A gem in the adirondacks
A gem in the adirondacks
We had the best getaway weekend. The kids loved diving into the lake and going on our waterfall hikes. It was truly a breath of fresh air getting away in the beautiful adirondacks. Gerry and Sue are great people and we look forward to going back next year.

My family of four stayed at Ruby Hill for just under a week and it was hands down the most tranquil vacation we have ever had (even with a 6 and 4 year old!!). The honest truth is that I had no desire to spend a week in the Adirondacks, but now have to rescind every negative thought I had thanks to the pristine cabin, wonderful hosts and adorable town! The thoughtful details that Sue and Gerry added to the cabins were amazing! The four of us spent at least a little part of everyday at the town beach, kayaked and even tried a canoe (although I am not sure I would do that again with my son!). There is a small park with in walking distance as well. We enjoyed a successful fishing venture off the dock and even hit Irish music night at the local eatery. I am not sure what we can add that the other reviews have not already hit upon...everything was truly that superb! Sue and Gerry truly made us feel like visiting family, from play dates with their grand daughter, assisting with the bonfire and pointing us in the right direction to find the local wild life, the generosity was lovely throughout! Thank you so much for sharing your space with us! And my deepest apologies for taking so long to reply...I just wanted to be sure that I could accurately depict how truly wonderful our experience was!!

Our family of four had a wonderful stay in this cabin. We found the cabin to be clean, well appointed, and in a great location for walking to dinner or a swim. Our kids liked the loft and the wifi was a nice perk. The warm and friendly owners gave us lots of tips for great hikes. The hummingbirds off the screened porch provided much entertainment.

I am still daydreaming about the cabin and how I WISH I could just live there! Everything was perfect about it. Gerry and Susan were the nicest most welcoming people I have ever met. We kayaked in the lake with kayaks provided to us by our wonderful hosts, which was a 30 second walk from the cabin. We made s'mores by the fire pit while star gazing. We also took a short drive to the nearest gas station to find that they also made the most delicious pepperoni pizza ever. We also stopped by Logan's diner in the next town over and they make the cheesiest quesadillas. There's just so many little things about this stay that were basically the sprinkles to this ice cream. One thing I absolutely miss the most was waking up to the fresh crisp morning air mother nature had provided us. Just typing this review up makes me want to whine about being back home. I really am going to go back soon and relive this again because it was in fact, perfection. Thank you Gerry and Susan once again :)

STILL IN AWE!!!!
STILL IN AWE!!!!
Still breathless thinking about the stay in the cabin on Ruby Hill. One of the most positive vacation experiences of our lifetime. The awesome experience began with meeting the hospitable Gerry and Susan Murphy. Clearly the hosts with the most. They assured that our stay would be delightful and went out of their way to make sure we had the things we needed or answer any questions we might have. The cabin was absolutely amazing. My family hasn't taken a vacation in about 7 years and we were looking for a place to be able to relax and take in the serene location. We were a party of 7. That's right, a party of seven. The cabin's accommodations met all of our needs! My wife and I slept outside every night in the screened in porch area. It was awesome. If we didn't live 8 hours away, we'd ask Gerry and Susan to sell us the cabin. We especially enjoyed being out on the lake with the kayaks that Gerry and Susan provided during the day. And at night, making smores in the humongous fire pit quickly became a nightly staple. Wells and the surrounding town (Speculator) afforded us the opportunity to walk around and take in the local fare and shops. Don't want to cook? Well a super short walk from the cabin will land you at the Lake Side Grill. Great atmosphere, great food and great people right on Lake Algonquin. During the week stay we even took a drive to Lake George. Only an hour away! Would we recommend the cabin? Of course!!!! Recommended to anyone looking for an awesome getaway to a super well maintained, new cabin owned by two of the nicest people you could ever meet.

The Best of Calm, Serenity, and Tranquility !!!
The Best of Calm, Serenity, and Tranquility !!!
I am a Professional and from time to time need a retreat to a Cabin to relax and re-energize !! I can't find the words to describe Gerry and Susan's Cabin. They were gracious and hospitable hosts. First, they stayed up late past midnight for me to arrive as I got stuck in NYC traffic. The cabin was new, immaculate, and equipped with everything needed to insure our ultimate comfort. The village beach is a 3 minutes walk from the Cabin where you can swim, sunbath, or rent a canoe. There are a multitude of trail surrounding the cabin. If you happen to forget something with (food, personal hygiene, etc..) there are few stores around all within 5-10 minutes drive. After three days at Gerry's Cabin, I didn't want to leave the serene nature and the comfort of this immaculate retreat. I will definitely go back sometimes soon, to enjoy more of the cabin and surrounding nature's adventures it has to offer. Thank you Gerry and Susan for your hospitality and warm welcome. See you soon Mace & Salaki
