Our home is a 4 bedroom, 2 1/3 bath house (3000 square feet) (with all 4 bedrooms upstairs) across the street from the beach. It's has cherrywood beams downstairs and built-in cabinets with glass doors in the dining room. The dining room has a beautiful cherrywood table with seating for 6. The living room has a fireplace along with ample sitting for relaxing and watching TV. The kitchen is fitted with dishes, silverware, pots, pans, electric skillets, slow cooker and everything else a person could want to cook a fabulous meal. We have a toilet next to the kitchen. Upstairs you will find one bedroom has twin beds. Another room has a double bed with a loft (that will sleep one comfortably). The next room has a queen bed. There is a bathroom that services all three bedrooms. The sunroom is located next to the master bedroom in the front of the house. It is a sunny and relaxing room, and I must say it is my favorite room in the house. Our master bedroom is next door to the sunroom. It has a queen bed in it with a loveseat for relaxing. This room has an en-suite with a jacuzzi tub built for two. The sunroom and master suite have french doors leading out to a balcony. We also have a Queen size air mattress that will sleep 2 adults. We have parking for one car inside our gated (remote control)driveway and also parking for one car in our driveway. You will find that having parking is a real asset in Long Beach.
In addition to the 4 bedrooms we also have a Queen size air mattress that will sleep 2 people comfortably. There is a TV in the master bedroom, a TV in bedroom #2 and bedroom #3. The room with the twin beds and also the sunroom have a TV's but they are for watching videos only.The master bedroom and the sunroom have french doors leading out to a large balcony....moreless

Only 2 mission revival homes made it through the 1920's Long beach earthquake and ours is one of them. It is a historical landmark. We have a picture on the fireplace mantel showing the house back in the early days. Just a little tidbit: the man who built the house was called James Beer. Because of that my husband always refers to our house as the 1st beer house in Long Beach....moreless

Our normal check in time is 4PM and our check out time is 11AM. Without prior approval these times can not change. If you cancel your reservations within 45 days of arrival you will forfeit your deposit.
A $200 deposit is due upon booking. (you can pay this by personal check if the reservations are for two weeks out) The balance is payable upon arrival by cashier's check, money order or cash.

We are right across the street from the beach. All you do is cross Ocean Blvd go down about 15 steps and you are on the beach. There is a walking/ running path called the strand. You can jog, walk, roller blade or ride bikes on the strand. Naples Island is close by. There are beautiful homes on the Island and gorgeous yachts for your viewing. Belmont Shore is about a 5 minute drive (a 20 minute walk) away. It has a variety of unique stores and many different types of restaurants. The historical district of old homes is 5 minutes by car, a 10 minute walk and 5 minutes by bike. They are worth seeing. The Museum of Arts is 2 blocks away.

About the owner: My husband and I are retired. My husband was a vice president of human resources for major corporations. He grew up in Tucson, Arizona and graduated from the University of Arizona. My background was in payroll and also human resources. We have 6 children and 14 grandchildren. (a lot). We love this home and have had many wonderful holidays and dinners with family and friends. We entertained regularly and have had anywhere from 10 to 100 people at the house at one time. We also have a beautiful home in the Palm Springs area (the desert of southern california).
Why the Owner Chose Long Beach: I grew up in the Long Beach area and loved it. It is very rare to find a 100 year old, 2 story home with an attic and a full cellar (part of which we have made into a wine cellar) in Southern California. The home has history that dates back to World War II. It is a historical landmark in Long Beach. We have a marble fireplace in the living room for those cooler winter nights.
The Unique Benefits at this House: This charming home sleeps 8 - 10 people. There is a fenced and gated patio that runs the full length of the front of the house. We normally have our coffee out there and drinks in the afternoon. There are 2 tables on the patio with seating for 8. The home is centrally located to many attractions. You can be in Hollywood within the hour, Santa Monica in 45 minutes, Malibu within an hour. Santa Barbara is a 2 hour drive, but well worth it. Then heading south, you can reach Orange County (Irvine) within 45 minutes or Laguna Beach within 45 minutes. San Diego is an hour and a half away. For those surfers of the world, you can be surfing within 15 minutes in Huntington Beach or further down the coast in San Clemente within 45 minutes.
