Hi Barbara, We got back from Bali a couple of days ago. Let me just say thank you so much for the privilege and the opportunity to stay at your beautiful Villa Sunrise. It was the most beautiful and relaxing 8 days I have experienced in such a long time! We were welcomed most graciously by Rai and Ketut. The walk from the car drop off point down the quiet track and through the lovely grounds of Gaia Oasis was magnificent, and when we came across Villa Sunrise, we knew we were in for a treat! Ketut welcomed us with fresh coffee and a lovely breakfast... his breakfasts were such a lovely start to the day... fresh yummy fruit, beautiful omlettes, the kids adored his homemade jams and fresh baked bread. What a delight. Ketut's kindness and graciousness left a deep impression on us and we look forward to seeing him again. And Rai was most helpful in helping us to integrate into the day to day life at Gaia Oasis. The staff and guests there were very friendly and welcoming. A warm hello here, and friendly wave there.... We enjoyed many a meal at the restaurant at Gaia, and took full advantage of the nurturing spa services. Eight days felt like weeks.... and we left Villa Sunrise feeling refreshed, rejuvenated and thoroughly nurtured. All in all, a very lovely experience. We look forward to coming back. Warmest Regards Elisa and Dennis Johnson x

Hi barbera, We are back in Holland and indeed Villa Sunrise is a little paradise in Bali. Beautiful in the green, next to the ocean, silence (or only waves or wind which brings you to the essentials of live) and above all superbe and so frendly local people in the kampong next to the Villa and in the hotel and restaurant. We and our young children enjoyed this place so much! Best regards, Hans Kusters

The time we spent in Tejakula at the Sunrise Villa/Gaia-Oasis was the most peaceful, relaxing and fun I have ever had on any vacation, ever. Rest and Relaxation was the goal of this trip, and the beautiful villa with Made's wonderful breakfasts, excellent massages from the wellness center, food and spirits from the restaurant and the overall ambiance delivered far above and beyond all expectations. It was very hard for me to leave, I wanted to stay. There is no doubt in my mind, I will return some day. Thank you so much Barbara, for sharing this incredible place - there is magic there, as I am sure you know.

Just a quick note to thank you for letting us your house in Tejakula – we really enjoyed everything except the beach up there, it had a very special atmosphere and feeling about it, and it is quite a contrast to Seminyak where we are now. We would love to go back to Villa Sunrise and Gaia Oasis, but we will probably never revisit Seminyak.

Bali was incredible for us. The house was fabulous. Made was so lovely and so thorough and such a beautiful presence. You are very fortunate to have her there. The resort was beautiful and the amenities were fantastic. It was relatively quiet while we were there. The people were so peaceful, the food was great!

The resort was beautiful and the amenities were fantastic. It was relatively quiet while we were there. The people were so peaceful, the food was great. The only sad thing was the scuba place we thought was five minutes down the beach was well over an hour away and Zoe had to leave for four days to scuba, so I was left on my own on a vacation meant to be spent with her!! Ahh well, we made it through and all turned out okay. Oh, I also enjoyed meeting the gentleman who lives behind the house – somehow his name slips my mind – I believe it was Ketut, because it wasn’t Wayan or Nyoman or Made!! His daughter was so cute – she only waved to me – very shy. I also loved the chickens and their babies!

Barbara, I just wanted to thank you for letting us stay at Villa Sunrise. We had the most amazing week there. Everything was beyond perfect. Both Made' and Rai were wonderful. I'm really missing the breakfasts every morning. We're home now in California...settling back into our normal lives..but it seems that Bali will always be with us.....it was one of the most memorable trips that we have ever taken, made just that much better for our time in Tejekula. You have a real gem of a place there. I almost dread having to write a recommendation on Trip Advisor...because I want it always to be available. Don't worry though....We'll spread the word....hopefully the house can make some other people as happy as it made us. Thank you again.....maybe we'll be in contact next year. Dan Grofer

As you make your way to the Sunrise Villa, the journey itself introduces you to the paradise you are in store for: insulated from the outside world, yet pampered with all the amenities one needs to feel comfortable so far from home. The house itself is a marvel, Made is an exceptional caretaker, Rai makes sure your connection with the outside world & all you wish to experience in Bali is executed accordingly and the peace, the absolute peace that one encounters at the Sunrise Villa is not something words can describe. I am so grateful to have visited there.

Who would have known the small area of Tejakula had so much charm. People stay towards the south of the island for the beaches. This leaves the north quaint, untouched, charming, and real. Our experiences were unforgettable. Villa Sunrise was relaxing with Made' making great breakfast meals and really taking care of us. Gaia Oasis provides amenities and the area has plenty to offer.

