Best place ever!!
Best place ever!!
We have rented quite a few VRBO places over the last several years and this one is by far the best. Every detail is addressed. The home itself is unbelievable; so beautiful, comfortable and relaxing. The beds are wonderful, better than home, and we had so much fun cooking in the awesome kitchen. It is always great when the place is even better in person than on the web site. We take a sibling trip every year, usually to different places each time but we ALL think we want to come here over and over again. The remoteness may disappoint some but for us it was a welcome "chill pill" for our busy lives. Loved it!!!

Owner response: We are so glad that you guys enjoyed the kitchen! I've tried to stock it well so our guests can have fun cooking with others! Chilling is exactly what this house gives you the opportunity to do. So glad you guys were able to do just that. There are several fun small town things to do but most of the time we just want to stay there and enjoy friends! Thanks for the kind words and we hope to see you again!
Our family wanted a central place to celebrate a string of birthdays and came across this beautiful home. The drive time from the east coast and Chicago respectively was well worth the effort. The house and property are huge, plenty of room for kids to run around the property. We enjoyed the fishing, boating, pool and general relaxation. The owners are very helpful and a pleasure to deal with. We would gladly stay there again!

Best Labor Day Ever!
Best Labor Day Ever!
Having stayed at several rentals on Labor Day Weekends in the past, I would have to say that this was the favorite of our entire family! Everyone from the oldest to the youngest in our group of 11, appreciated the spacious, beautifully decorated, and sparkling clean home. It took our breath away when we walked in and were welcomed personally. The kitchen was spectacular. We prepared each meal at the cabin, finding every single utensil, dish and pan that was needed to prepare for our large group. There was plenty of room for us to all gather and help in the preparations. While we had planned to cook outside, we did not because the indoor grill was fabulous! And we all could enjoy our meals sitting at the large dining table. The outdoors was equally nice with fishing at the lake, playing with the grandchildren and watching the wildlife. We had planned to go to Harrodsburg for a day, but we were enjoying the time at the cabin so much, we did not want to leave. It's a great place to reconnect with each other. The owner, Sheri, was a delight to deal with, so much so, that I found myself sharing some of our photos of our time there with her! This is definitely a place of peace and healing and we were blessed to have the opportunity to stay there.

Owner response: Thanks for your kind words! You expressed exactly what we know to be true about the lodge. It's a great place to connect, everybody can cook together or watch and you don't want to leave after you get there! I absolutely loved getting pics from your visit of all the fun because we truly want people to enjoy while they are there!!
If you’re reading this review, then you’ve looked at the listed features…the pictures and description does not do this property justice. Not only was there nice craftsmanship in the building of the home, plenty of time and personal attention shows in maintenance and upkeep. The property was clean and ready for immediate use. It’s versatile in that it has the lake and tons of space, so you can literally play a full football game on the flat grass to the side of the house, you can enjoy fishing or a paddleboat ride on the lake, and there is plenty of acreage for a nature walk, or deer watching (saw deer every day on the property…stunning!!). There is a large television, very nice pool table, and plenty of board games for all ages. The ladies in our party don’t care to be outside, thankfully the house is luxurious and inviting. The rooms are large and comfortable; the master suite is particularly massive with a very nice custom bath. The kitchen was our focal point. Tons of space, Viking gas stove/oven made cooking wonderful, tons of counter space, the indoor grill, steamer and deep fryer were all nice amenities. We were shocked as every utility or appliance we wanted was there. Sheri even had an ice-cream maker and shake mixer. The peace and serenity in the home was palpable. With teenagers and careers, both families lead active and full lives. We did spend a day in Louisville (75 minute drive) but most of our time was at the house hanging out and fellowshipping. . The property is tucked away on a hill in central Kentucky like a hidden gem. Many of the surrounding roads are narrow and curvy, making for some difficult driving at times especially if in a large SUV...but nothing a little slower driving can’t cure. We made one trip into Harrodsburg about 12 miles away to get food supplies so that we could maximize our time enjoying the property. We’ve vacationed at several nice properties over the past 12 years; this is the first property where we are considering returning to. In fact we’re struggling on whether we tell friends and family about how great the property is in case they want to take advantage, or if we keep it to ourselves as our private family get away. In the end Larry & Sheri have been kind enough to share this gift of a property, so we will do the same. I have a hard time envisioning how any family would not enjoy the space, luxury, amenities and peace that this vacation property offers. Being there was indeed a blessing.
