We just wrapped up a week at the Pharaoh View Lodge and loved every minute of it! The home was very large (we had 10 adults & 13 kids), it was very clean, and was very cozy. The views from inside the large kitchen and family room area were amazing, and the deck right off the kitchen (with a professional-grade grill) was the perfect spot to relax on some rocking chairs and take in the mountain and lake views. There was a place for campfires on the sandy beach area at the lake's edge (the Lodge even provides firewood!) and a great diving platform about 50-yards off shore, which was easy to reach because of the kayaks, canoe, paddle boat and row boat (with life jackets) that the Lodge provides. Note- the lakefront with beach isn't good for swimming so you have to get out to the dock to swim, but we didn't find that to be a hassle at all, and the lake is at least 8-feet deep pretty close to shore. We also rented a boat from EZ Marine and it was great and not too expensive. We anchored it near the diving dock and the kids had a blast being pulled around on a tube (which EZ Marine rents for about $25 a day). The kitchen is well equipped, as is the huge stone fireplace room -which has loads of games, a large LCD TV with hi definition, and tons of very large, comfortable leather couches for relaxing. The bathrooms are remodeled and the bedrooms are nicely decorated. Lake George & other attractions are nearby, so be sure to check out the beautiful public beach in the small town of Hague! Over all, a great house with great views made for a relaxing mountain vacation.

We have had a week-long family reunion at Pharaoh View Lodge for three years in a row - and have no plans of giving up our week in July! The place accommodates our crew - ranging in age from 1 to 95 and numbering in the excess of 25 - depending on the day. Don't let the pictures on the website fool you! The lodge is beautiful and extremely comfortable. The living room is massive and filled with extremely comfortable furniture - reminds us of the great camps of years gone by. For a crowd like ours, the 3 refrigerators are VERY welcome! And, the owners are incredibly responsive to comments and requests! For example, this year we arrived with a one year old - expecting to find the high chair that had been there previous years but found none. When we called to ask where it might be stored, we were told they had taken it for cleaning and the next morning a brand new high chair was delivered! This level of responsiveness delighted us but did not surprise us. The owners are delightful and caring people who clearly want their renters to enjoy the beautiful property. Every year we add to the repertoire of things we do.... kayaking, swimming (serious swimmers will appreciate the swim raft out in the lake while the little ones will enjoy the sandy beach), beach volley ball, horseshoes, and endless board games and card games - all onsite and provided by the lodge. We generally rent a motor boat of some sort, and some of us check out the museums, bring our bikes and ride around the lake (beautiful!), go shopping at the outlets near Lake George, take the scenic train ride form North Creek, spend time at the Natural Stone Bridge (which we initially thought was a "tourist trap" but thoroughly enjoyed!) There is never enough time in the week - and we have never found a place that competes with the accommodations for big groups that you'll find at Pharaoh View Lodge!

We had a party of over 20 with many small children. Pharaoh Lodge was perfect accomodations for everyone, with plenty of space for kids, toys, and still have privacy when preferred. Pharaoh Lodge exceeded all our expectations. The perfect getaway for our entire group!

We have been looking for just the right spot for our annual family get togethers. We have tried the beaches, tried the Poconos but Pharaoh View Lodge is the spot. Great views, great rooms and an ideal setting for us. My family had the best time, we finally found a spot big enough to fit everyone under one roof at an affordable price. With family spread from Maine to Delaware, not a bad drive for anyone. Plenty of room to relax and have fun. We plan on returning.

Our four-generation family of 17 (from 6 states) came to Pharaoh View Lodge for a week from July 3 - 10, 2010. It was one of the hottest weeks of the year . The Lodge is very clean and well furnished with attractive comfortable furniture, large rooms for family gatherings, 3 large refrigerator-freezers, plenty of cooking utensils, dishes, silverware, laundry and dishwasher soap, dish towels, toilet paper, paper towels, outdoor grill, life jackets, 2 kayaks, a canoe, rowboat, pedal boat, volley ball net, high chair, and many other appreciated amenities. The only negative was the beach that was NOT a swimming beach, due to growth of grass and lily pads. We used the boats to get out to the welcome float. We brought a sunfish sailboat, bikes, 3 additional kayaks, water floats, inner tubes, badminton rackets, and piano keyboard. The grocery store was about 5 miles away. We biked and sailed around the lake and went on several hikes. We also rented a pontoon boat for 2 days and were so glad we did.The large room in the lower level with kitchenette & bunk beds, and another bedroom, is perfect for the teens. We used all the floor fans that were provided. One evening we had a camp fire and made the traditional s'mores! The owner answered all our questions in advance and provided us with a general layout of the rooms. We also had an opportunity to see the lodge several weeks in advance. A wonderful family reunion.

