  I am so happy we rented this property. We were in Maui for our wedding and had the immediate family stay at the house with us. The wedding location was on the same street just 7 houses down, so it was super convenient to stay here. The property is spacious with 4 large bedrooms. It has a fully stocked kitchen and we hosted small get-togethers for our guests throughout the week. Everyone was blown away by how beautiful the house and the view was. You have a view of the ocean from every room and it was amazing to just sit in the backyard with a cup of coffee and enjoy the ocean breeze. Staying here really made our wedding extra special and we are already talking about planing another trip to Maui in order to stay here again!

  The location was terrific, with access to some of the best snorkeling, swimming and paddle boarding. Not too mention the turtle sightings!The home is wonderful just had a great family feel to it. Clean and very comfortable, great kitchen and outdoor deck. When we asked the family what was the best part of the holiday they all agreed the house and its location! Thanks again for a great holiday!

  The accomodations were suburb. Our daughter got married about four houses down the beach and the wedding party stayed there. They could take care of themselves doing their own cooking so they didnt have to drive around to the restaurants or get on Maui's roads. It's a beautiful location in a well maintained, Maui styled house. Very well furnished. I highly recommend the Lu'uwai house.The owners were very helpful and flexible in helping us with our complicated schedule.

  My family enjoyed a wonderful reunion at Makena Landing. Everyone indicated they had a great holiday and enjoyed the house and yard immensely. It was ideal for our family and accommodated all eleven of us. The separate entrances to the bedrooms and bathrooms provided everyone the privacy required. It was so handy for all the things we wanted to do. You could walk to three nice beaches for swimming and the closest one was great for starting your snorkling with an easy swim to the area in front of the house, where there was some of the best snorkling on the island. The location is also handy to the Wailea Shopping Center and a short drive to the shops and groceries at Kihei. The lawn provided a great location for my two grandsons and the adults to throw the frisbee, football and kick the soccer ball. I would not hesitate to recommend this location to anyone for a party of our size or even smaller.

  Our Stanford fraternity got together at Luuwai's Makena house for the second time in five years. Once again the experience was all it could be. The house is immaculate, well supplied and furnished and the sunsets are to die for. The snorkeling in front featured excellent visibility and even more turtles than the first time we came. We had three catered dinners on the large front lawn overlooking Makena bay. All want to return in a few years and do it all again.

  My wife and I stayed at Helen's most GORGEOUS ocean front house and it was perfect for our needs. We were married in Maui and wanted a house for our bridal parties to be together in. The four separate entrances were ideal as it gave us the perfect balance of privacy and closeness. We loved grilling and cooking and enjoying the amazing snorkeling. We made memories that will last a lifetime! The house comes equipped with all the amenities and is perfect for a week or longer stay. I highly recommend bringing together family members or friends and staying here while you are in Maui! The view is spectacular and the location is great. We had visitors from South Africa, Pakistan, London, New York, California and Arizona! It was the ideal, perfect place to stay and for our most beloved friends and family to get to know each other, laugh, swim, cook, drink and be merry! Thank you Helen for an amazing stay!!

  This property provided our family of 9 with the opportunity to have a fabulous holiday. The 4 spacious bedrooms, each with its own bathroom/shower, were exactly what we needed so that 2 daughters & spouses & grandkids, 2 parents, plus a nanny all had their own space and privacy. The house is spacious, well maintained, clean and stocked with all the necessities. The large grass yard right in front of the house was a great area for the grandkids to play safely. The large covered patio attached to the house provided us with a cool shady spot to rest and relax once we had soaked up our quota of never ending sunshine. The concrete patio below the grassed area in front of the house was literally beside the ocean. Several family meals, complete with incredible sunsets, were enjoyed on the patio, which had picnic tables thoughtfully provided by the owner. Two beautiful sandy beaches were an easy 3 minute walk away from the house. The snorkeling from these beaches was awesome. An endless supply of fish and turtles kept swimming by us. Each day, a number of large turtles would come right up onto the beach to sun themselves for several hours. The owner checked in with us a couple of times during our stay and was helpful in suggesting various activities and good places to patronize. I would recommend this incredible property to anyone. Our family certainly intends to return in the future.

  My family and my two brothers' families had the most enjoyable vacation while staying at the Lu'uwai's Makena house. The property manager was very helpful and attentive, so booking the house was easy, and she was able to address an issue upon our arrival. It was quite a treat to soak in postcard perfect views every time I looked outside. The house was very well kept, and the landscape was beautifully maintained. Our family especially loved walking down to the rocks to watch breathtaking Maui sunsets. The kids (ages 2-11) had great fun playing on the lawn and were thrilled to see sea turtles swimming in their backyard. There is excellent snorkeling right from the property; in fact a snorkel tour boat dropped anchor right in front of the house. There are several great beaches close by, including Big Beach, Po'olenalena and all the Wailea beaches. Wailea is just a short 5 minute drive away, and Kihei 10-15 minutes. We would love to rerturn someday and would highly recommend the property to my family and friends. I am already getting inquiries after posting pictures on Facebook. :)

  This house is perfect for families and friend to relax on the vacation of a lifetime. I loved jumping in the water off the rocks in the morning to snorkle, I never have seen so many turtles in the water(and out), in my life!! The best part about this house is all the space on the property outside of the house! Who wants to watch TV in Maui on vacation anyway? lol

  My wife and I were joined at the property by our oldest son and his wife and two young boys as well as our younger son who lives in New Zealand. The location is excellent since it is on a quiet street next to the ocean and yet only a quick walk to two beaches. The house is set up with 3 bedrooms upstairs with separate entrances off an upper porch and one bedroom off the main living area. The large lanai was great since it could easily accommodate all of us. It is about a 15 minute drive to the town of Kihei where there are many restaurants and facilities. We had a great stay.
