Owner's Profile
Owner Description
Year Purchased: 2006
Please see "Our Story" on the website! We are very happy to have purchased the Mansion in early 2006. We built the Chapel ourselves, and it is so pretty. Ellery actually built the Chapel, with the help of a few faithful friends, and Beverly designed the Chapel. It was a labor of love, and we think you will love it, too!
Marsha Cody, formerly of the Tapoco Lodge, is the Events Coordinator & Innkeeper at the Mansion. Marsha is gracious and accomodating, and has the experience necessary to help make your stay at the Mansion a time to remember! As a Robbinsville native, Marsha knows a lot about the area, and will be sure to give you great information.
Why the Owner Chose Robbinsville
The area is beautiful! And the Mansion is absolutely a sight to behold. Our friends and family tell us that pictures do not do justice to the property, and it is true. The area, with its natural beauty and "away from it all" feeling, is just an hour or so away from metropolitan areas. The small town atmosphere, where everyone knows each other, really appealed to us. The absolute beauty of this area of western North Carolina reminds us both of Vermont, where Ellery is from - just not as cold!
The Unique Benefits of this Estate
Tranquility, rest, and the lovely garden are all things we look forward to when we visit the Mansion. We also enjoy catching up with friends we have made in the area. But mostly? We work when we are at the Mansion - in the garden, on the grounds, in the Mansion itself - preparing it for our next fortunate guests!

Our committee would like to express our thanks to Jane, Shirley, and Louie. Jane's help in the food selection and table arrangements was a great help. As always, everything went smooth and the food was delicious, plentiful, and the service - tops. Again, the staff was a great help in making our night fun and enjoyable.

Since we were bringing 24 young ladies with us, the mansion "being away from it all" was the perfect location. The pavilion provided a great place for us to practice out of the hot sun. Your story you shared on-line was so sweet - it made me cry. You two are such thoughtful, loving people to care so much about other people's happiness. Hope to meet you someday!

The site is extremely beautiful and so convenient, having everything offered in one place. Everyone was so supportive on my wedding day, and Jane has so many talents. The DJ was really great and made sure everyone had a good time.

We've ridden there before - it is always nice in the Smokies, but your place is gorgeous. We enjoyed ourselves immensely. We would recommend the Smoky Mountain Mansion in a heartbeat.

I just wanted to let you know that mark and I were beyond pleased with our wedding day. Jane made sure everything was absolutely perfect from the cake to my hair! Food was spectacular, and your home was beyond beautiful, and we (as well as several of our guests) plan to come back in the very near future!