This lodge was perfect for our family reunion/vacation (18 people). The chhildren loved access to the lake, fishing, boating and swimming. The whole family played soccer and volleyball in the large open yard. The view of the lake from the porches is so relaxing, the perfect place for reading or just sitting. The lodge was so spacious and well equipted. We especially liked the large dining and living areas so we could all be together. The large screen tv and dvd allowed us to all watch movies at night. We liked being away from the crowded areas and towns, but closed enough to visit them and enjoy their activities. It was so nice to spread out into the numerous bedrooms and baths. We never had to stand in line!! The open area of the kitchen/dining/den was so convenient and the 3 refrigerators allowed us fewer shopping trips. We all highly recommend Pharoah View and plan to book it for next year as soon as we have a date. The pictures on the internet don't do the lodge justice, it is much bigger and nicer than it looks.

Our group of 23 came together for a 50th wedding anniversary & took the whole lodge. It was a p[erfect spot; comfortable, clean & spacious. The lower floor was perfect for the teens & preteens, and the kitchen area could seat us all together with gorgeous views and a spacious deck. The kitchen is well equipped except for drinking glasses. It was good for my Dad with limited mobilty with a bedroom right off the kitchen & easy walk to the dock to fish. We brought canoes & kyacks to supplement the canoe & rowboats there. Excellent boating, fishing and the kids swam off the swimming raft out in the lake. Lots of hiking nearby & Lake George & even Lake Placid are not far away. Great pizza in Chestertown..Pizza Luna I think. It made for a very happy reunion.

We recently enjoyed a wonderful weekend in May at the lodge. 23 friends spent a weekend together celebrating several 40th birthdays. The lodge was wonderful. The kitchen was large enough for several of us to prepare meals and not be too crowded. The bedrooms were cozy. The lawn is large enough to have a few different games being played at once. The view is spectacular. And the boats were great for a little afternoon exploring. Everyone had an incredible time and fell in love with the lodge. We are now hoping to make it a yearly event. Special thanks to Peter for answering so many questions while we prepared for the weekend!

Thoroughly enjoyed this rental for a weekend in February. The kitchen was well stocked, and an awesome view of the lake and mountains. A joy to prepare a meal in, the house was so accommodating for a large group, yet cozy and inviting. Loved the fireplace and comfortable furniture. Would highly recommend. Close to Gore for skiing.

We stayed for a week in July. We were 25 close family and friends and incredibily still are (which had alot to do with the layout and location of the house). The guests ranged in age from 1 year to 77, all had a great time. The house is both cozy and yet you still can not find people at times. The living room was refered to as the "Land of the Lost", because if you could not find somebody they were generally hiding in there in one of the corners. The accomodations are very clean and up to date. The number of activities both on the property and within 20-30 minutes drive were more than we could squeeze into a week. We haved stayed in the Lake George/Brant Lake region many times over the years and this was by far the best experience. One draw back though..there was only one wine glass, but we made due. The group favorite at the house was the dock that enabled us to make use of our boat and at night the fire pit. Highly recomended!

Well we survived our family reunion. My parents were so pleased with how and where we chose to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. My father must have said 100 times that the lodge is even nicer in person then on the web site. Everything worked out so well including the weather. My family from Florida got to experience some chilly nights and gorgeous day. We rented a boat for a few days to entertain the kids and after all the fishing the guys did the lake may need to be restocked. There really is more to do in that area than you can cram into 7 days, although we gave it our best. I have lived in NYS all of my life and have never been to the Adirondacks. I would certainly put that area on my list of must return to places. We tried to put everything back in the way that we found it before we left. I am hoping that there were no problems. Thank you to your brother for having such a nice rental place and a special thank you to you for all of your help and patience with my family

My extended family (28 members ages 15- 83)just returned from a week at the Lodge. (7/7 -7/14/07)We had a fabulous time. The house was plenty big enough and the view from the decks and lakeside windows were gorgeous. The only challenge was the swimming. Boats or tubes were needed to get out to the swimming raft. The Lodge has a canoe, row boat and paddle boat for guest use. With a little creativity we managed to get even my 83 year old parents in the water. We will be returning next summer.

