This Caravan Path home is located on a one acre, beautifully wooded lot. This villa has been completely refurnished with brand new furniture, linens, kitchen appliances and dishes. All you need to bring is your toothbrush and a camera to capture all the memories you will create from this exciting get-a-way. Enjoy a relaxing environment, with numerous activities, all available within minutes.
In addition to the extensive accommodations this home has to offer, also enjoy the large screened lanai and pool. Enjoy a relaxing cup of coffee by the pool to start your day. An electric grill has been placed in the screened lanai to allow "out-door" cooking even in inclement weather.
Pets are welcome as long as they are house trained. There is a fenced backyard for your convenience.
The waterway is tidal (the Gulf of Mexico is only seven miles away down the Crystal River) but is always navigable for pleasure craft.
Kings Bay is fresh since it is spring fed and there is prolific fish life present. Bass, mullet, redfish, snapper, catfish and even trout are present. The fish life provides an ideal environment for birds and various diving birds are constantly searching for food.
Turtles are very often seen and the manatee always visit. There are 30 to 50 manatee in the bay year round and the number swells to more than 300 in the colder months. On occasion, dolphins come to feed and provide a spectacular sight.
The water temperature is stable throughout the year at around 72 degrees due to the springs. This explains the fact that Crystal River is home to the largest number of manatee in the US, since as soon as the water temperature in the Gulf starts to fall the manatee head for Kings Bay.
Manatee viewing trips are available, as are guided snorkeling or scuba trips, however there are so many manatee in the Bay during the season that they can be seen from bridges and boats. Swimming with the manatee is increasing in popularity and there are several areas that can not be entered to protect the gentle giants.
The fishing in the area is spectacular. Trout, snapper and redfish are abundant in the bay and inshore, while off-shore grouper, trout, mackerel and cobia are abundant. There are many professional guides who specialize in fishing trips.
Boats can be hired from several places in Crystal River but if you decide to bring your own then there is a free communal ramp at Pete’s Pier as well as two county ramps on Ft. Island Trail. There is plenty of room to store your boat/trailer at Caravan Path.
If golfing is your pleasure, there are over 10 golf courses that are all within a 30 minute drive or less.
If the local attractions of the Nature Coast are insufficient, Disney, Universal Studios and the other theme parks in Orlando are only 90 minutes away and Busch Gardens in Tampa is even closer, around 75 minutes via the Suncoast Parkway.
