The condo far exceeded our expectations. Upon entering, it was spotlessly clean and realisation that the images on the Internet did not do it justice. The location on Pine Avenue was superb with sea views and just steps away from the fantastic beach, pier, shops, restaurants and the free trolley. We had our two children with us age 8 & 12. They had never been fishing before. Sitting on the jetty at the end of the garden they where so excited catching an assortment of fish even though they did catch 3 puffa fish. When asked if they wanted to drive upto Disney or universal the response was " no way, this is much better than Orlando" so this speaks for itself. Never been to Anna Maria before we did have a little concern about being on bay side or gulf side. It became no concern at all due to the location as the beach outside on bay side was superb and Pine Ave was short so a simple walk down and then on gulf side. A beautiful walk was from the condo, onto the beach, around Bean Point (stunning) come off at the Sandbar restaurant and back down Pine. The sunsets and sun rise where fantastic making for some astonishing photos for the album. The Bayou complex was great too and all of the neighbours that we met where great. Sitting at the bottom of the garden we even managed to see 5 Manatee in the canal along with rays and dolphins. We have some great pics. Absolutely fantastic and I will be contacting Chris again to reserve a return visit. Thanks again .

Relaxing; perfect location

Our week at Chris' condo was outstanding. The accommodations were homey and clean and the location was perfect. The big, blue heron visited our back door every morning and we waved to kayaks on the canal. We went to so many great restaurants (no chains) and watched the beautiful sunsets at the tiki beachhouse every night. Visited Two Scoops several times and for a really, special dinner, we ate at Beach Bistro. Can't wait to come back.

Perfect location and condo - just what we needed!

My husband and I recently returned from our stay at the Bayou and believe me once we find a place we like we go back again and again ( which hopefully we will do). We found the condo to be very clean and it is well proportioned to accommodate upto 4 people, everything we needed was there from the well equipped kitchen ,linens, towels and having an internet connection on the Island is a bonus when you have to keep in touch with the real world! My husband is in his element as the condo is literally two minutes walk from the fishing pier, so within three he had dropped his line and got his first catch of the day ! If we didnt feel like taking the car to the beach or restaurants the trolley bus is just outside the door and we have found a treasure in the local store just by the condo, they sell amongst other things homemade bread which we had with our first cup of coffee of the day down by the private dock steps away from the condo patio door. If you want to get away from it all, this is the place, or if you want to venture to Sarasota, Longboat Key, Tampa, this is the place !! Chris was very accommodating for us at short notice which is much appreciated, cant wait for the next time !

Anna Maria Island has become our family's favorite vacation spot. What better place to wind down and relax and enjoy the most beautiful beaches you'll find. If you enjoy sea wildlife you'll be thrilled to watch the Black Skimmers, Terns, Egrets, White Ibis, and many, many birds that flourish on the island and are waiting on the beautiful gulf beaches! You may even see manatee (we saw them twice during our most recent stay!) and it is highly likely that you'll see dolphins, especially on the bay side of the island. Maybe you would enjoy kayaking on the bay or even on the gulf? Maybe you would enjoy bicycle riding around the quaint streets of Anna Maria? You must surely enjoy partaking of locally-owned-and-ran restaurants (non-chain)? There is definitely much, much more! The Bayou Condos are in the perfect location, and this condo is absolutely spectacular! Very neat, very well-kept and perfectly accommodating! Walk around the corner to the historic City Pier (100 years old in 2011). Walk down Pine Avenue and see some of the original homes of Anna Maria, as well as the old Anna Maria jail! You're just down the street from the beautiful sugar sands of the gulf beaches! I could go on and on about our stay, the accommodations, the scenery, the peaceful atmosphere of Anna Maria, but I am only allowed maybe a couple of thousand characters for this review, and I could most certainly use them all up, so I'd best stop here! 8^)

It says on the lamp post that you are now in paradise, and they are right. We had a great time at Chris and Sandy's little condo. Right next to the beach and close to local stores. All this and a wonderful pier to stroll out on in the evening and watch the fishermen or have a meal, or just a cool refreshing beer. Many thanks and to coin a phrase, "We will be back"

My husband and I had a most enjoyable stay at Chris's condo. It was clean, well maintained and we would certainly stay here again. The location was absolutely great...close to the beach, canal and city pier for great fishing. The local restaurants, especially the Waterfront served awesome food with a lovely atmosphere, but if you are in the mood for Italian the local Italian Kitchen had great Take-out (authentic Italian) at budget-conscious prices.....an excellent find. The local general store came in handy several times and had great sandwiches - custom made. The local trolley was free and we utilized this several times. The lobster tacos at the "Eat Here" restaurant in Holmes Beach (a short trolley ride away) were a "must have". All in all....an excellent stay in a lovely little condo. Would not hesitate to recommend this condo to anyone seeking a great escape to the beach.

Our stay was an in and out adventure with our two kids, and the place fit perfectly. Location was nice and quiet, and very comfortable. Place was neat, clean, hospitable and had everything you needed and then some.

