  I went in October half term and the weather was luxurious, despite it not being high season. I am in my late teens, and Villa Sounion is a perfect escape from schools and exams. The view is phenomenal and you are lost within it; the weather hot but not overwhelmingly humid ( so you are guaranteed a tan) and the snorkeling is unbeatable because the coral is untouched. At night the stars glisten vividly and i could spend hours on the dock, relaxing in the darkness. If you are looking for fun in the villa, it is a great house to have friends with you. The house is so open and you can plug your ipod into the stereo - blasting your favourite music everywhere in the house. You feel like you are at MTV cribs party! The pool lights up at night, inviting you for a fun midnight swim, while everyone congregates for a night time party on the patio, with homemade cocktails. Although, if you are desperate to escape the villa, there are water sports, banana boats, and para-sailing all at grace bay. Also having experienced the diving: if you are able to, it is a must! There are some fantastic restaurants, for both picky and adventurous tastes. Should it be a concern, both the internet and the television are carefree, so you can experience this whilst being in contact with civilisation. For the children especially, there is a wide range of channels to choose from. Villa Sounion really is perfect. It is pleasing for both those who want to relax, and for those who want to explore the real Caribbean.

  Owner response: Villa Sounion is popular with families due to dispersed layout of the bedrooms, but this works equally well for groups of adults! I have 4 children and they have been visiting the house since the youngest was 3.5 (now 10 years old) and the eldest was 10, so I have plenty of tips for activities for children. Judy

  My family went to Turks and Caicos in June 2010. There are 6 of us, two adults, two teenagers, and two ten and under. The home is lovely and is generally as pictured in the photos. My review is mixed however, due to some minor details, but given the price being paid, details that need to be attended to. First - the home is not little kid friendly from a bedroom layout perspective. Each bedroom is separate. The three on the lower level are not even close to the master, so the little kids were a bit freaked out by staying by themselves. In addition, we kept hearing so much about petty thieves, we were a bit concerned about the kids safety being so far away. They were ok, but it left some restless nights for the parents and kids. The one bedroom, the blue with the two queen beds does NOT have a TV, VCR as represented in the photos. There were several lights that were out, one of concern was the lights from the house to the second master. It was very dark at night going to/from this room. The owners charge extra for any electricity usage above 750KWH. I believe this is somewhat normal on the island. However, we asked about this prior to our arrival and were told that no one ever goes over. Well...you won't go over if you don't use the air conditioning. We ended up not turning on the air several nights due to missing remotes that operated the air conditioners and just trying to watch the kwh usage. If you do go over, you will be an upcharge of .40/kwh versus what the utility company charges of .28. We were told that we would be met by a person at the house who would show us around and show us how things worked. Well, she showed up but had no idea how to operate anything except the alarm system. We ended up having to find things ourselves, we didn't receive the water and wine as promised, and had to hook up our own VCR's to get them to work. Again, it is a beautiful house but the finer points should be addressed given the rental fees. Lastly - the reef is nice, but there are lots of waves due to the house being on the windward side. This makes snorkeling challenging for the younger kids.

  unsurpassable location on the seafront, a 50 metre stroll and you're snorkelling on the reef amongst amazing varieties of fish and other sealife, fabulous corals. Saw a huge ray on my final snorkel, at least 6foot span, right in the shallows - breathtaking. Comfortable beds, good bathrooms, fabulous kitchen to work in, and two perfect sitting out areas, on the balcony for meals and on the extremely comfy sofas in the shade. Spectacular views from each of these locations, enhanced by the magic sight of a pelican or osprey scooting past.

  The Sounion Villa is truly breathe taking. This villa and the location provided our family with such an amazing vacation that we have stayed twice. Upon entering the property the view is remarkable, from the lush landscaping, to the beautiful pool, to (my personal favorite) the pristine liquid blue/green ocean. The coral reefs are just steps away from the dock. The coral, sea life and dozens of species of fish are fantastic and tower over any snorkling one would find in the Hawaiian islands. This home is incredibly clean and well maintained. The beautiful woman who comes to clean is a delight and is very attentive to ensuring the villa meets the highest level of cleanliness. The kitchen seems to be the focal point for my family. It is situated in exactly the perfect spot. It overlooks the pool, the ocean and sits adjacent to the open air patio where we eat most all our meals. Watching the sunsets from that balcony patio is a daily blessing we did not miss. At night you will make your way to the dock to recline on the chaise lounge to look at the stars and constellations. The sky is liquid black, the stars are so brilliant and don't be surprised to see a shooting or falling star, that is a common occurance. Sitting on the dock at night is where our family feels truly connected. Playing charades, talking and laughing. No distractions from cell phones or text messages. For new villa guests be aware that the road to the villa is a little bumpy. I have come to love the bumpy road, it's just one sign that this gorgeous home is secluded and it's worth getting to. Lastly, the Property Owner and the Property Manager (who is located on the island) are remarkable people. Their desire is to guarantee you and your family the best vacation imaginable. Our family feels blessed to know them. When I stay at the Sounion Villa I never want to leave, but all great things do come to an end. You can be assured we will stay a third, fourth and fifth time in the coming years. Thank you!

