We shall return..
Dear Wes and Family, We really enjoyed our stay in your home and Tahoe Keys. You have great instructions and the book is very informative. Our family from Sacramento and Jackson joined us. The eight of us had plenty of room and privacy. We lived on the deck and the hot tub was so relaxing. We shall return. Thanks very much.

What really amazed us...
Dear Wes and Family, We look forward all year to our annual visit to Tahoe and our "home away from home." And this years visit was as fabulous as all the others. Thanks for keeping us on your elite list. The new hot tub is beautiful and so relaxing and the new TV is impressive too. But what really amazed me was your to-do list board. Just one more chore. Thanks again!

The location of the rental house was in a perfect location as it was accessible to beaches in the surrounding area. The community was nice and quiet which facilitated nice morning and nightly walks. The house was accommodate to all the person who stayed at the home. The downside was the that each couple had very small children. The home had spide webs and spiders in the home when we arrived. Mosquitos lived on the front porch. Every morning as we woke up and went outside for a walk, we would get attacked by Mosquitos. We had to apart raid throughout the home so our children would not be bitten. The bedroom doors made noise and could not be easily closed. I would wake up nightly to find spiders crawling nearby. The insects made the stay very uncomfortable. Household chores are the last thing any of the adults wanted to do on a vacation and is the only reason I rated this a fair stay.

Owner response: We're so sorry to see your review. We are pleased that you liked the location of our home which is central to most Stateline activities. When we spoke and when you wrote to me after your departure, you said, "Thank you, we had a blast", and I’m pleased that you enjoyed your stay at our home. However I am stunned that you would give us our home such a low review. As you may recall in the new guest instructions I mailed to you, and in the instruction book in the kitchen, we provided you with the housekeeper's cell number and my personal cell number for contact in case of ANY problems. Your review contains complaints which you failed to make me aware of during your stay at our Tahoe Keys home. We certainly would have been more than willing to respond to any concerns you had during your stay if only you had contacted us. We are committed to making sure all of our guests are satisfied and comfortable. We deal with any issues as they occur, so guests don't have to do "household chores. " If a problem occurred, you simply could have called the housekeepers who respond quickly, or call me. Depending on weather conditions, we occasionally have tiny gnats around the front porch, and we provide a free spray product, found under the kitchen sink, which eliminates them instantly. However, we have not had a report of spiders or webs from ANY of the guests who proceeded or followed you. We referred your letter to our housekeepers who are responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the premises. They assured us they are diligent about maintaining the cob-web control within the premises. However, I’m sure a few do escape their inspection. I’m sorry that you are the only guest that felt that our home deserved a two out of five rating. Other guests have LOVED the beautiful view, hot tub and facilities that our family so much enjoys as well.
The residence was very accommodating and was full furnished with everything we could ask for. The kitchen was especially well stocked and allowed us to prepare meals as if we were in our own kitchen. The bedrooms were clean and comfortable as were the bathrooms. The deck and hot tub were very enjoyable, although we were so busy enjoying the lake, we only used the hot tub once. The dock was very convenient since we brought our own boat. Wes, the property owner was great to deal with and provided us with very useful information concerning the near-by areas.

Vacation with Friends
Vacation with Friends
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the house. Our group of nine had plenty of space, never feeling like we were on top of each other. This was easily the best equipped kitchen I've seen in a vacation rental. Also, any and all questions that arose were answered in the binder of information about the house. The setting of Tahoe Keys was great. I would definitely come back to stay here.

Owner response: Thanks Anne, and friends. Please let us know if you want to add any helpful hints to the house instruction book.
Location of property is excellent. Within a half hour of StateLine for shopping and dinner.Recommend Base Camp for dinner. Great food. Good selection for whole family and reasonably priced. Nice atmosphere too. Bike rentals within 5 mins. Boat rentals within 5 mins. Much to see on bike trail. General store, icecream parlor, coffee shop and many hiking trails within a mile. Within about 5 miles of Emerald Bay. Pictures were pretty accurate online, but things seemed slightly older than I expected and the outside had many cobwebs on the house. Ceiling fans wouldn't work in 3 of the rooms but owner was looking into it. On entering for the first time smelled a little musty, but after opening windows was fine. Owner was helpful. We had no phone reception at the house and incoming calls on house phone were routed to owner, so we couldn't use house phone to call each other. Worth noting if you have adults doing different activites. Hike everwhere you can..amazing. Take a biking trip. Trails available not on roadway. We drove to Yosemite and back in one day. Took about 3 1/2 hours one way. Would highly recommend it! You won't regret the drive. Amazing the entire way. We rented speed boat and a tube...amazing. Water very, very cold and crystal clear. Boated to Emerald Bay instead of hiking due to limited places to park on mountain road. We were expecting more access to the clubhouse but the employees there told us that since we were renters of the property and not members, we had limited access and there was a charge for everything. This was disappointing to our 4 active 20's and teens but there was much to do around town. I would recommend this property to others. Had a great trip!

Owner response: We appreciate Sharon and Larry taking time to write their thoughtful review. 1. The cell phone reception in the Tahoe Keys neighborhood is highly dependent on your carrier. AT&T and Verizon work best. Sprint is the weakest. The house has free WiFi, too. 2. The house phones are not "forwarded" at all. One call to Charter Communications fixed it promptly. 3. Cobwebs develop around mountain homes with trees, so we clean constantly. Sorry you found some. 4. The TKAssociation facilities are open to all renters/guests. Please check my VRBO ad for free vs. fee TKAssociation facilites. The TKAssoc apologizes for any employee mis-communication. My cell # is available to all guests, during your stay, to discuss any concern you may have. 5. The ceiling fans switches have been replaced. Thanks for all your excellent travel tips and recommendations for friends. WES

About the owner: Our Bay Area family has been vacationing at Lake Tahoe for two generations. We have owned our Lake Tahoe Keys second home for several years, and enjoy it often for family events/vacation. We update the amenities, thechnology and decor continuously.
Why the Owner Chose Tahoe Keys:
Want to have your boat docked in your own backyard? Tahoe Keys the most unique, upscale, neighborhood anywhere on Lake Tahoe. 750 acres of meadowlands and 12 miles of lagoon waterways that lead directly to beautiful, blue Lake Tahoe. There are 7 tennis courts, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, basketball courts, clubhouse, private beach, 28 greenbelt parks, walking trails, wildlife viewing, and incredible mountain views. All of this is in close proximity to shopping, entertainment, gaming, skiing, golf and more.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
The air at Lake Tahoe is clean and clear. We can see millions of stars from the hot-tub, the cloudless nights are so crystal clear. We enjoy the convenience of walking a few steps from the sun deck, down the ramp to the boat dock, and motoring out to the lake, to enjoy an afternoon of 'tubing' or an evening of unbelievable sunsets. The shows, and gaming at Stateline, NV offer lots of entertainment for the grown-ups in our family. The younger set can ride bicycles on the flat streets of Tahoe Keys or go to the beach in only a few minutes. We are mostly summer time people, but often rent to the winter enthusiasts.