Spent 14 days at the Idyllic Anna Maria Island this September 2011 The Condo has everything you need including Wifi . Superb position just across from the City Pier. Very well kept ,very clean and every utility you need to have a perfect stay Very helpful owner People are so friendly Will definitely come again

We truly enjoyed our stay at this centrally located property. No need for a vehicle here... Just walk or bike to everything. A real treat to see manatees in the canal right in the backyard. Canal in the back, Gulf at one end of the street and the Bay at the other, WONDERFUL!

This condo is really excellent, fantastically placed to enjoy all the beauty of Anna Marie. The condo itself has everything you could wish for in a holiday rental. The small added extra's are such a bonus and makes the stay so much more comfortable. We would most definitely re book this condo on our next visit. thanks so much to the owners.

The condo is clean and well maintained and has many amenities such as beach towels, picnic box, sun umbrella etc. It is in an ideal location only a few steps to the beaches. Lots of restaurants within walking distance and the free island tram stops across the road. Be sure to visit Two Scoops cafe and ice cream shop, the staff are so friendly and its the perfect place for breakfast or an evening iced treat.

A magnificent place. Quiet, comfortable, well-appointed. A wonderful place to spend quality time. The Knowles do a terrific job of making this place a superb getaway for those of us looking for calm and security and peace in a spotlessly clean home.

We had just the most amazing time at Chris and Sandy’s condo in Anna Maria Island. The location was just fabulous, the accommodation was superb – clean with everything you might ever need - and the local amenities were perfect with little shops and great local restaurants nearby. Our two young boys (aged 7 and 9 years) loved the beaches and snorkelling (we even saw a manatee swimming alongside us one day on the beach near the Sandbar restaurant – just amazing!), going down to City Pier to watch the locals fishing while we enjoyed a sunset drink, visiting the local restaurants which were all within easy walking distance, heading off to Two Scoops for ice cream at the end of the day. It was so peaceful – just bliss! Everyone was so friendly and it seemed that this part of the island had “real” islanders and not just holiday makers so nice to meet the locals! We loved the place. Thank you Chris and Sandy for letting us stay in your delightful home and for all your recommendations along the way. All in all it was the perfect place to stay – we will definitely be back!

April 2009What a wonderful time! While relaxing and fishing off the dock, we saw a manatee swim by! The condo was in the perfect location for the free trolley (can literally see the stop from the kitchen window), restaurants, ice cream trips, the beach and for exploring this beautiful island. Your hospitality was greatly appreciated (we had a few questions about the island) and the neighbours were wonderful. Our family is looking forward to returning…soon!

Had a wonderful holiday at your condo, location was brilliant, great fishing off the dock and Richard saw a manatee just a few feet away! Fantastic wildlife on Anna Maria - dolphins, loads of birds, just amazing. Great restaurants, particularly liked The Sandbar and Hurricane Hanksand Ginny and Janes is a must! We also saw a play at the local theatre which is definitely worth a visit. We have been fortunate enough to have travelled all over the world, but by far our favourite place has to be Anna Maria Island. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!

We had a fantastic time on Anna Maria Island, and our stay in the condo made it feel like home. It was so comfortable, and the decor certainly added to the beach atmosphere. Great beaches, playground, and restaurants nearby. Two scoops ice cream and the fish at City Pier were both big hits with our family. We'll definitely do this again! Thanks to Chris & Sandy for allowing us the comforts of home while on vacation.

What a great place! The condo is comfortable and nicely nautically decorated. Having the boat slip was important to us so we could keep the boat in the water for our entire stay. The neighbors are friendly and pleasant. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the restaurants, the peace and quiet. I'm still on "island time" and wish we could have stayed longer.

March 2008. We had a great month and want to thank both of you for your hospitality. the location is great and the condo has all of the little extras to make it feel like home. the neighbors are really friendly and made us feel very welcome. roger found a fishing buddy and spent many afternoon fishing the canal. We really enjoyed the restaurants and their seafood, especially the Rod & Reel Pier and the City Pier. We are looking forward to returningto Anna Maria next year.

February 2008 Arrived here for a month out of the snow. The condo is in such a great location on the island. we walked everyday - up to Bean's point and on the Gulf side. John caught alot of fish off the dock. We met alot of wonderful people at the complex and can only hope that we can come back again.

The condo was clean and comfortable with a cute seaside chalet theme.The location is perfect,near free trolley stop,beach and city pier.Jack fished off private jetty and caught loads of fish. The owner Chris and Sandy are lovely friendly people, left us alone to enjoy our holiday but made sure we were okay.We will definately book this condo again in the future.

The only problem is ... leaving. With a canal out one door and the bay just yards away, this place is perfect. there's even a couple of places to eat within a 3 minute walk. Anna Maria is quaint and relaxing. The location of this condo made it even more so. It's nice to enjoy a comfortable condo in a great location. Hope to do it again.
