The moment you park in the driveway, the stress will begin to melt away. Walking in through the flower covered trellis and onto the front patio that is carefully accented with flowers, the aroma melts away another layer of stress. You are on vacation.
Through the entryway and into the dining room the welcome basket awaits, perched on the table beneath the beautiful wood clad cathedral ceiling. The welcome basket is made up of local candies, blueberry pancake mix, dog treats and a sampling from one of the local breweries. Now it’s time to enjoy the basket as you continue to explore Acadia Acres.
A large, two level front patio area that is completely private with patio furniture. A rear deck with Adirondack chairs and a propane grill. A large dining room, equally large kitchen with all the amenities, refrigerator and freezer with water and ice dispenser, an oven, a microwave and a dishwasher. A breakfast nook, a desk area with books on local area information. A very large living room, with a 36 inch television, cable TV, VCR, DVD, movies, a stereo system with CD player and board games. Books for the reader, a phone to order that delicious delivery pizza and two bathrooms. All bathroom linens and bedding are provided.
Six acres of open and manicured fields for the kids, kids at heart, and the family dog to be able to burn off some energy. There are even practice balls for the golfer, for the short 150 yard practice golf hole, or perhaps a round of horseshoes. Being centrally located to the entire Island, to have six acres of manicured property to yourself, and to enjoy the peace and tranquility is to experience Bar Harbor like you have never experienced it before.
If you have managed to save any energy with all there is to do at Acadia Acres, who can forget one of the main reasons why you have come to Bar Harbor, Acadia national park. The park entrance is a five minute car ride, a 25 minute bike ride or a short hope on Island explorer bus which can be picked up for free on the front door step of Acadia Acres. You can bring your bikes as there is a carrying device on the front of the Island Explorer, you can even bring your dog along for the ride! With miles of groomed carriage roads, walking and biking are two excellent ways to see the area up close. Eagle lake, Witch hole pond and Jordan pond are just a few of the beautiful carriage roads in Acadia. With many lakes, streams and plenty of open ocean, canoeing, kayaking and even a sea kayaking tour are awesome ways to travel around the Island. Acadia National park has it all with Cadillac Mountain being the first place on the east coast of the United States to see the sun in the morning and a wonderful place to catch the sunset. From sand beach walks, to exploring the rocky shoreline, rock climbing, charter fishing, whale watching, glider rides, witness mother natures awesome power at thunder hole or enjoy a day of shopping and cap it all off with a wonderful dining experience, you can choose your adventure. Hadley Point beach a quiet, less crowded ocean beach is only a couple of minutes by car from the home. After warming up on the practice golf hole at Acadia Acres head for Kebo Valley the eighth oldest golf course in the country or perhaps the Causeway club in Southwest Harbor an eight minute drive, or maybe the Bar Harbor golf course in Trenton about a 15 minute drive. |
