    • We stayed in the cottage for a week in June 2009. We were very happy with this quiet, rural setting in a quaint cottage close to the wonders of West Cork. Lovely host. If you need email--unfortunately I did--there's an internet cafe in Bantry, a must-see town. While there, be sure to visit The Stuffed Olive.

    • charming and peaceful cottage maintained to the highest standard in lovely surroundings. Super little touches such as the fresh basil growing by the back door, fresh flowers, fruit and home grown tomatoes all there to greet you on arrival. Many thanks to Rachel and Andrew, can't wait to return.

    • We stayed at Rachel and Andrew's lovely cottage in late July 2008. It was the highlight of a trip which took us to Paris, Provence and London. It took us two hours to drive from Cork to Durrus, then a few miles more up a small road surrounded by heather filled hillsides, inlets and mist enshrouded fields. Arriving at the cottage was pure delight -- we were met by the very friendly Rachel who showed us about and we were more than happy with the accommodations. It was exactly what we had hoped for -- our own little cottage with two bedrooms upstairs, a supremely comfortable bed with down duvet, fireplace, well stocked kitchen and bath and views all around. We particularly enjoyed having our own garden space and the fully stocked washer and dryer. There is a wonderful and well thought out selection of books and Irish music at the cottage which we enjoyed very much. We spent our few days there taking long walks, taking drives to Crookhaven (where you must try the seafood chowder) and to the top of the Sheepshead Peninsula where we had scones and tea in a tiny cabin at the top. The peace and quiet of the cottage and the accommodating nature of Rachel and Andrew made us feel well taken care of. Many thanks for a wonderful stay - we look forward to visiting again soon.

    • We have just returned from a really lovely 10 day trip to Rachel & Andrew's magical cottage retreat in Durrus. They are exceptionally gracious and helpful hosts and really make you feel at home. Like others who have stayed, the added touches of fresh flowers, excellent kitchen facilites, home grown veg, herbs& tomotoes were very welcome. There was ample wood & coal (& firelighters) for the fire were very welcome. There is really excellent walks all around the cottage and it is a great unspoilt base for touring Sheeps Head and beyond. Enjoy. Thanks to these guys- we return to work tomorrow refreshed and renewed.

    • My boyfriend and I stayed at this beautiful country cottage last week...wow, what a treat! The location was idyllic...really magical countryside and a rambling beautiful garden that overlooked the sea... close to the charming village with pubs and shop... The owners went the extra mile by putting in a selection of bathroom products, wash powder, use of a wonderful CD collection and a library of books to read...everywhere was clean and window ledges filled with flowers... They offered us vegetables from their own garden and were so helpful...providing us with directions to deserted beaches and local castles/monuments... ...we have returned home with our batteries fully charged (they took away the stress!) and will definately book again for future peaceful holidays....recommended!!! ps. The pony in the field adjacent to the cottage even gave birth to a foal the week we were there...it is unspoilt Ireland at its best!

    • Our family spent 3 days at the cottage in May of this year. What a perfect, perfect, perfect setting. With young children in tow, the cottage, gardens and surrounding landscape offered everything you could ever hope for from Ireland. Rachel made the stay even that much more delightful. I would highly recommend the cottage for families with young children.

    • We spent a week at this lovely cottage set in picturesque grounds in April 2008 and were really pleased with our choice. It was very well equipped, warm and cosy and Rachel and Andrew were excellent hosts, even supplying some fresh vegies from the garden. We explored a lot of the surrounding area which is very beautiful. They supplied lots of tourist information which made finding our way about simple. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this cottage.

    • We spent three gloriously warm and sunny days here in mid-February 2008, and we thoroughy enjoyed the gracious yet unobtrusive hospitality of hosts Rachel and Andrew. The cottage is inviting, cozy and fully furnished. We especially appreciated the luxurious down comforters with electric warmers, as well as the ability to walk around the lovely gardens unfettered, enjoying the panoramic views of the nearby bay. We'll definitely treasure our many memories of Sheepshead peninsula and look forward to returning soon.

    • We had such a friendly welcome when we arrived at the Cheyne's stone cottage in Durrus. We were greeted with daffodils which meant so much to us as we had just left snowy, cold Maine in February. The turf fire in the cottage kept us warm and cosy as we enjoyed our week. Andrew and Rachel recommended O'Sullivan's pub in Crookhaven and we enjoyed a delicous seafood chowder there. We greatly appreciated their personal outlook on the area and it was most helpful to us as we explored County Cork. Our eight mile hike on Sheep's Head was a highlight. Having just returned to more snow and cold in Maine, my husband and I are fondly remembering the green grass and many flowers of Ireland in February!
