Wonderful, Secluded Cabin
Wonderful, Secluded Cabin
We went on a very cold day in the winter and the cabin stayed very warm. The next two days were in the 50's and we did not even run the heat at all. The cabin was extremely comfortable and well insulated. The isolated cabin was extremely quiet with wonderful nature noises to put you to sleep. The last day there, we saw a dozen deer. This was the perfect getaway.

We're 'flat-landers' from West of Chicago. Had a great stay as we decided to spend Christmas & New Years in Arkansas. Comfortable for a family of 5, without the side cottage, and can even hold another 2 - 4 if needed + 2 in the side cottage. The side cottage is very clean & cozy too, but we didn't use it. There is nobody else in plain view. Cabin is in the valley between two mountain ridges. Vicki was always helpful and responsive helping us along the way. 10 - 15 min ride into town and Mtn View is very hospitable. Would like to do a summer trip and tube down the creek running thru the property w/ a cooler of spirits!

Relaxing & Beautiful
Relaxing & Beautiful
Cabin at the Creek is all that is promised in the description. The owners were very helpful and the cabin was clean. We loved the simple decor, it perfectly matched the house and highlighted the natural beauty from outside the windows. We fished and explored the surrounding area, there is a fire pit we wish we could have used but it rained our last night. We are hoping to return with our family in the future. However, I am afraid this place will become very popular and we won't be able to book it, it really is a gem : ) A few tips for visitors: - The driveway is steep but the scenery is beautiful. We had no trouble with a small car. - If you are staying for a long time and are planning to cook your meals, you might want to bring your favorite pots and pans. The ones they provided were great for a small stay, but if we come back I will bring a few of my own. But maybe I'm just a picky cook : ) - We ate at JoJo's and Tommy's Famous Pizza. Both are good local places and we were satisfied. - If you like to explore bring good boots. There is a path cut in the tall grass, but you will be able to do a lot more if you have good "snake boots"

What a great cabin. It feels secluded without being too far from everything. We will definitely go back - and have already shared with friends!

Wonderful fall weekend getaway!
Wonderful fall weekend getaway!
This was a wonderful venue for a weekend getaway in the Ozarks! True to Arkansas weather, it was warm enough to swim and wade in the creek (which is beautiful and clear) one day, and cold enough to hike with coats on the next :). The accomodations are simple and lovely. The drive in is on a gravel road, but not alarming in any way (if you have ever driven on a gravel road before) like some folks made it out to be. I think the gravel road adds to the charm and seclusion. You could not ask for a more secluded and beautiful setting. We loved it and plan to return. I think this is a great cabin for all seasons! I would highly recommend if you want a secluded spot to get away from it all. In my opinion, finding a selcuded spot can be hard, but this one fits the bill! Also, a whole fmaily of deer came to visit us the last morning we were there. It was wonderful to stand on the porch and watch them. It is also an easy 15 minute drive to town and all ammenitities, which is a great bonus!

Definitely an adventure! When we arrived there was a county wide power outage. We used that time to explore South Sylamore Creek and the land surrounding the cabin. Such beautiful surroundings! We were able to enjoy splashing in the creek, picking up rocks, and watching the hummingbirds. At sunset we watch the sky fire up the mountain top in the distance while listening to turkeys flying up to roost. The cabin was clean and well appointed. We cannot wait to return to Mt. View and South Sylamore Creek.

Manager response: Thank you for being a good sport about the power outage. I'm glad they got it restored quickly. We look forward to having ya'll back sometime soon.
This place is so relaxing. The cabin is lovely and very clean. The road getting there is a bit steep but its worth it. The creek is cool and clear... Overall it's a beautiful place that we want to revisit! The only suggestion I have is a porch swing!

The Perfect Ozark Cabin
The Perfect Ozark Cabin
This is a striking cabin, simple, without forced ruggedness. The creek is a short and pleasant walk from the front porch. A deep pool is just yards downstream, perfect for fishing or swimming. The property was well maintained. Refreshingly clean. Amy (the manager) was very attentive and kind. I consider myself an aficionado of Ozark cabins. This is my new favorite.