  It is almost paradise!! We had an absolutely amazing time in Providenciales and Villa Sounion. The owner was very helpful during the reservation process and gave us plenty of information and help. The Villa has everything you need. We enjoyed the lap pool, listened to music and relaxed at the different terraces. We had drinks at night and played cards. We even got inspired to cook looking at the amazing turquoise colors from the sea and the very open kitchen. The design of the villa is very convenient and comfortable. During the day, we were amazed by the fabulous snorkeling, right out in front of the Villa’s deck. We saw turtles, barracudas, different kind of fish and a huge lobster. The coral reef is untouched and protected. We did go to Five Cays looking for our fresh fish, and got two huge groupers. We prepared a feast using the barbeque grill. We were two couples, five teenagers and one child and we all had a great time. We enjoyed the tranquility and privacy of the villa but at the same time we had everything very close. The supermarket is about 7 minutes away. Turtle Cove Marina is pretty close and you will find there restaurants, and boats to arrange trips to the Cays or farther islands. We booked with “Fifi” from Caicos Adventures and we went all the way to Parrot Cay. The children did different kinds of activities at Grace Bay Beach, including parasailing. There is a delicious bakery called Fresh Bake Bakery across the Casablanca Casino where you can find delicious pastries, cakes and pockets…. Carla, the property manager, was very helpful. We stayed one week but is not enough to enjoy the island and the villa. The Island is peaceful and quiet and you really can relaxed and forget about the daily rush of the cities and all worries. You just need to get familiar to the driving and the roundabouts. The local people are very friendly. We are back to reality!

  A fabulous place for a boys week bonefishing. After four years of trying to catch the elusive Florida bonefish at last I came to T & C and caught the most amazing bone fish. The villa was the perfect pad. We could pick up food and beer within five minutes and on the first evening we saw the best fisherman in the world when an Osprey flew over gripping a fish. We shared the cooking and were up early so that we could meet up with Ed Missick from Catch the Wave fishing guides. We had an absolutely fantastic week and if you want to catch plenty of bonefish, even if they are not huge ones, this is the place. You will find the guides have the most unbelievable fish sense. After the fishing we crashed a few of the local drinking dens and had fun and we also hit the famous Bougalous famous Conch shack and played fierce dominoes with the locals. What a blast.

  Villa Sounion has the most idyllic location, with every room facing the breathtaking turquoise ocean. The property extends over several levels and comprises a series of inter-connecting units. Stylishly and comfortably furnished, the villa offers conviviality for a large group with its spacious reception and dining areas, yet its bedroom suites arranged individually around the property allow privacy and seclusion at other times. Being able to walk down through the gardens and step directly into the ocean is one of the villa's most sublime features. A leisurely five-minute swim leads onto a coral reef where a diverse and psychedelic array of marine life can be seen. Relaxing on the terrace with a glass of chilled white wine and watching the sun set over the ocean has to be one of life's most enjoyable moments.

  I intended to take a scuba diving course but never bothered. With the snorkeling right outside I could see all species of fish on the island, including the very rare frog fish at the bottom of the dock steps! With the Ospreys fishing every day sitting on the balcony was a bird lover's paradise, with exceptional views thrown in. The villa was 5 star. I had high expectations and the reality surpassed every one. From the time I booked to the time I left, I had no problems. The personal touch provided by the owner, with all the extra information and recommendations was exceptionally useful. It was a true holiday in paradise. The villa was totally private and every moment was a joy. I would recommend it without hesitation!

  Our time at Villa Sounion was just perfect, the minute we opened the door it felt special with the inviting pool and expanse of the carribean sea and coral reef just before you. We found the set up of the villa not only luxurious and spacious but comfortably arranged, the layout worked so well for our large party. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal times mostly taken on the front terrace. Snorkelling in the fabulously clear waters just off your very own private deck was a treat - we saw some amazing fish and a family of turtles. Whilst the location is beautifully peaceful, there is a good choice of activities not far away - the fishing trip was the favourite and the Grouper delicious, cooked on the Bbq. Will definitely revisit.
