Langley apartment description

Stone steps lead to this new lower level apartment, set in a perennial garden on Langley's waterfront bluff. It offers simplicity and comfort, serenity and warmth.

Enter through the cheerful kitchen, fully equipped with the essentials for cooking. The kitchen opens into a sunny large room that serves as both living and dining space. A wireless TV, books, puzzles, and games are there to entertain. The TV is set up on mobile stand, easily moved to the bedroom or elsewhere in the apartment. The sofa/futon folds down easily to sleep another two people.

Enjoy peek-a-book water view in the summer when the garden is bursting. The remainder of the year a full water view entertains.

Langley is a great place of departure for exploring other parts of Whidbey Island such as Coupeville, Deception Pass, Ebey's Prairie, the Greenbank Farm, and the beaches at Double Bluff and Maxwellton. Catch a whale watching tour or make a day trip to the San Juan Islands. There is no shortage of things to do.

But you can also just spend your day unwinding, enjoying the village or sitting in the sun in your own private garden.

We were so comfortable in this cozy little retreat. Ultra comfortable bed, very quiet and peaceful. Handy to downtown. We loved Langley, and had several walks around the quaint little town. Owner is very sweet and very attentive to needs. She even had fresh flowers and a local coffee for us.

I desperately needed to get out of Seattle and have some quiet time. The location is perfect and just a few blocks from town. Ursula has thought of everything you might need (kitchen scissors, hair dryer, suitcase rack) and has provided some local products like coffee and soap. I absolutely love the soap (Lavender, Clove, and Lemongrass) and went to the little shop in town and bought a stack of bars. This apartment, as noted in the description, is downstairs from your host and hostess and has a water view. The bed is comfortable, too. I would definitely stay here again.

I found this little treasure by talking to someone in the ferry line. We needed to find a location that was more than just a room for a couple who were visiting with their twin daughters who are toddlers. This charming garden apartment is brand new, beautifully decorated and very comfortable. Everything you need to cook in, instead of going out for every meal, is stocked in the little kitchen. The hall leading from the living room to the bedroom was big enough to put two Pack 'N Plays where the little ones slept; quiet and darker for them. I would highly recommend this hidden treasure, that is located just a really short walk to all the shops in Langley-by-the-Sea, to couples and small families. A sweet surprise at a value price!

A quiet, peaceful, beautifully-appointed apartment 2 blocks walk from downtown Langley, which is chock full of shops, restaurants, wine tasting shop, grocery, a library, playground, and history galore! The apartment had everything we could need, as well as luxurious linens and soaps and amazing views of the flowers in the garden and a peek-a-boo view of the sea beyond. With the owners right upstairs, it felt like staying in a B&B, yet it was nice having the full kitchen for leftovers and milk in the fridge, etc. (traveling with a child). Ursula was quick and helpful getting back to me with all info and even had fresh flowers and toys in the apartment for my 4-year-old to use during our stay. There are neighbors close on all sides, so it's not a "secluded beach house" type of experience, but the gardens feel private and it was very quiet and SO convenient to be right in downtown Langley. Immaculate apartment too! If you bring a dog, be sure to bring your own old towels to wipe feet at the door. You won't want to muss their brand new, bright white carpet or towels. :) We enjoyed our stay very much and will recommend the apartment to friends wanting to stay in Langley!

Langley is a great town to be in on Whidbey Island, it's got a nice mix of small town charm as well as some decent dining/retail options. The garden apartment we stayed in is in a great location, just one block up from the center of town. We were able to walk into town as needed for dining, coffee, or just strolling the few shops that are available. Additionally, it was incredibly clean - you can tell that the owners take great pride in this property. We would definitely stay here again.

We had a fantastic stay here. The location is perfect, walking distance to the eating places in Langley. The apartment itself is wonderful too. Very nicely decorated with all that could be needed for home away from home. Highly recommended. Ursula goes out of the way to make sure your stay is comfortable.

This was our first experience using vrbo and it couldn't have gone any smoother. The property was exactly as advertised and was perfect for what we were looking for. The unit is very well appointed, very comfortable, and quiet. We enjoyed watching the birds, butterflies and rabbits in the little garden. It was the perfect place to get away and relax, but it is also located right in town so all of the restaurants and shops are close by and within walking distance. The owners are very nice and wanted to make sure that we had everything that we needed to enjoy our stay, including keeping our Golden Retriever happy. We spent most of our time walking around town with our dog and enjoying the various coffee shops, restaurants, gift shops, and the little beach located in town. Some of the restaurants have outside dining where dogs are welcome. Langley is a very dog friendly town.

                      Owner info

                      Year Purchased: 1993

About the owner: After treasuring our private spot on the water in the heart of Langley for twenty years, my architect-husband and I decided to 'downsize' in place. We've converted the lower level of our waterfront home to an apartment for people wanting to enjoy Langley and its surroundings as we do. My husband has retired to a life of writing and reflection and I continue to work as a consultant to non-profits and public agencies in the Northwest. We share our home with our 12 year old German-Shepherd mix, Angus.

                      Why the Owner Chose Langley:
Twenty years ago we moved from Seattle to Whidbey to find a deeper sense of community. We found a village that welcomes all and pulls people in to its music, art, food, and just plain silliness whether they are here for the day or are 'old-timers.'
