Juneau house description
This comfortable, quiet, unit looks out over downtown Juneau, the harbor, Mount Roberts Tram, the summer cruise ships and the majestic Mount Juneau. Eagles fly and rest next to the unit.
Your unit is fully private and is down a short, covered, lighted set of 14 stairs. The unit is next to the woods so not only does it have spectacular views of Juneau, the mountains and the water, but also has the feel of being tucked into the woods. It has two bedrooms, great room with dining area and table and chairs, full kitchen with island stool seating, full bathroom, pantry, a back family room with more coaches, and a private deck with tables, chairs, and propane BBQ.
Directly to the right of the unit is a forest wilderness’ area that includes a short nature path leaving from our unit.
The home is at the end of a very nice street with lighting and sidewalks.
A short wilderness trail begins at the unit and a five minute walk up the street takes you to the trailhead of one of the best trails in Juneau, the Dan Moller trail. This three-mile trail ends at the Dan Moller Cabin, a Forest Service public day use cabin that includes a heater. Nice place to dry out and have lunch. You can rent the cabin for the night from the Forest Service for a small fee.
Your private deck is partially covered and includes deck chairs, table and a propane bbq. Inside the sliding glass doors is a great room with a 40” flat screen with DVD, dining room with table and four chairs, a large comfortable couch a modern chair recliner – great for reading, aka napping.
Three stools surround the stove\cooking\kitchen island area. The kitchen is nicely equipped with full oven, range, dish washer and double wide fridge with ice and filtered water and many small appliances.
We'll do a free (receipt costs only) run to Costco or the local grocery store so when you get there you have what you need to relax. …but already in the unit are plenty of the basics including blender, mixing bowls, plates, cups and glasses, wine glasses, cooking pans, flour, muffin mix, spices, butter, coffee maker and coffee :)
A full washer and dryer are also private for you along with a sitting and family room in the back with an office area, and another bed. This family room is a great place for the kids to spread-out or a quiet place to work.
The bathroom has a tiled, heated floor with full tub\shower. Bathroom is pass-through so you can get to it directly from the main bedroom or the hallway.
Both bedrooms have comfortable beds, night stands, closet, clocks, IPhone players, and other amenities. Bedroom one also has its own flat screen with full cable and DVD.
The dining area has a table with four chairs and there is an additional full-sized table on the deck with four chairs.
There is a road bike and a mountain bike for your use parked at your unit – including helmets. There is also a double kayak but while we’ll provide the life-jackets, you’ll need to provide the other amenities (requirements) for kayaking including radio, noise-makers, and self-rescue devices. The reason we don’t provide all of that equipment is because we don’t want people taking the kayak unless they have all that stuff and know how to use it. The water is too cold not to take seriously.
The unit is a 5 minute drive or 20 minute walk to the local Foodland IGA grocery store, restaurants and bars. An additional five minute walk takes you to the heart of downtown Juneau. It is 12 minute drive to Costco.
High-speed wireless Internet is included with your stay.
We want to make this your relaxing vacation get away. We’re there if you need anything, but if you like your privacy, then our paths will not likely pass unless you need anything or we happen to be getting out of our cars at the same time.
If you don’t have a car, taxi fare from the airport generally runs $23.00. There is parking for your car next to the unit. It’s only a three minute walk from the unit to the city bus system. The City bus system will take you anywhere in Juneau including within a half mile of the glacier visitor center.
Enjoy. We’re confident that you’ll love the place and the location.

Wonderful Hospitality First Class Accommodations
Wonderful Hospitality First Class Accommodations
We stayed 9 nights, the place was everything we dreamed about! Cleanest place we've ever stayed thanks to the owners managing the property themselves, key when looking for a VRBO! Cupboards were well stocked with all the essentials just like home, just needed the meat and potatoes. Best possible view of the channel and Juneau, quite dead end street, no traffic no noise. Owners were very informative and most helpful, any questions about where to go what to do, where to eat they were right on. We highly recommend staying here for anyone wanting the Best of Juneau, we can't say enough about the property and the hospitality. We did the hike to the top of Robert"s Tramway, flew to Skagway, rode the White Pass Railroad, panned for gold in Gold Creek, took the Tracey Arm excursion, did the Flight and Salmon dinner to Taku Glacier Lodge, hiked to the ice cave at Mendehall Glacier. All these excursions were absolute First Class. We enjoyed the food at The Hangar, Sandpiper Cafe, Rookery Cafe as well as the Capital Cafe. One should plan to check out the Macauley Hatchery, if the fish are running might want to buy a fishing pole! We look forward and plan to come back again.

