LAKE ARROWHEAD, just 5 minutes from the cabin, is located in the majestic San Bernadino mountains, only 90 miles East of Los Angeles and about 5,100' above sea level, LAKE ARROWHEAD is a paradise of outdoor fun, recreation & year-round beauty.
The 784 acre deep blue lake has been called the 'Jewel of Southern California'. The areas perfect mile high elevation, spawns a wide variety of beautiful foliage throughout the mountain. You will find sixteen varieties of pine and oak trees among our majestic lakes and streams, making for a picturesque backdrop for your next visit.
Year-round Lake Arrowhead offers an eighty-five percent (85%) chance of sunshine and blue skies. April through October, your chances are even better! And, our summers are typically 10 to 30 degrees cooler than the valley or desert communities.
THE 4 SEASONS In the springtime we have daffodils, tulips, dogwoods and many varieties of wildflowers blooming. Wildflowers continue to bloom through the summer months adding to the lush green landscape. Autumn brings color to the trees with bright orange, red and yellow leaves. In winter, snow capped peaks and pristine vistas of fallen white powder cover our mountains.
TWIN PEAKS is a small, residential community located less than 4 miles east of Lake Arrowhead, or a 10 minute drive. Within walking distance from the Cabin is one of the area's finest restaurants, The Grill at Antler's Inn, as well as Mountain High Market, a small grocery/liquor store. Just five minutes away in Blue Jay are several more excellent restaurants...we highly recommend for casual fare, Texifornia Tamale Co (excellent Tex Mex Food and fabulous service, with vegan options), The Lake Arrowhead Sports Grill, and Bill's Village Coffee Shop and for more elegant dining, Casual Elegance or the Royal Oak. Jensen's is an excellent market with Starbucks inside and an excellent wine selection, deli and bakery. Grab a movie after dinner at the Fandango Theater, showing current movies. Continue down highway 189 into Lake Arrowhead and Arrowhead Village, where you will find outlet malls (Coach, Bass, Jockey, Van Husen, among others), art galleries, gift shops and men's and women's clothing boutiques. Feed the ducks at the marina before stopping in for excellent Belgian Waffles at the Belgian Waffle Works or mexican food at Papagayos...Thai cuisine, McDonald's and Subway are also located in the Village, as well as Stater Bros. for groceries. Visit the Lake Arrowhead Resort for a fine dining experience with incredible views, or just have a drink in the bar for a truly mountain lodge experience. Spa services are available to non-guests.
When you visit the village, be sure to make time for the Lake Arrowhead Queen Boat Tour, which gives a great history of the area and offers a beautiful tour of the homes around the lake.
If you are an animal lover, visit Wildhave Ranch, a Wildlife Rehabilitation Center and Sanctuary.
Year Purchased: 2001
About the owner: Robbie and Kristen (Mother and Daughter) purchased the cabin in 2001 as a weekend getaway from their Los Angeles area homes. Robbie loved it so much that she and her husband retired to Lake Arrowhead and now live their full time. Kristen resides in Manhattan Beach but goes up often to enjoy the cabin and visit her mom.
Why the Owner Chose Twin Peaks: Growing up camping and enjoying the mountains during family vacations meant a mountain getaway was always on our bucket list! In 2001 we pooled our resources and found our little cabin sweet cabin in Twin Peaks!
The Unique Benefits at this House: We have put a lot of TLC into it and have probably spent more time up there working than relaxing but at the end of the day when we sit out on the deck with a glass of wine, enjoying the sounds of the mountains and forest, we know it has all been worth it!