Dear Barbara, What can I say! Thankyou for letting us stay in Villa Sunrise - our little piece of paradise!!! We had the most amazing time and the whole thing far exceeded our expectations. Having travelled extensively both as backpacker & business tourist this is one of my favourite experiences. We loved it all so much we hope to return when we next travel to New Zealand. We never missed a sunrise, Our friendly cockeral made sure of that - ( he he ) In reality we were normally awake with our loungers in there 'morning position' waiting with bated breath. One morning we were out at sea as the dawn broke, we took your advice and went to spot the Dolphins - not difficult the sea was teaming with them!! We also spent some time in the village - a real balinese experience, it reminded me a little of rural India - unspoilt by tourism and full of character and culture. As a jewellery designer by proffesion, I was thrilled to watch the silversmiths at work. The rest of the time we lapped up the sun - played in the pool and took a number of yoga sessions & wellness treatments. Made Dwe was our little Angel!!! A fantastic cook and a credit to you. She made it all extra special. Now on our way home to begin paying off the credit card bill...... Yipee Thankyou once again Collette & Kane Ikimotu xx

Dear Barbara and Henry We have been and returned from our trip to Bali. I thought I should report that there was nothing to do at Sunrise Villa. The TV wouldn't work because of the power fluctuations, there were no shops to go shopping at, the waves kept on washing on the shore all night, it was dark as there was no street lighting. I forgot to turn on my phone (on purpose) and there wasn't a computer anywhere to be seen. In other words it was a wonderful place to have a lovely relaxing holiday. Madi set the days off perfectly with her great breakfasts. We didn't need to eat again until dinner time. Lorraine and I read several books each. We played lots of games of scrabble. I won some but lost more than I won. I snorkeled just off the steps on the beach while Lorraine watched. We had a walk up to the village each day taking a different track each time. "Hello, where are you going" was the usual response from all the Villagers. I remembered after a while that when I took Indonesian lessons that "where are you going" isn't really asking to be told by you where you are going but is just an Indonesian way of saying 'how are you going". The staff and guests at Gaia-Oasis were all very friendly and made us feel at home. That place really is a bonus for you and Sunrise Villa. We had a massage which was really relaxing and used the restaurant each night or for lunch. The restaurant fridge stocked with beer and wine was also a bonus. Anyway we would like to thank you very much for introducing us to Sunrise Villa. Dion took us back to the airport via Ubud and in we Ubud realized how peaceful Tejakula really is. We will tell all our friends in Honk Kong and Australia about your place. It really was great. Thank you again, and all the best. Leigh and Lorraine.

My boyfriend and I spent a week here in July. The Villa is directly on the beach, and the calm ocean waves lulled us to sleep every night. The food at the Gaia-Oasis was great, and we felt very cared for by Made Dwi, the housekeeper. Whenever we left clothing around, she immediately washed and ironed it. The massages at the Oasis were wonderful as well. We would gladly come here again and will recommend Villa Sunrise to all our friends.

My wife and I spent a week at Villa Sunrise and found it to be a beautiful house on a fabulous beach with incredible sunrises every morning. There is just a little bit of local life going on--the fishermen, and the small village of Tejakula. It is in a completely non-tourist area so there are no hotels or restaurants in the area, just the small center next door which serves great lunches and dinners and has a swimming pool. If you are looking for a lot of night life this place is not for you, but if you want peace, quiet, relaxation and great breakfasts by Made' the house girl this place is perfect.

Wow, when I got to Bali, I had had no experience in this part of the world, I literally went from Brat to Ubud. At this point, some of the hectic culture shock was eased by the relaxing, leisurely pace of this far-out place. Magical, hard to imagine myself back in Wisconsin at this point, dealing with the hellish winters of discontent. I'll be back to Bali and back to basics, beer and beach and bodacious food.

Welcome to our little bit of paradise. We found this home while surfing the internet in March of 2004. It was difficult being so far away, but I spent the next two months corresponding with the architect of the house, and the owners. Then it was time to go to Bali and see if the house was actually everything that they said it was. And it was, and more! As a real estate agent, I'm wary of photos and glowing descriptions, that only disappoint when you actually tour the property. I guarantee, that you will not be disappointed in your choice of vacation homes. I have multiple photos on my website, which can only allude to but not fully describe the beauty of the sunrise, or the calming effect of the ocean waves lapping against the shore. This really is a piece of paradise that we've decided to share with others.....Welcome to Villa Sunrise! Barbara
