Three Private, Romantic and UNIQUE Honeymoon Vacation Cottages for Couples or any one or two people. We offer a tropical paradise overlooking the Kona Coast on the Big Island of Hawaii. We are in a mountain suburb approx 18 miles south of Kailua-Kona town. You’ll love the stunning ocean and sunset views and fantastic landscaping from our 1200' elevation above the City of Refuge National Park. Kona is the sunny side of the Big Island.
Located in South Kona on a private 3 acre hillside estate, we are a world away from the heat, humidity, tourists, non-stop noise and congested traffic of Kailua-Kona, especially along Alii Dr. We are close to picturesque sandy beaches, the Island’s best snorkeling, grocery markets, restaurants and shops.
Sit on your own private lanai or patio and enjoy a Pina Colada while watching the sunset. Cook fresh fish or throw a steak on your own private BBQ or in your kitchen. Wake up to the lovely sound of bird songs, sit in the gardens and commune with nature. Watch the coffee beans grow, stroll the grounds with your camera and get some incredible pictures to make the memories last.
Relax and rejuvenate in a truly one of a kind accommodation. With your own kitchen you can cook what you want, when you want, have complete privacy and seclusion and most importantly, no common walls between you and your neighbors.
All Cottages are separated by space and landscaping. You will not see nor hear us or the other guests. They are each a small house and are completely self-contained units.

The Cottages have an old Hawaii ambiance and are decorated as if you actually lived in them. Nothing sterile, boring or white-washed here.
All have fully-equipped kitchens and bathrooms: tubs & showers in the Hawaiian and Jungle Cottages, with shower only in the Banana Bungalow. All have living room areas and bedroom areas. Each Cottage has both indoor and outdoor dining areas.
Luxury linens and towels, high quality beds, complimentary robes to wear during your stay: Cal King bed in the Banana Bungalow. Queen in both the Hawaiian and Jungle Cottages.
Masks, snorkels, flips, cold coolers, boogie boards, beach umbrellas, beach towels all included.
Premium-channels Satellite TV including Satellite music and DVD players. Small DVD library in each Cottage.

The Banana Bungalow has it's own ocean-facing lanai also.

- Ocean View : The Jungle Cottage and Banana Bungalow each have ocean, garden and sunset views. The Hawaiian Cottage has a partial ocean view plus the Koi pond with waterfall and a private Gazebo.
- Mountain View : All three Cottages have mountain views and are surrounded by lush tropical landscaping. None of the Cottages are visible to each other! Complete privacy!

- WiFi (Wireless Internet) : Free wireless connection is available inside the Hawaiian Cottage, and on our lanai for the Jungle Cottage and Banana Bungalow guests.

Why the Owner Chose Honaunau
We felt this was the BEST location on the entire island to live. We love that it's naturally tropical, with tons of banana and other fruit trees. We liked that it was on the sunny side of the island and just a little bit away from town. The pace is slower down here yet we're not far from civilization. We liked the ocean, sunset, garden and mountain views out of all our windows and the Cottages have the same views. We didn't like the Hilo side nor it's constant rain. We didn't like the lower elevations because they were too hot and the vegetation was "scrubby". We just found this gem of a property that was built by a contractor and his artsy wife as their dream home but they wanted to build another dream home in Maui.
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage
We believe we are in the perfect location for a romantic or private get-a-way. We are a gated property and are the last house on a private road. There is no office, and no people will be coming around looking into your Cottage or looking for an office. We do not have a sign and most of our guests are repeat, referrals and from our internet and Hawaii Magazine advertising. The area is basically rural and there is no through traffic being that we are the last house on the road. Most of our guests are self-sufficient, independent travelers who are looking for privacy and quiet. We are in the Kona coffee growing belt, up above the highway, and enjoy daytime temperatures of approximately 76 degrees year round. Our landscaping is mature and the grounds are manicured and beautiful. The Cottages are well-maintained and clean. If you want some action, just hop in your car, drive down the private road and you'll be at the highway and near beaches and other activities.
