Puerto Angel villa description

Available weekly or monthly, this traditional colonial style home is located in a rustic environment overlooking the Pacific Ocean and the beach called La Boquilla. The house sits up on a ridge and has total privacy from any surrounding homes. There are three bedrooms each with their own private bathroom with shower, king size bed and unique decor. kitchen with commercial range, fully equipped for cooking and entertaining. Living room, dining area open to patio and garden, half bath in kitchen. The home is mostly furnished with Spanish Revival furniture brought from California. Guest rooms open to corridors and central garden. Many sitting areas and places to relax, read and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. On-site parking. Housekeeping available every day or whatever is preferred.

10 minute walk down to the beach. There is a small hotel with restaurant and bar called Hotel Bahia de la Luna. Food and service is very good. A nice place to be for the day. Closest market to shop for food is Pochutla about 25 minutes away, or Puerto Angel about 15 minutes.

Transportation from Huatulco Airport is via taxi or car rental.

Owner/Manager on site to help you with logistics, restaurant recommendations or directions to places of interest. The area known as 'Costa Chica' is within 45 minutes.

                      Year Purchased: 2004

                      About the owner: My partner Cary starting traveling and surfing along the west coast of Mexico in the 1970's. It was always his dream to build a Spanish-Colonial house somewhere in Mexico. On a Christmas vacation in 2004 while traveling in Mexico we discovered Playa la Boquilla and fell in love with this special undeveloped spot on the Pacific Coast of Oaxaca. We bought some land and started our project which took over three years. To furnish the house we collected appropriate vintage and antique furniture which we then trailered from California. During side trips around Mexico we have collected art, pottery, tile for the bathrooms and kitchen, textiles and other interesting items. We love to cook and have had many wonderful dinner parties with family, neighbors and friends. Currently we divide our time between Casa Ebano (named for the ebony trees on the property) and our home in west Marin County California. I am an interior designer and Cary buys and sells antiques and other interesting old stuff. We enjoy spending time with our three daughters and their families while taking advantage of the amazing sites and lifestyle northern California has to offer.

                      Why the Owner Chose Puerto Angel:
                      We stumbled onto this area while vacationing here one Christmas eight or so years ago. We had the unique opportunity to meet several people that owned property here. We were shown various properties and chose this one for the views, privacy and easy access from main road.

                      The Unique Benefits at this Villa:
                      We fell in love with the area but also this spot on the ridge where we built the house. We have unique views of the beach and the open ocean from the patio. The two large Ebony trees create lovely shade, great place to relax. Cooking is one of our favorite things to do in Oaxaca. Shopping at the market and coming home to prepare regional cuisine for friends. A morning walk and swim down to the beach is how a typical day would begin.
