- Coral Word Aquarium and Underwater Observatory located at Coki Beach is a must! Beautiful marine life and lots of staff to answer your questions. After your walk through at the aquarium you can swim at their beach and see up close all the tropical fish as they surround you as you snorkel! Coki also offers a shore dive for those that like to dive. Lindquist Beach at Smith Bay Park is stunning as far as view goes..long white sandy beach with shallow water that is absolutely crystal clear.. Redhook is our nearby town...it's central point is American Yacht Harbor Marina. The dock is public so you can take a leisurly walk and drool over all the yachts. The town has quaint shops, dive shop, and ice cream or coffee shops! They've got some fun restaurants and fancy restaurants. Walk in medical facility, post office, bank and pharmacy. Ferry dock is located in Redhook...you can catch the ferry to St John from here if you're planning a day trip. After passing through Redhook you can drive a few minutes then take the left fork up the hill and now you've got Lattitude 18...a very local restaurant/bar with music every night! Their chicken Roti is my favorite! Or...continue a minute further and take a right to Secret Harbor...once again more beach, more snorkeling, great restaurant that makes the best ahi tuna nachos you've ever tasted. If eco-friendly is your passion..why not visit Eco-Tours and kayak through the mangroves..they offer tours that include kayaking, snorkeling and hiking! Lots of fun. If history is your liking you can visit downtown Charlotte Amalie...St Thomas has a strong Danish presence and boasts wonderful historical walking tours. The island now has a zipling for adventure seekers, a cable car to see fantastic views, Horsebck Riding, guided running tours, Daysails and Powerboat trips, fishing trips, Windsurfing, Parasailing Jeep rentals. ...moreless

Birthday beach vacation
Birthday beach vacation
My sister and I stayed in Barbara's Point Pleasant Resort Villa for a week in November and had a great time relaxing at the quiet beach-side resort. We went to Sugar Beach daily, a small but fantastic beach with beach chairs and only a few other visitors at any given time. We were happy to be able to hang out here, just a short distance from the big resort beach next door, but so much quieter. When we arrived, we found the Point Pleasant Villa in beautiful shape, ready for us to stay with hotel-quality sheets and towels. The bed is a huge king, and the unit is spacious (as well as the bathroom) so sharing the space was not an issue. The kitchenette is well-stocked with utensils, dishes, cookware, etc. and allowed us to make our own meals when we wanted to. We also arrived to find rum and coke as well as breakfast for the next morning - awesome! The villa is even more impressive in real life (photos can't do the unit's neatness and the great view justice). The porch was one of our favorite places to hang out, with comfortable chairs and a great view of the water and even St. John. Point Pleasant is a great location for getting to Red Hook, which is a fun place to find happy hour, bar food and nightlife, as well as the ferry to St. John. We took the safari bus often, which is a convenient way to get around the island (and always an adventure). Renting a car would make getting around even easier (it is a very steep hill to walk back into Point Pleasant Resort) but cabs are always available. Barbara's response time and answers to questions while were were booking the unit was amazing. She took the time to follow up promptly and kept in touch to answer questions as we got near to our reservation date. She provided contact info for herself and the housekeeper in case we needed anything during our stay. I hope to stay at Barbara's villa again in the future and I would definitely recommend it to anyone. Barbara has thought of all the details and you will find things (such as big, comfy beach towels) at the unit waiting for you that you wouldn't have even thought to pack yourself.

Beautiful View and Great Location
Beautiful View and Great Location
Our condo was perfect for us. We had good easy to use directions to get to the resort from the airport. The condo was both clean and picture perfect. Two whole walls were windows with amazing views. The condo is right in the middle of the resort. Close to one of the pools and the waterfront. We saw the waterfront restaurant and bar under renovation while we were there. It is going to be great and just a short walk from the condo. We cooked breakfast and a couple dinners. The kitchen is small but perfect for a vacation. I really liked the flat cooktop. The bed was comfortable and we slept like babies at night. We were on the east end of the island which perfect for going to the beach, traveling to St. John and day trips to the BVI (we really enjoyed). We couldn't have enjoyed ourselves more and we will definitely be back.

