My mother and I stayed here for 6 nights during the Olympics. It was a great flat in a great location - maybe 5-7 minutes' walk from the Russell Square station. Mike was excellent to work with - we stayed in another of his flats later in our trip and had a good experience there as well. He gave us a quick tour when we arrived so that we understood everything. The photos are an accurate depiction of the flat. The beds were good, the shower was good - everything was good. (Do note that the flat is at the top of 3 flights of stairs - not a problem for us, but for someone with limited mobility, it could be a concern.) I'd happily recommend the flat to my friends.Owner response: Thank you for the geat review. There is a small lift for anyone who does not want to walk up.

My family of 4 stayed in the flat for a week. The location was excellent: a pleasant neighborhood and a brief walk to the Russell Square underground (which is on the direct line to Heathrow) and to a grocery store and restaurants. The flat served us well in terms of size and amenities. Perhaps most important, the owner was responsive to questions so I felt secure with the booking and was not disappointed. All told, a very positive experience.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived, walking into a light-filled flat that was just recently remodeled, top to bottom. (Well, maybe not the kitchen, but no matter.) Prior site pictures and reviews indicated a slightly shabby but comfortable place to stay, with some issues with the bathroom. All that has been resolved. Still comfortable, but with a spotless bathroom and clean, airy rooms. Lovely view out the master bedroom window. The location is excellent, close to a Tube stop, with lots of restaurants nearby. Very welcome after long days of walking and sightseeing. We had an issue with the hot water when we first arrived, but the owner was very responsive and had it fixed right away. I'd definitely stay here again.Owner response: Thank you for the great review. It is good to know you liked the refurbishment, particularly the new bathroom.

It didn't start well.. They mixed up the day we were arriving so no one was there to meet us with the keys. Luckily the guy cleaning the flat was there when I tried buzzing up. After a long transatlantic trip we werent allowed up to rest til they finished cleaning. We had to wander around for a few hours.. The actual apartment was nice but the carpets desperately need to be replaced. There were also holes by the ceiling fan in the main room, holes in the wall in the 2nd bedroom, and holes by the radiator in the bathroo that was disturbing. There was also heavy mold on the ceiling of the shower. The good part was the price value and the location of the flat. We were near the park which was lovely and it was near the conference we had to attend. Our contact mike was nice and he did apologize for the mixup. As a suggestion, you should have an introductory packet stating where the nearest market is, nearby restaurants, and how to use the phone. The location of the garbage and the door code too should be included. We loved London and we'd stay here again!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

We are a family of 4 (2 small kids) who stayed here for one week in October. There were many things that we liked about this flat. I think the best part was the location - walking distance to Covent Garden, lots of shops and restaurants, a movie theater, a FANTASTIC playground, etc The beds were very comfy and the kitchen was useable. We had a good internet connection during our stay and there is a nice, large desk in one of the bedrooms that worked well as an office area. The flat was also very clean when we arrived, but it didn't give the best first impression - lots of stains on the carpet and very shabby furniture. The only real turnoff was the mold in the shower (there was a very strong mold odor when you opened the shower door). Also cigarette smoke came in the living room each evening from (my guess) the apartment below. It was strong enough of a smell that we all retreated to the back bedrooms early in the evening to hang out. The elevator broke down during our stay. It stopped working a few days into our stay and was still not working when we left 3-4 days later. Not that big an issue until we had to carry all our stuff down 3 flights of stairs. We still liked the place in spite of the negatives.Owner response: Thank you for your review and I am pleased you had an enjoyable stay. The locaion and the local facilities are fantastic. Sorry you had a problem with the lift, it is now working again but it does take the management company a couple of days to fix it. I am also aware of the mould in the shower cubical and measures are being taken to improve the ventilation and redecorate to solve this problem.

Our holiday was a very late decision and due to that everything was pretty much booked. When we finally found this apartment we weren't fully convinced that it would do mainly because we didn't like how it looked, but we went for it anyway. Let me begin by saying it looks "much" better in reality than it does in the pictures. There's a much bigger TV in the living instead of that tiny one shown in the pictures which we were dreading because my dad enjoys his TV times, and the living room in general is bigger and sunnier. The double bedroom is surprisingly big and the double bed was large and comfortable for the three of us. The apartment while very basic was clean when we arrived and had all the equipment needed. The kitchen was very bare not even salt so we had to buy everything which is okey but some basic starters would've been nice. What I really loved about the apartment was the location. it's in a very safe quiet street. You could see people strolling at all times so it feels very safe but not many cars so basically no noise and the bedrooms are located at the back of the apartment for a good night sleep. The nearest station is Russell square which in on the Piccadilly Line and the best thing about it is that it goes straight to Harrods .. Holborn station was also a walkable distant away for Central Line which goes to Oxford Street. Many cafes and restaurants are a very short walk away (2 minutes) and while we didn't eat there so I can't really recommend one of them It was nice to have the option to do so. The elevator broke down at the end of the stay which caused us some trouble getting our bags down since it's on the 3rd floor but aside from that we liked everything about the apartment. And while we didn't really get to meet Mike he was always only an SMS away. It wasn't perfect by any mean or luxurious for that matter but it was so comfortable and cozy that we fell in love with it.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, tourists without a car, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing, age 55+.
Owner response: Thank you for your review. I will take some more pictures to show the apartment better. The lift is working again, the engineers came in the next day following the report to the building managers. I am very pleased you enjoyed your stay.

Having never used homeaway before, I was a little nervous about how it would all work out. I am pleased to say that the experience exceeded my expectations. The apartment was lovely, perfect for the two of us there to attend a conference and do some sightseeing. Absolutely amazing location! So many wonderful things in close walking distance - restaurants, grocery stores (see the People's Grocery around the corner), shops etc. And a bit farther off (not too far) other great things to see, all walking distance. The apartment was clean and cozy and contained all the amenities we could have needed. Will hope for an excuse to go to London again soon and will definitely get in touch with the owner to see if this apartment is available when I do. Cheers!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, tourists without a car, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My family and me stayed in this apartment for 4 nights. We were really satisfied. It coincides 100% with the pictures. It was cleaned and totally equiped. It is located in a safe and quiet area full of young people because there are some halls of residence over there. It is next to Russel Square Station (5 min) and also to King's Cross Station (20min). There is a Tesco 24h and a Waitrose near the apartment. I would recommend this apartment to everyone that want to have a nice stay in London. Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

ARRecommended for: Tourists without a car, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