We had an absolutely super week in Aug 2006 at Pharoah's View Lodge. With the spacious accomodations, everyone had space to do their "thing" without being on top of each other. The design of the livingroom allowed for several groups of people to do different activities (games, puzzles, reading etc) yet all join in the conversation. With the huge diningroom table, all 14 of us could eat meals together. Everyone enjoyed the variety of boats available and we even rented a motorboat for some skiing and tubing. A note for those with motorboats, the water was very shallow at the dock so consider bringing a mooring and ferrying passengers to and from the raft. It was a great place for the extended family to gather and we were sorry to see the week end so quickly!

We stayed at the Pharoh View lodge over President's weekend in February. The home is absolutely gorgeous, with a spectacular great room, fully stocked kitrchen with tremendous seating areas, beautifully furnished bedrooms, and bathrooms everywhere. There is a perfect hill right outside the door for sledding, with incredible lake views. The only bad part of the weekend was having to leave! We plan to stay the whole week over winter break next year. This house is perfect for vacations any time of year.

We would like to thank the owners of the Pharaoh View for allowing the Kois Family to hold their “February Getaway” at the lodge. We came sixteen strong, ten adults and six children. The place was amazing. There was plenty of room in the dining area for all of us to sit and eat together, without being crowded. And the kitchen not only met all our needs but provided even more than we expected. The bedroom configurations were comfortable and granted privacy for the adults and sleeping areas for the kids. Most bedrooms had their own baths which was a real treat when traveling with sixteen people. The main floor with its large great room provided ample space and seating room for us all to gather around the fireplace to talk and reminisce and in some cases play karaoke. There were also plenty of nooks and crannies where smaller groups and individuals could be alone if they so desired. We noticed we were low on firewood when we arrived, but one call to Peter and additional wood was delivered that evening. Our thanks to Peter for the part he played in making our getaway a success. All the children and most of the adults took advantage of the slope of the land and had fun sleighing and snow boarding from the lodge down to the lake. If there were any complaints at all it would be with cleaning. By no means dirty, but a little more attention could have been made around the edges and under furniture by the cleaning crew. Overall, we had a great time, we would definitely recommend it to others and we are looking forward to a return visit next year. Thanks again,The Kois FamilyJim and Terry PS. Since it was a February Getaway we were looking forward to having snow on the ground but as we left the Albany area we were looking at greenery everywhere. But once we got to Glens Falls it started to snow quite heavily. When we reached the lodge there was a couple of inches on the ground and the next day we were graced with an additional six inches enabling us to make snow angels and take sleigh rides. Our only question is…Who did Peter call to arrange for such a beautiful snowfall?

Our group of 7 couples stayed at Pharaoh Lodge for a weekend and would have no trouble deciding to go back. The house is huge, clean, easy to find. There is enough room for all guests to find a cozy space of their own or gather as a group if desired. We sat 14 around the DR table with ease. There are multiple sitting areas, tables, etc. The bed I slept in was comfortable and the baths were modern. The view of the lake and mountains is stunning!

Although this comment is rather late, it's tardiness certainly does not deminish the wonderful weekend that we enjoyed at Pharoah Lodge in Mid April 05. It was a family reunion entirely staged around our Dad who is under going extensive chemotherapy. He is 80 years old and a fighter. He has already outlasted his initial prognosis and we all believe that he was rejuvenated during his weekend at the lodge. We laughed, we cryed and we vowed to fight. The best news is, we are winning!

We held a family reunion at the Lodge July '05 and it was absolutely wonderful. Plenty of room for all of us. Safe for children, extrememly clean, rooms were cool at night and quiet. Children were able to sleep while parents enjoyed adult time in the game room. A nice yard to play in and a sandy beach. Great dock for swimming. The view, accompanied by the fresh air and birds song is peaceful. Location is close enough to other activities. Pharaoh View is a perfect location for a get away with family and friends. The owners were welcoming and accomodating.