The Seaside Villa was the perfect place for me to stay during my visit in St Thomas. The owners made the place so cozy and accommodating! Point Pleasant is in a fantastic location in St Thomas. Easy access to Red Hook, where there are great restaurants, the ferry to St John, and Lindquist Beach. We loved getting take out pizza from Island Times and eating it on the deck with some Caribs for dinner. What an amazing view. I highly recommend the seaside villa for anyone traveling to St Thomas!

My boyfriend and I stayed at the beginning of July. Amazing!!! Barbara is such a wonderful, sweet, helpful hostess. The villa is spacious and perfect for a couple on a honeymoon or romantic getaway. You can tell she's put a lot of work into updating the villa; the kitchen & especially the bathroom have many elegant touches (the kind of renovated bathroom I dream of!) Has huge glass sliding doors on 2 sides of the main room & wrap around balcony with a breathtaking, unobstructed view of the sea - this was one of the best parts of the accommodations. We ate our breakfast outside everyday, the villa is just high enough on the hillside that you get the warm breezes off the ocean and the stunning, sweeping views of the British Virgin Islands but you can still hear the waves. This is definitely one of the better villas in terms of location. You can hardly tell that there's other villas around you, the ones in front are below you and hidden by trees and the ones to the side are behind you. I loved the resort, it was very quiet. Maybe it was because it was off season (in August, when the weather was still absolutely perfect) but it almost felt like we were the only guests there. It was definitely a bit of climbing steps and steep inclines to get around but it was tons of fun exploring the place, very beautiful grounds. We only went to Sugar Beach, it's a small but beautiful beach. It's blocked off by rocks on both sides and hidden from the big family-style resort next to it so it's very private. Good snorkeling too. We had the whole beach to ourselves almost the entire day, water was warm and sparkling clear. The staff was friendly and helpful in recommending places to eat, buy groceries, where the best beaches were, etc. We rented a scooter for pretty cheap, which is a perfect way to get around the resort and the island IF you have experience driving 2-wheel vehicles: the hills and winding (often hairpin turns) roads can be a bit challenging even for experienced riders. Good location on the island, away from all the busy spots but still a quick drive to Charlotte Amalie and to Red Hook. The safari buses are cheap and will stop out front of the resort entrance, but consider renting a car (also pretty cheap) if you want more freedom exploring the island. We loved our stay at Barbara's villa and can't wait to go back!! August 2013

This was such a comfortable place to stay! The island was beautiful and a trip to the neighbor island St. John topped off the vacation!! I would add, if you plan on going and staying at Point Pleasant make sure you can walk comfortably and don't have knee or hip problems - lots of steps - but doesn't take a way from the beauty of the resort! The room had everything that you needed to make your trip complete and the owner explained everything in detail to get you there and what you needed for a wonderful, fulfilling trip!! Walking out on the wrap around terrace in the morning for coffee or for a fun dinner on it completed the week! Thank you for a wonderful 6 days!!

Me and my wife took a little vacation to escape for a while. Point pleasant was just the place to stay. Every morning I was able to walk down to the beach through beautiful paths and snorkel while my wife enjoyed a book. Before heading out for the day, I would jump into one of the pools to rinse off. The upper terrcace pool had fantastic views. Having a car made it very easy to enjoy all the great beaches minutes from the resort such as Secret Harbor, and Linquest which were 2 of my favorites. The room was very clean and comfortable and coming home every night to that amazing view was an added bonus. I have been to the carribean many times and this was by far my favorite vacation. I highly recommend Point Pleasant Resort

The place was as described, and very close to the best beaches in the island. The apartment has all you need for a comfortable vacation and the views are really beautiful. Internet works fine and the owners are the best people you can wish for, always available and classy.
