Kalanikai Condominiums are located in the heart of Kailua-Kona at the intersection of Kuakini Highway and Henry Street. Enjoy short walks to the oceanfront village. There you will find several choices for casual and fine dining, ample shopping and historical sites.
In the center of town is Mokuaikaua church, the first Christian church built in the Hawaiian Islands in 1820. The current structure was built in 1832. Directly across the street from the church is the historic Hulihee Palace and museum, home of old Hawaiian Royalty. The pier is just to the north. Left of the pier is the start for the 2.4 mile open ocean swim for the Ironman Triathlon.
You can swim the same course too if that's how you want to spend your vacation! In the evenings, stroll along the oceanfront on Alii Drive or sit on the seawall to watch the famous Hawaii sunsets. Our favorite spot for watching this spectacular performance is from the open-air bar in the historic Kona Inn!
The Big Island is about the size of Connecticut. It has lush rainforests, botanical gardens and waterfalls, lava deserts, pristine beaches, a snow covered mountain, an active volcano, spectacular sunsets and activities to complete anyone's vacation dream. Come experience the Spirit of Aloha. Relax and enjoy yourselves as we share our home with you. It can accommodate up to four people. The bedroom has a queen size bed and the living room has a queen size sleeper couch. There are ceiling fans in each of these rooms. The living room has cable TV, a DVD and a CD stereo. A variety of CD's are provided to set the mood for your Hawaiian vacation.
The bedroom has cable TV and a radio alarm. The kitchen was remodeled in 2004 with new floor tile, cabinets and appliances. We are on the top floor of a three story concrete building affording an ocean view and cooling breezes. There is air-conditioning, but most days you won't need it. NO SMOKING PLEASE.
After a day of sightseeing or playing in the ocean, come back to relax by the pool. Bring home some fresh fish for dinner. The 'grillmaster' in your family will be happy to prepare your dinner while you are relaxing poolside. There are two gas grills for your use.
This is our home. Please come and enjoy these comforts for less than most Big Island hotel accommodations!
