Enjoy 110 feet of private waterfront and an exceptionally nice 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom cottage. "The Waterfront Cottage" will accomodate nine, but it's also great as a romantic getaway for two. Some of its many amenities include beach area, 2 kayaks, large deck with great view, gas grill, firepit, dock, fireplace, jetted bathtub, central air conditioning and spacious manicured lawn.
"The Waterfront Cottage" is located on picturesque Pottawattomie Bayou lake in Grand Haven, Michigan. You can splash and play at the beach area or paddle the kayaks to explore the bayou. You can lounge in the yard or on the deck or even in the living room and watch the sunlight glisten off the water. The view is great from both inside and outside this cottage! In the evening you can curl up in front of the gas log fireplace in the living room, or sit outside around the firepit, be mesmerized by the flickering flames and glowing embers and maybe even roast some marshmallows. We supply the firewood.
This cottage has three bedrooms, two full bathrooms and a large jetted bathtub. The two Master Bedrooms have queen beds and picture windows that overlook the beautiful bayou. Bedroom #3 has two twin beds. There are also two pull-out sleepers. We supply bath towels and bedding, but you will need to bring your own beach towels.
The living room is spacious and bright and has picture windows that highlight a terrific view of the water. You might see a gaggle of geese, a few graceful swans, a blue heron or a king fisher. Several of our guests have even seen deer in the back yard! The living room includes two recliners, a sofa and a loveseat. It has a cathedral ceiling with ceiling fan, a 32 inch TV with basic cable and a VCR/DVD player.
The dining area is large and cheerful and is furnished with comfortable seating. The kitchen is fully equipped and includes a refrigerator, stove, microwave, dishwasher, snack bar, coffee maker, dishware, glassware, silverware and all the necessary cooking utensils.
"The Waterfront Cottage" has the convenience of a washer and dryer. There is also central air conditioning to keep your family comfortable when the weather is hot and humid. We have stocked the cottage with a plethora of board games, puzzles and movies for your enjoyment.
Sip your morning cup of coffee alfresco on the deck as you relax in the comfortable deck chairs. Savor your favorite meats barbequed on the gas grill. Play games or have a drink on the deck and enjoy the majestic view.
The yard is a great place to play outdoor games. It is large and nicely landscaped. In the summer you can kayak, shoot some basketball, play ping pong, or fish from the dock. There are horseshoe and washer-pitching pits built into the yard for friendly competitions. If you have a small boat you can tie it up at the dock. There is direct water access from the cottage to Lake Michigan via the Grand River.
Grand Haven is a wonderful place in which to vacation. The area has lovely beaches, great golf courses and miles of bike paths. There are also several unique parks to explore and enjoy. Beautiful Pottawattomie Park is just 1 1/2 miles from the cottage. Pottawattomie Park has a great playground for the kids, a swimming area and a fishing/observation deck that extends out over the water. Lake Michigan's sugar sand beaches and quaint downtown Grand Haven are only a 5 mile drive from the cottage. You might want to take a stroll on the boardwalk, watch the sunset from the pier and enjoy the dancing waters of Grand Haven's Musical Fountain. You can also watch talented skateboarders at Grand Haven's skateboard park. Grand Haven has some exceptional restaurants too. You can find little eating houses featuring homecooked breakfasts, the Pronto Pup kiosk (a Grand Haven tradition), Fricano's Pizzaria (another Grand Haven tradition), a variety of ice creams parlors, and both trendy and elegant fine dining restaurants.
"The Waterfront Cottage" is smoke-free, but smoking is permitted outdoors. Please bring your cell phone as there is not a land line at the cottage. Internet access is available at near-by Panera Breads and also downtown Grand Haven. There is a maximum limit of 9 guests. And although we love animals, we can not allow pets at the cottage.
Several of our guests have described this cottage as a waterfront paradise. It is an ideal place to come home to after a busy day downtown. Or just relax here all week. It's a great place for vacations and also for celebrating holidays, anniversaries and birthdays. This cottage is tastefully decorated, clean, comfortable, and fully furnished and equipped. Beautiful views abound here indoors and outdoors!
