Gig Harbor cabin description
This small cabin is a great place to get away from the bustle of the city and get reacquainted with nature. It has a bunk room with two sets of Bunk beds and a queen size bed in a partially separated sleeping area. There is a small living room with TV, a kitchen and one bathroom. This property is unique with its wall of windows looking onto Henderson Bay and Mt Rainier. This is one of the most unique areas on the Puget Sound. You may just get to see Eagles, Seals, Salt Water Otters and we have even had whales in the bay.
It is a great beach for clamming, beach walking or building sand castles. When the tide is low you will have miles of sandy beach to explore.
The property has an outdoor shower which will allow you to wash the kids or the dogs before making a fire on the beach to roast marshmallows. Great family fun!

This cabin is AMAZING!
This cabin is AMAZING!
Our family had a fabulous week at this lovely cabin. The kids played on the beach for hours, collecting shells, digging in the sand and observing all the sea creatures that abound in the Puget Sound. There were inflatable rings available, as well as a rowboat and life preservers. There is even an outdoor warm water shower to rinse off after all the beach play. My husband brought his kayak and launched it down in the tiny town of Home. He paddled it back to the cabin and put it on the side of the deck for quick access. He paddled several times, as this is the perfect location for anyone who uses watercraft. The cabin was clean and very comfortable. The back sleeping room has 2 sets of bunk beds and a flat screen television...needless to say the kids were happy. There is another flat screen in the living area, with a Wii and games to play. It was a fun diversion, but most of our time was spent on the beach and the huge deck. The kitchen was very well stocked. I was in the middle of preparing a meal, to discover I had forgotten the sesame oil that I needed. Sure enough, there was a bottle in the cupboard and I was good to go. There are plenty of dishes for a large crowd. We used the BBQ several times. There is a bit of a climb up the hill to get back to your car. There are stairs, with some nice benches to rest along the way. My son ran up and down them for fun, but for anyone with mobility issues, it is worth noting. Every night we had dined on the deck. We would light a fire and the tiki torches. The kids had s'mores. We could look across the water to see Mount Rainier. The views were unbelievable. It truly was an amazing week. Side note: The owner couldn't have been friendlier. She answered every one of my million questions. During our stay I texted a question and she got back to me immediately. What a nice gal. We can't wait to come back next summer!

Family Weekend in Washington
Our family totally enjoyed the stay at the Waterfront Cabin. We weren't sure what to expect, but were pleasantly surprised to find the accomodations so clean, comfortable, and beautiful. We had beautiful weather and were able to see Mt. Rainier across the water most of the days there. We especially enjoyed Monday. We awoke to pink, clear sky, watched seals and a bald eagle, rowed, built a sand castle, found a cool starfish, ate yummy food out on the deck, etc. The day was so relaxed and wonderful. We'd love to come again!

About the owner: I grew up in Gig Harbor and my family spent our summers on this beach. Now that my husband and I have three boys I felt they needed to have the freedom be outside and be adventurous in a safe environment. A place where you have to put the electronics away and be kids like back in the day. This is the perfect spot!
