the early hours of the next morning! We know we will be back!

We discovered Blowing Rock for the first time in October of 1994, for our honeymoon. It’s one of our favorite places to re=visit and always will be. This is our first spring, and it’s wonderful, all the fresh air and new life in bloom. It’s the 3rd Annual Blue Ridge Wind Festival. What a treat! The cabins here at the Timber Ridge are the best kept secret, and we’ve thoroughly enjoyed our stay here at “A Bear’s Den”. We’ll be back!!

My family and I really enjoyed your cabin. It felt like home away from home. My kids were ready to move in. ? It was very quiet and relaxing. Thanks for making it such a joy to stay here. I would recommend your cabin to my friends and family. ? Thanks,

We wanted to thank you for an incredible weekend at your cabin. It was the perfect space to bring family together to celebrate my graduation from ASU! Everyone really enjoyed the rocking chairs and between this cozy place and the fresh mountain air (that I am going to miss) we got the best sleep/relaxation. Thank you for a wonderful weekend.
Chrissy Phelps and Lisa McGuire.
P.S. My family was from Florida and they loved it here.