Manager response: We're so glad that you enjoyed your stay and would love to have you back again!
We loved the location being so private. The cabin was excellently designed for our family. Being close to a creek that large was wonderful and we spent a lot of time there. We loved it so much we will probably come back. We did have some concerns: property line is not defined. Neighbors down river had to tell us we were trespassing, fire alarm downstairs was missing and one fire alarm battery was dead. No broom to clean up. No garbage can to put garbage bags in. No garbage bags provided, except the first one. Bugs were in the bedroom so much that they got in our suitcases and in our bed. No dishwashing soap. Return will be conditioned on these concerns being taken care of.

Manager response: Thank you for letting us know the fire alarm batteries needed to be replaced. Thankfully, that’s an easy fix. If a guest removes the fire alarm from the wall, we will obviously replace it. The cabin does have a broom; it’s always been stored between the refrigerator and the wall. We leave trash bags based on our renter’s stay, and amount of people staying due to severe trash abuse in the past. We don’t provide an outside can because of our rural location and wildlife. We simply ask that guests leave the bagged trash in the house for us to remove after your departure. Dishwashing soap is provided and located under the sink in the kitchen. I don’t know why or how the bugs got into your bedroom. Our housekeeper cleans thoroughly between each guest and has not seen any bugs in the bedroom. If guests go in and out the balcony door, it’s possible the bugs came in at that time. These concerns are simple, easy fixes and that is why we ask renters to let us know of any missing items or any concerns upon arrival or within the first 24 hours of their stay. My email and personal phone number is left in the cabin for your convenience. Please contact me so issues can be resolved during your stay. Thank you for staying with us, I hope you do decide to come back again!
Cabin at the Creek
Cabin at the Creek
We really enjoyed our stay at the cabin. While I am listing the pros and cons, I would like to be clear that for me, the pros absolutely outweighed the cons. Pros: - Gorgeous cabin and beautiful property - Very roomy. 2 bedrooms, 2 futons and a couch that pulls out. - Night time view from master balcony is like nothing I have ever seen at night. We saw multiple satellites and meteorites. My daughter loved the lightning bug show:) Amazing and romantic. Frankly made our stay here. If we come back, I will be bringing a telescope. Fabulous!!! Only thing that could have made it better is a 2 person hammock (hint, hint, LOL). - Very remote and secluded. Great for privacy. - Beds comfy. Master bed is firmer than the guest bedroom - There is a creek on the property that you can fish and swim in and hunt for rocks with fossils. - Lots of room for the kids to run and explore Cons - You do have to drive down over a mile of dirt / gravel road. The last half mile or so is a bit nerve racking as it is downhill. - You cannot drink the well water. Be sure to bring plenty for drinking and brushing teeth. - Cabin could have been cleaner. There was stuff spilled all inside the refrigerator. We had to scrub it down before we could use it. - There is no washer or dryer. Things to know - If you want to enjoy a glass of wine while star gazing, be sure to bring it with you. Cabin is in a dry county. It is about a 40 mile drive to a county with wine - and even then it is hard to find. - Cabin is in the country. If you have kids, you will need bug spray as there are ticks and mosquitoes. - Bring your own DVD's to entertain the little ones. There is a TV and DVD player. - You can get cell reception. - There is a one bedroom unit right next to the cabin that could be rented for extra family members, or possibly a stranger. I am not sure how often it is rented, but the cabin website calendar shows when things are rented. If this would be an issue, you could check that.

Manager response: We're so glad that your family enjoyed your stay with us and we hope that you can come back, again! I do want to mention that since your visit we have upgraded the water filtration system to double what it had been before and also made some changes to the well. The water is very clear and free of any sediment from the well and is drinkable for any guest. Also, we have recently added a washer and dryer in the Main Cabin for guest use. Thank you for your review and encouraging others to come visit us, we appreciate it!
