Villa Sunrise is a seven year old, two bedroom, two bathroom Villa built facing East and the sunrise on Bali's quiet north coast on the North Bali Sea. It was built in the style of a Black Forest three storied chalet of solid teak woods and stone, and is surrounded by a beautifully landscaped and well cared for garden.
The Villa is just steps away from the ocean and has unobstructed views from all windows.
There is a wrap around balcony on the second floor, and a widow's walk on the third. The entire house can be opened to allow the cool ocean breezes to move through the home.
Villa Sunrise comes completely furnished with linens, a full kitchen, a CD/Radio/Ipod player, and TV/DVD and WI/FI. Our housekeeper is there daily to provide breakfast and laundry service and to care for the gardens. We also have a English speaking driver who can arrange transportation, and tours for an additional fee.
Our exclusive location adjacent to a traditional fishing village offers you the rare opportunity to experience the charm and magic of the real Bali that seldom can be seen anymore.
For centuries called "Island of the Gods" and "Heaven on Earth" this island paradise of warm, friendly people and rich culture has been an inspiration to famous artists and musicians and enjoys a renowned reputation for its superb craftsmanship.
You will be relaxing in an environment unique in the world, far from the noise and tourist crowds while located close to major scenic attractions.
A stay at Villa Sunrise includes a fresh, delicious breakfast prepared by your house maid, who also cleans and does your laundry.
Footsteps from Villa Sunrise is a modern European health spa with a restaurant, swimming pool, massages and yoga classes. They have extended us the courtesy of being able to use many of their facilities.
It's a wonderful place for a family reunion, honeymoon, or somewhere to relax and escape the stresses and tensions of everyday life.

Owner's Profile
Owner Description
Year Purchased: 2004
We are originally from New York City, have lived in many places in the USA and are now building another home in Penestanan, Ubud.
We have raised 5 children and 1 grandchild, who all love Bali as much as we do, and visit as often as they are able.
Why the Owner Chose Tejakula
We purchased Villa Sunrise in May of 2004 after having seen it advertised on the internet while googling 'houses to buy in Bali".
It was built by a Swiss Trained Architect who is married to a Balinese and has lived on the island for about 15 years. It was designed to replicate a Black Forest chalet and is built of old growth teak wood, concrete and terrazo.
As a realtor I'm aware that things aren't always as they appear, so I made the journey to Bali to see it for myself...and fortunately...it was everything I had hoped it would be. Over the years, we've made some improvments and hope to be able to continue to make some more.
We visit our Villa whenever we can with our friends and family, and rent it out to the fortunate few when we're not there.
We think of it as 'our little piece of heaven' and hope others will too.
Enjoy!
The Unique Benefits of this Villa
Our Villa faces the North Bali Sea, which is extremely warm and gentle for swimming and snorkeling. The coral and fish are abundant, and you feel as if you've entered an aquarium. This is a unique place for rest, meditation, reading and discovery. The village has frequent temple ceremonies in which the Balinese are willing to allow you to participate. There is a morning market in the village, and various walks that you can take to nearby temples, the waterfalls and scenic sights.

Hi Barbara, We got back from Bali a couple of days ago. Let me just say thank you so much for the privilege and the opportunity to stay at your beautiful Villa Sunrise. It was the most beautiful and relaxing 8 days I have experienced in such a long time! We were welcomed most graciously by Rai and Ketut. The walk from the car drop off point down the quiet track and through the lovely grounds of Gaia Oasis was magnificent, and when we came across Villa Sunrise, we knew we were in for a treat! Ketut welcomed us with fresh coffee and a lovely breakfast... his breakfasts were such a lovely start to the day... fresh yummy fruit, beautiful omlettes, the kids adored his homemade jams and fresh baked bread. What a delight. Ketut's kindness and graciousness left a deep impression on us and we look forward to seeing him again. And Rai was most helpful in helping us to integrate into the day to day life at Gaia Oasis. The staff and guests there were very friendly and welcoming. A warm hello here, and friendly wave there.... We enjoyed many a meal at the restaurant at Gaia, and took full advantage of the nurturing spa services. Eight days felt like weeks.... and we left Villa Sunrise feeling refreshed, rejuvenated and thoroughly nurtured. All in all, a very lovely experience. We look forward to coming back. Warmest Regards Elisa and Dennis Johnson x

Hi barbera, We are back in Holland and indeed Villa Sunrise is a little paradise in Bali. Beautiful in the green, next to the ocean, silence (or only waves or wind which brings you to the essentials of live) and above all superbe and so frendly local people in the kampong next to the Villa and in the hotel and restaurant. We and our young children enjoyed this place so much! Best regards, Hans Kusters

The time we spent in Tejakula at the Sunrise Villa/Gaia-Oasis was the most peaceful, relaxing and fun I have ever had on any vacation, ever. Rest and Relaxation was the goal of this trip, and the beautiful villa with Made's wonderful breakfasts, excellent massages from the wellness center, food and spirits from the restaurant and the overall ambiance delivered far above and beyond all expectations. It was very hard for me to leave, I wanted to stay. There is no doubt in my mind, I will return some day. Thank you so much Barbara, for sharing this incredible place - there is magic there, as I am sure you know.

Just a quick note to thank you for letting us your house in Tejakula – we really enjoyed everything except the beach up there, it had a very special atmosphere and feeling about it, and it is quite a contrast to Seminyak where we are now. We would love to go back to Villa Sunrise and Gaia Oasis, but we will probably never revisit Seminyak.

Bali was incredible for us. The house was fabulous. Made was so lovely and so thorough and such a beautiful presence. You are very fortunate to have her there. The resort was beautiful and the amenities were fantastic. It was relatively quiet while we were there. The people were so peaceful, the food was great!

Bali was incredible for us. The house was fabulous. Made was so lovely and so thorough and such a beautiful presence. You are very fortunate to have her there. The resort was beautiful and the amenities were fantastic. It was relatively quiet while we were there. The people were so peaceful, the food was great. The only sad thing was the scuba place we thought was five minutes down the beach was well over an hour away and Zoe had to leave for four days to scuba, so I was left on my own on a vacation meant to be spent with her!! Ahh well, we made it through and all turned out okay. Oh, I also enjoyed meeting the gentleman who lives behind the house – somehow his name slips my mind – I believe it was Ketut, because it wasn’t Wayan or Nyoman or Made!! His daughter was so cute – she only waved to me – very shy. I also loved the chickens and their babies!

Barbara, I just wanted to thank you for letting us stay at Villa Sunrise. We had the most amazing week there. Everything was beyond perfect. Both Made' and Rai were wonderful. I'm really missing the breakfasts every morning. We're home now in California...settling back into our normal lives..but it seems that Bali will always be with us.....it was one of the most memorable trips that we have ever taken, made just that much better for our time in Tejekula. You have a real gem of a place there. I almost dread having to write a recommendation on Trip Advisor...because I want it always to be available. Don't worry though....We'll spread the word....hopefully the house can make some other people as happy as it made us. Thank you again.....maybe we'll be in contact next year. Dan Grofer

As you make your way to the Sunrise Villa, the journey itself introduces you to the paradise you are in store for: insulated from the outside world, yet pampered with all the amenities one needs to feel comfortable so far from home. The house itself is a marvel, Made is an exceptional caretaker, Rai makes sure your connection with the outside world & all you wish to experience in Bali is executed accordingly and the peace, the absolute peace that one encounters at the Sunrise Villa is not something words can describe. I am so grateful to have visited there.
