Great Location in Maui for our 2011 Christmas Holiday

My wife and I were joined at the property by our oldest son and his wife and two young boys as well as our younger son who lives in New Zealand. The location is excellent since it is on a quiet street next to the ocean and yet only a quick walk to two beaches. The house is set up with 3 bedrooms upstairs with separate entrances off an upper porch and one bedroom off the main living area. The large lanai was great since it could easily accommodate all of us. It is about a 15 minute drive to the town of Kihei where there are many restaurants and facilities. We had a great stay.

Recommended for:Age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers.

I am a Wedding Planner, and we had our Wedding Week at this fabulous property. When our family and friends arrived, they were in awe of how secluded and break-taking the property was, sitting right on the ocean's edge. The sunsets were absolutely stunning from this place, and I cannot even begin to tell you how much our guests have talked about their wonderful experience here. Playing on nearby Beaches all day, then coming over for Dinner every night. The covered patio had enough seating for everyone, yet the yard and Landing were large enough to allow perfect flow for people to feel comfortable, especially for my 92 year-old Grandmother! We cannot thank this family enough, for letting use this beautiful home, and for this Dream come true. J and M

Rented homed for Daughters wedding

My daugher and I began a search of homes in Maui over a year ago. Looking for the perfect setting for an intimate family wedding/dinner party along with the perfect home to house the immediate family members. We couldnt of been more happy with our decision. 10 family members stayed in the home the week before the wedding ages 3-adult. The seperation of space and the fact that all rooms have their own bathrooms was great. Everyone had their own privacy...And the large living areas and deck made for great gatherings. The house, its grounds and the area around all have so many wonderful things to explore and see. You always have something to do if you want to, or if not just sit and watch the sea or sunset. The wedidng itself was spectacular. My daughter was overwhelmed. This was a once in a family vacation and we made the most of it. The owner Helen was so easy to work with and has some great ideas and was always there to answer questions we had this last year. Thank you- Just a wonderful home and a beatiful setting.

I didn't end up booking this property, but the owner, Helen, was incredibly flexible and accommodating with my inquiry. Having contacted several properties, she was one of the few who was immediately available and she was willing to work with several complicated details on my end. I was trying to accommodate a really large wedding party, and she was quite helpful. We didn't book only because the spam filter on my email was hiding correspondence from Helen and I booked something else before I saw that she had sent me a contract. If I had it to do over, I would totally go with this property.

Awesome Wedding in Paradise

Had my wedding here on October 9, 2010. Awesome house. Could not have asked for a better venue. We wanted an intimate family-oriented wedding---we got it, and then some. It's the only house in the area where you have direct access to the water. And, there were sea turtles hanging out during our visit. The house itself felt like home and was very inviting. The rooms are situated in a way so that everybody gets their own privacy. Each room is huge and the common areas (living room, kitchen, dining, and outside balcony) easily accommodated 8 of us and our guests. The Lu'uwais have been very kind and responsive during our stay, we feel very lucky. We had an awesome time here and actually miss the place. We will definitely come back.

Loved the house!!! Nice having a bathroom with every bedroom. It was supplied fully, even a coffee grinder and beach towels. We loved sitting on the lawn in the backyard overlooking the ocean while sipping our cocktails. We had wonderful snorkeling in our backyard. Also, we explored other areas that were wonderful too. This place is close to Kehei with some great places to eat!! If you are looking for a Really nice house and a relaxing place.. go no further.. this is the one. We had 9 people in this house and it was private and comfortable…and they all loved me for picking out this place! Lasty, Helen was very accommodating, she wanted this to be a good experience for us!!!

We had a wonderful 2 week stay here. The view is amazing and Makena is our favorite place on the island. The house is very well stocked. The owners must have amazing parties here! It's spacious and great for groups. There is no sand in front of the property which keeps the people away yet a 2 block walk to the left takes you to a public beach with bathrooms and showers. Our favorite activity was to go down to the water in front of the house and watch the turtles playing in the waves among the rocks. We will be back!

I stayed in this house with my bridal party when I got married on Maui. This house is fantastic. All of the bedrooms are very privite, and then you also have a nice large indoor/outoor common area to hang out. Its right on the water in one of the best snorkeling areas on Maui, and you are really close to some of the best beaches around. This place was so cool, we had a lot of fun here.
