Our freshly painted and redecorated 2 bedroom/2 bath condo is on the northeast corner of the ninth floor of the Coronado Bay tower, high enough for a wonderful view, but low enough for you to hear the roar of the waves crashing onto the sand. All exterior walls are glass, for spectacular views, and the wall separating this unit from the next door neighbor is concrete, for maximum privacy. The lower sections of glass are fixed, and the upper sections slide open to let in the ocean breezes. Being on the east side means that it does not get the harsh afternoon sun and heavy shades allow you to darken the bedrooms if you would like to nap. The fully equipped kitchen (stainless steel appliances and granite counter tops) is open style, so no one is ever cut off from the fun, and you can enjoy the view of the mountains as you brew your morning coffee. Behind the kitchen, you will find the utility room, with a small sink, new washer/dryer and extra supplies. In the spacious master bedroom, you can watch the flat screen television before dozing off in the new king size bed. All of your luggage will fit easily into the big walk-in closet and the large en suite bath with cabinets and granite counter top gives you plenty of convenient storage space. The second bedroom has a queen size bed and is right next to the second bathroom. Coronado Bay is a beautiful, secure development where you can admire the lovely flowers and manicured grounds as you pass by on your way to the infinity pool that overlooks the beach. If you have children in tow, you can go on past the infinity pool, down the stairs to the beach level where you can stretch out on a chaise lounge and soak up the sun while they play in the children’s pool, protected from the sun’s rays by the large tarps overhead. Just beyond the children’s pool is a cabana area where guests gather for fitness classes and a few steps beyond that is the beach access gate. After a leisurely stroll along the beach at low tide, you can explore the rock outcropping that emerges as the waves recede, exposing an inviting tidal pool teeming with small crabs and possibly a fish or two. As you re-enter the gate, using the key fob that opens all of the access doors and gates on the property, there is a shower station and a hose for rinsing the sand off of your feet. For a change of scenery, just take the elevator to the rooftop, where you will find a sparkling pool with chaise lounges for sunning and a large, shaded social area with comfy sofas and chairs for visiting with friends or relaxing with a good book. The Plexiglas wall that surrounds the rooftop gives you breathtaking, unobstructed views of the coastline, the ocean, or the mountains, which you can enjoy without getting up from your chair. If you’d like to work out, you can go up the stairs to the gym and use any of the exercise equipment. Coronado Bay is on the beach in the gated community of Coronado, within walking distance of three restaurants and a convenience market and a quick 2 mile taxi ride from the commercial center of town. Guests have easy access to four super markets, many restaurants, ATM’s, casinos, beauty salons, an equestrian center, a healthcare clinic, shopping, and the fast food mainstays, McDonald’s and KFC. It is approximately 1.5 hours from Panama City’s Tocumen Airport and 30-45 minutes from the mountain community and handicraft markets of El Valle de Anton. It makes a great base from which to explore this part of Panama. It was “love at first sight” when we walked into this condo, and we hope you will enjoy our little slice of heaven as much as we do!