Awesome Juneau Vacation
Awesome Juneau Vacation
We have had many positive experiences with VRBO and this had to be the best yet! Everything is as described. The setting makes this place really shine. Even though Juneau does not have a lot of roads, we were happy to get the last car available at the airport and recommend the same for others. Juneau is gorgeous and even better when you have time and are not bound to get back to a ship. Our family fly fished with Bear Creek Outfitters (Evan is an awesome guide), boat fished with Hi-Time Charters (crew was Ben and Nani) and ice climbed on Mendenhall Glacier. We were also happy to spend time with the owners who were genuinely interested in our stay in Juneau. After seeing the hotels in town, RBH stood out even more. Kudos and thanks to Steve and Ann Marie for a great place and a great stay. Come see us soon. M, T, N and C.

Owner response: Thanks Anna! We've enjoyed having you.
A terrific place to stay while in Juneau. Comfortable accommodations and the views of downtown Juneau and the Gastineau Channel are incredible. The added bonus was the privacy and the proximity to the forest. The condo was very relaxing and inviting and had a cozy feel to it. The extra efforts to make it a top-notch rental were clearly visible. We would certainly stay at this property again and would have no hesitation recommending it to everyone! So glad we chose it!

Absolutely great place to stay!! Very accommodating owners who are wonderful to talk to and eager to help with anything they might have missed! Fantastic location and a short drive to Sandy Beach which we adored and our fave restaurant in Juneau-Island Pub. You will truly enjoy staying here and it is so much nicer than any hotel. We will be back!

All the comforts of home !!!!
All the comforts of home !!!!
I would highly recommend this rental to anyone traveling to Juneau. We had a family reunion in Juneau and four sisters stayed in the rental for four glorious nights. It has breath taking views and is conveniently located near downtown Juneau but yet very privately located at the end of a street with no street traffic. The only traffic you will hear of see is the cruise ships passing by as you lounge on the outside deck. We saw a variety of wild life while enjoying the view of the Gastineau Channel, from the tiny hummingbird to the majestic eagle. The rental was immaculate with a fantastic kitchen any cook would appreciate. The beds were very comfortable with down comforters and fresh white linens. It has a double door refrigerator so you can stock it full of groceries and not have to go out for every meal. It has a nice washer and dryer so you don't have to worry about finding a Laundromat. The owners of the property were very friendly and helpful with any questions we had. When it was time for us to leave I didn't want to go. I gave this a 5 star rating but it deserves a 10 !!!!

Relax-ing on Blueberry
Relax-ing on Blueberry
Relax-ing on Blueberry We arrived late and just wanted to get to our place and rest, so we were hoping for the best. We were not disappointed, the simple directions made it very easy to find. They texted and emailed the combination to the door so when we arrived, we were able to go right in. The place was beautiful, clean and larger than we thought it would be. The view out the windows was overlooking downtown Juneau, two cruise ships sitting in the Harbor (one was leaving) and the steep face of Mount Juneau right there. Amazing. The place was as described on VBRO. Everything is nice. It has a large great room with dining area, couch, recliner (I napped a few times here) and a nice little kitchen. We fell in the love with the kitchen where we could look out the windows while we were cooking. Nice! The two bedrooms were very comfortable and quiet. You never know what the rooms will be like in an unknown place (the reason while I normally stay at nicer hotels) but I was quite pleased. Our child took advantage of the back family room area as his own play area. While we did not take the owners up on their offer to do a grocery run before we got there, we were pleasantly pleased to find juice and soda in the fridge and semi-stocked pantry. When I woke up I thought we would have to go out for breakfast, but the pantry had nice little waffle maker and mix sitting already there. We had waffles, juice and coffee for breakfast. No syrup but there was jelly! Very pleasant way to start our vacation and family wedding preparations. The house is on the edge of the forest so while you’re on the deck, it is like you’re right in the forest. We only had the chance to use the BBQ on the once but the deck was a nice place to hang-out. The owners texted us the first full day we were there to see if we needed anything and if everything was in order but we never saw or heard from them other than that. We would recommend this place; though don’t book it when we want it.
